TRUST ME

Chapter Forty One of Ruthless.
"Oh my God, it's you." Nathan took the chance to mimick Tacha, and she rewarded him with a laughter for his voice was accurate as hers. Her eyes giving off happy sparks just by seeing him. Everytime they talked on phone, Tacha wished she could see him. His absence made her realise how much she loved his presence. This side of him was different from the cold Nathan she knew, except that, the two sides still enjoyed the pleasure in giving her hard time. Now that she had finally seen him, she couldn't help rolling her eyes at him for teasing her.
"You didn't tell me you were coming here." Tacha accused, using the seat belt. Her hand gripping on the seat belt even when she had fixed it well.
Nathan removed his dark shade and stared at her. A smile on his lips before throwing Tacha a quick wink. He dropped the pretense of being cool when his lips had plans since he saw her in her red fitted gown that brought all her curves to limelight. He wanted her to settle down, and immediately she did, he leaned closer to her and claimed her lips before she could utter anymore word, sending electric sensation over her every nerve as she held unto him tightly, making sure he was comfortable. Nathan felt her softened against him and returned his kiss so quickly, making him desperate for more as his tongue tangled with hers, exploring her like she was a vacation to enjoy. He thought about her everyday, and the moment he saw her, he wanted to grab her into a huge hug, but had to stay calm, gripping his stirring till he could pour it all into his kiss as he ravished her.
"Hey, Nathan..." Tacha forced herself to meet his gaze, trying to pull away considering where they were. She saw heat flamed in his eyes, his breath ragged with passion as his hands cupped her breasts through her dress bringing his mouth down to kiss them. Tacha chuckled in between his kisses, but when he fondled her, and kissed her even more passionately, Tacha cried out in surprise, gripping unto him. "Damn! I miss you." He said between his kisses. His breath enough to shush her thoughts as they kissed again. Where they were wasn't the best place to consume her seeing how thorough he was kissing her. Including how long the kiss was going and how slowly she was trembling in his arms to go beyond the kiss. They had missed each other, pouring all the words they couldn't say into the kiss as it grew more aggressive.
Nathan finally pulled away eventually, his gaze setting on hers after making himself comfortable. His voice was husky and incredibly low, enough for Tacha to know he was trying to take his mind off her, but his eyes glazed with passion informed her he wanted more. He dragged his eyes around her body. "I said I will come pick you, but you didn't ask where. Since I wanted it to be a surprise, also an opportunity to see the guys ogling you over there."
Tacha chuckled. He was still very close to her so she slapped his mouth a little, jokingly, rubbing it with her two hands. "That's for kissing a girl on her period. Where are your manners."
Nathan's reaction was everything to Tacha that it made her laugh so hard. Bro was like, don't even start these lies. But instead of speaking out his mind, he just raised his brows at Tacha, gently moving away from her side.
Tacha seemed to be enjoying what she started. She rolled her eyes at him in return. "What?"
She didn't get the response she wanted. Instead, Nathan just started the car, and that made Tacha laughed even more. "You are taking me home right?"
Nathan turned his gaze towards her before looking away. "Thank God you are wearing a flat. Is to trek to your house or take your BRT. I'm driving out of the gate as a reminder. I can still stop now."
Tacha couldn't help the laughter that erupted out of her mouth. She laughed so hard that she began to breathe very fast. "So it can pain you like this. Nobody sees you whenever you are teasing me you know. I feel like I've conquered the world." She laughed and sighed, feeling truly conquered and satisfied.
"Where are you taking me? I thought we agreed on a date."
"I called this evening while coming over here to let you know our plans changed. My friend is having a home party. He does it anytime we are around. We party, play mature games and just have fun. I want you to be there. It will be my first time going with someone after few years. They can get to know you. I want them to be familiar with your face little by little. I don't want to go alone."
Tacha tried to take in what he said again, taking a quick look at her dress. She had only met Eric, and not him Introducing her to him as his girlfriend though. She was really anxious by the information, hoping she would be able to get along with them.
"Their girlfriends are coming too?"
Nathan saw her checking herself out. He understood the tone she responded with, and he just have to quickly stop her from worrying. "It's not a serious party like that. Just my close friends and family. Got you a sexy swimsuit." He used the opportunity of being stuck inside the traffic to reach for the package and gave it to Tacha.
Tacha unwrapped the nylon and took a serious look at what Nathan called sexy. She didn't want to believe he called this a swimsuit. She had to first laugh, trying her best for it not to escalate or sound ungrateful. "Nathan, am I going to the moon?"
"What happened?" Nathan turned with a smile upon seeing the silly smile on Tacha's face. He took a quick look at the swimming trunk in her hand. It was then he noticed what he never saw in the picture he checked. It was big and looked much like a jumpsuit. "I just ordered it. It happens to be the most expensive one and it's a known brand." He laughed realising he didn't even check it when he got it too. He didn't want Tito to do it, if not there wouldn't have been any issue. "Sorry about that. Will get you a new one."
Tacha packed the long swimsuit back into its nylon and returned it to the empty back seat. She unlocked her phone and saw eight missed calls from Nathan. It was during the time she was charging he must have called. She logged into her Instagram account and the first thing she saw was the pregnancy news.  She was too excited that she forgot to at least mention something about it to Nathan.
Tacha locked her phone immediately and turned her direction towards Nathan. She cleared her voice, hoping the atmosphere was good enough to at least squeezed it in. "Are we not going to talk?" She said calmly, getting Nathan's attention, but he immediately fixed his eyes back on the road. He understood quickly but allowed Tacha to say all she had to say. Tacha heaved a very long sigh, not looking away from Nathan. "Don't you have anything to say to me or talk about. At least, let me know my fate."
"What's there to know after how have been so true to you these past days." Nathan's voice laced with a bit of anger, not liking her choice of tone. He moved his car in the traffic, slightly hitting a car next to him trying to enter the little space before him. It seemed her last statement bothered him that he pressed a button close to his car door, bringing down the window at his side. "Hey! Drive with your five senses cause you gonna pay for any scratch on this car. I won't listen to any shit then! Thank you." Tacha watched Nathan let out his anger at the innocent man who didn't manage to hurl insults back on Nathan enough, because he pressed the same button again and the window came up. Since Tacha understood everyone was mad in Lagos, and doesn't care about your last name in traffic apart from on social media, she couldn't blame the man whose mouth remained open to flies as he kept shouting back on someone whose mind was already occupied.
Tacha kept quiet knowing Nathan was at fault. When his window came back up, he was quiet for about a minute or two before he spoke up again. "I didn't mean to raise my voice at you."
"You are certainly telling me not to express myself by doing that. It was only a simple question Nathan. Now we are dating, and you really need to let me express myself without getting angry at everything I say or else I will keep a lot of things from you and it will take us nowhere."
Nathan's voice came out a lot more calm. "Why are you always being defensive?"
"You always trigger it."
He smiled, and kept quiet again. Then he spoke up after few seconds. "I understand you were waiting for me this whole time, and it's not something we can discuss on phone. And now I know why your mood changed the day I was going to travel." His voice was calm and collected, but quietly became stern. "I don't want you to do anything stupid until we have the discussion. I plan on doing that with you today, but after our date tomorrow will be perfect. I want to do this with you, but I feel you don't want it with the way you talk. So please, don't always decide alone."
"That's the reason I had been waiting for us to have this discussion." Tacha replied, telling him what she had in mind with sincerity.
"Then we will. Trust me. Don't let that be the first issue you have to worry about." He repeated again. "Trust me."
•••••
Arriving at their destination, Nathan and Tacha got down from the car after few minutes. From the time Nathan got angry till they got to where they were coming, Tacha responded to Nathan with one word everytime he talked to her. She went back to the same Instagram she didn't want to visit till they reached their destination.
Nathan ended up laughing seeing how sucked up Tacha was acting. He went closer to her side and kissed her cheek, hugging her to himself. "I think I should annoy you more so I can laugh this much. Remember you did your own already. I wish you can see your big cheeks though." He kissed her cheeks this time. "It's okay babe. I'm sorry." He kissed her on the lips, getting a frown Tacha to eventually rolled her eyes and smiled, struggling to get away from him. It made Nathan laugh, forgetting he could land himself into trouble again.
"I see..." They were interrupted. "I was wondering why you haven't showed your face since your car came in. So...." Eric dragged, smiling when he saw Tacha's face. It was obvious he came out of the pool to meet them, dripping from head to his toes, his short undeniably wet. "I guess the traffic held you guys on the way. You should join us." Eric threw Nathan a short before the two men shook hands in a brotherly way. Eric went over to Tacha. He kissed her cheeks, smiling at her again. "Welcome. I finally get to give you a cordial greeting. I hope you will have a great time with us. How were you able to cope with this storm though?"
Tacha smiled, looking in between the two friends.
"Oh, you don't get. That's storm next to you."
"Baboon that you are." Nathan replied, taking Tacha's hand with his. "Let's change."
When they changed into their swimming wears, Tacha whispering storm next to Nathan was to stir up trouble. She whispered again and again while Nathan pretended not to hear her. He realised how much of a trouble maker she was. Very free and playful at times. Tacha laughed next to him. "I will repeat it until you can hear me." She said a bit louder, more intentionally for him to look at her side, and eventually he shifted his gaze to hers, holding her mouth with two of his fingers before releasing it as they made their way to his friends.
Nathan turned when she wouldn't stop. "You know your own results into swelling. So, don't even start. I have a feeling you might faint this time cause you know my calling."
Tacha laughed next to him. "You don't make angels angry. So annoying. You have no bragging right for wickedness." She held unto his arm as they walked together.
Nathan kept his response to himself, letting his rough laughter expressed his thoughts. "You sure have a way with words," he said. "Let's swim before we go in and meet my friends."
When Nathan got to the pool, just few people were outside and they must have been invited by his friend, James, who was hosting them. He pulled Tacha to himself to enter the pool, but shocked when Tacha wiggled in his hands before allowing her to break free. Tacha stood there in humiliation, feeling deep regret as she confessed her sin for running away from the pool side. She shook her head, her face pleading to be left out there. "I don't know how to swim."
