Suddenly, the DJ switched the music again. "Greatness! DJ Neptune!" "Joeboy pon deck!" Both Ayoola and Toby yelled, totally into the music. Toby turned to his girlfriend who was already laughing at his funny display. "🎶Babe, I don't wanna hear say... I don't wanna hear say you dey with another man..." His hand went to his neck, demonstrating how he would kill the person instantly. Then he continued. "🎶 the way your body rotate, I no go like am make I see you with another man." He then kissed her cheek. Immediately Toby was done, they all chorused together. 🎶 I don't wanna hear say, I don’t wanna hear say you dey with another man... The way your body rotate, I don’t wanna see you with… Nobody nobody, nobody nobody, nobody nobody, no, don’t wanna see you with, nobody nobody, nobody nobody, nobody nobody, no. Ara couldn't help smiling at where she sat with Prince Ire. Those guys were having fun and they seemed to be enjoying it. Ara turned to Prince Ire with a curious face. "Don't tell me this is how they party always." "They aren't jobless." Ara rolled her eyes. "Which one is they aren't jobless. That's not a way to answer question." Prince Ire chuckled a little giving Ara a look of...are you kidding me! But he managed to smile before replying. "This girlfriend's duty is really giving you liver. Are you going to start teaching me what to say?" Ara laughed. " If I have to," she stared back at Prince Ire to see his reaction, but he didn't give her one. He only stayed quiet listening to her as he sipped his wine. Ara continued. "But don't you think I should scold you for always scattering your room, giving me so much to do anytime I'm there to arrange your room." Ara laughed remembering the first time of entering his room, thinking she was just going to lay his mattress, only to spend hours picking things he dumped around. She stared at him. " You wanna know what I think? Please don't let me say it." She laughed, covering her mouth. Prince Ire smiled at her. "You are my girlfriend tonight. I will manage to just smile even if it hurts me." Ara laughed, and he did too. Ara shook her head. "You and I know I will pay for it later." Prince Ire shook his head with a little chuckle displaying on his face. "Now you know so much about me already." "Well, I will say it looks like you always invite your friends there to party." Ara finally released the observation in her mind. Prince Ire cleared his voice, ignoring what she said. This time, he prayed what he was about to say won't be rejected because he wasn't strong to handle rejection so well. "Would you mind if I decide to know who you are. I mean, get to know you more. If it's fine by you," he said. Ara threw him one of her sweetest smiles. Her eyes swimming in Joy. Obvious that she wanted it too. Staring at the man before her, she was more than ready. She agreed to the idea because she wanted to get to know him too. Remembering the first time she met him, she thought he had the ugliest, yet tempting smile that could draw any lady to him and also scared any lady away from him. "So, aren't you going to explain this room part of a thing." "Well," he smiled at her. "Why are suddenly interested in that? I'm just like that. I drop them anywhere with the thoughts to arrange them later which I sometimes don't do." Then he laughed. "My wife has a job already. I'm afraid she might ask me for salary every month because that's a work on its own." He spared Ara a glance. "And to answer your question, our profession does not allow this because most of the time we are always busy. Any little time we get, we make use of it to rest. Coming here is just once in a blue moon." "So Folu is a doctor too?" Ara asked. "Yes," Prince Ire nodded. "Whao! You guys are really doing well." Ara confessed. "I guess I still have plenty of time." Prince Ire lifted the red cup in his hand to his mouth and gulped down the rest of his wine. Ara watches how is Adam apple went up and down till he was done with the drink. His mouth curved into a thin smile and Ara thought it was the most beautiful thing a girl could be blessed with. Staring at Ara, Prince Ire said, "Ara, time wait for nobody. We all might think there is still time, but there isn't time at all. Time is running fast and it is better to be focused than to become a locust." Ara was stunned. Thinking about his last statement, she tried to ponder on it, but Prince Ire explained better instead. "Locust is eaten by people. Which means, if someone isn't focused or have a goal, he or she can be used anyhow by people. Eaten up, used and end up doing anything for anybody because he or she has no target or ambition to chase. So take that back, because this is the time you can build up that future. The future is now. I hope after you are finally out of the palace, you will get your admission immediately, and I hope you could learn more about these catering, baking something. Don't just work for people. Work for yourself too." "Seriously, I don't know what to say." Surprised was evident in Ara's voice. Those words penetrated into her and changed few things she thought she had enough time to do. "Would you like to know one thing I love so much about you?" Ara asked, she wasn't shy and at that moment, she just wanted to tell him how motivating his speech was. How awesome he was from her perspective. How slowly she grew to appreciate him even though he was good at annoying her at times. She smiled at him. "You believe so much in people and that,, that..." Ara stammered, trying to continue but his voice took over. "I believe in anyone who gives me reasons too." His voice came out slowly, and deep. That silly smile took over Ara's face. She understood he didn't want to admit. She went ahead and still thanked him. "Thank you. Thank you so much for everything. How do I repay you? I really wish I could do something for you." "Hmm..." Prince Ire played with his empty red cup. He thought of what Toby told him and decided to try his chance. "Lunch with me on Saturday." Ara raised a brow at him. That sounded more like a command but she didn't take it as an offense. "My Saturday is taken," she replied. "Taken! By who?" Prince Ire shot her a look before directing his eyes to Ayoola who was having fun with the rest. Ara nodded, seeing Prince Ire already guessed who she was about. "What time on Saturday?" She asked. She was going to tell Ayoola something came up instead. They were still there when Prince Ire announced to everyone that he was leaving. Both Prince Ire and Ara greeted everyone of them, walking side by side together, and headed to the door. "Prince, Prince!" Both Ire and Ara looked up at the vvip seats. Standing few steps away from them was Senator. The same Senator Ara met at Abuja. He saw Ara, but didn't greet her. He turned to Prince Ire instead. "You know this place is for couples hangout, so when I saw her I thought you both are together now." "Dating? No!" Prince Ire said, very fast without thinking about how Ara could feel. Ara just kept quiet looking away from both men. "I said it too." The Senator laughed like it was funny. "My boy, you are a Prince, and you shouldn't be walking around with lowlife, poor girls about. You are very important in the society. All they want is your money, then run away with it. That's why we always encourage you children to marry someone of the status or higher status than us. They are not greedy." The Senator said and smiled at Ara who was almost in tears. Those words stung her like a bee. She felt like the ground could open and swallow her. She was totally embarrassed. Stabbed. And bruised. Just like that. Lowlife! Ara thought. She shot back her tears, trying to act all strong. Trying to act like she wasn't affected, but those tears were too much to be held in the cage of her charming eyes. She couldn't believe Prince Ire stood there without uttering a single word till The Senator left them. The moment they climbed into the car they brought, Prince Ire knew Ara's mood had changed. Her eyes looked red already. Soaked with tears. The moment he made a move to touch her, Ara let out the tears which ran down her cheeks so fast. "Please! Don't even touch me." She said in a quiet tone trying not to raise her voice. "Ara calm down." Prince Ire said with a low voice, hoping Ara would listen to her. "Just hear me out first." Ara wiped away her tears facing the car window close to her. "Don't even try it, so just start the car already. This ain't happening again. So foolish of me." Her voice was firm.
