SOMA: I do not have it in me to do it. I tried but I cannot see myself killing my brother. Not even a bit. No matter the amount of rage fueled in me, there is a major part of me that still acknowledges him as my blood. So, no, I won’t do it. He must be surprised to see that he isn’t dead yet. Especially when he opens his eyes to look at the sword dug right into the ground beside him. It was at the last second that I changed the course of direction or else he would have been long gone now. I stand upright, pulling up the sword from the ground alongside. My eyes are closed as I take in a deep breath to relax my nerves. I must have hit an adrenaline rush by now with the rate at which I took the fight with him. “What’s stopping you? Why don’t you just kill me?” Harold's voice interrupts my brief peaceful state. He sounds like he is in distress. Almost as if he cannot take what is happening to him. “I want to, Harold. But unlike you, I still have a little sympathy left in me. I’m not going to let you die because I’m consumed by my emotions,” I tell him while reflecting on a few things. Things like how this whole situation would take a different direction. And it mostly has to do with how I would get them all out of here. “I don’t want your sympathy. Do it now! I’m better off dead than alive,” I finally have to open my eyes, mostly because I am irritated that he keeps interrupting my thoughts with his hysterical attitude. “You are still at my mercy. And that means it is I who would decide when you will die. So you had better keep it quiet while I think. You are distracting me,” He starts to sit up. He has been lying flat on the ground for so long now that he looks like his back has stiffened while trying to get his ass on the ground. I have to look away because staring at him was giving me crazy thoughts. Especially with the weapon in my hand. And surely I cannot handle it if it overcomes me. “Kill me now, Soma! Just do it!” That is when I start to hear footsteps. More like running ones approaching where we are. Then a voice gets to my head. ‘Where are you?’ I ignore the voice in my head and instead say to Harold, “I cannot kill you,” and slowly I turn to face him directly. “But that doesn’t mean I can’t do this,” And with a swift movement, I stab him right in the right side of his chest, twisting the sword in him so he could feel that much pain. The sound that reigns in the air after that is his scream of agony. ***** LUIS: My hands get loosened from the chains by one of the warriors that came with the rescue convoy. After that he goes down to my leg to do the same, dismantling every chain I am bound to in the process. I look around the room to see that the others are being sorted out the same way I was. I still can't believe all of this is Soma’s doing. She masterminded this whole rescue mission and it turned out to be a success. From afar, right outside the room we are in, I can see her standing with her sister who led the warriors here to set us free. And that was after Soma had dealt with her brother who lay on the ground at the moment wriggling in pain. “Do you still have a reason not to have an issue with him?” I hear Soma ask her sister as they both stare at their brother on the ground. I watch as her sister looks at her in the face and then shakes her head, apparently in disappointment at what she is seeing. “I can see now that he needs no justification. Don’t know I thought there was a little hope to try to see eye to eye with him,” They continue to stare at their brother when Cassie takes off the armor piece on herself and then puts it over Soma. “Still wondering how you managed to walk around this way,” Cassie said. And at the same time, Cassie looks in the direction of where I am and I am forced to look away from them. But I'm sure it is too late as she would have seen already that I was staring at them and most possibly listening in to their conversation. I stylishly start to adjust my hair so I could make a retreat from there. I would have perfected that, if not for the hand I feel on my shoulder all of a sudden. My gaze lands on whose it is and I realize it’s Beta Leonard. “You are one lucky chap,” he says as he takes his hand off me and comes you stand beside me. “Maybe I am,” I respond, not understanding what he is trying to drive at with that statement. At the moment I’m just going with the flow. “You found yourself a lady as beautiful as Soma. And in the most difficult time of your life, she saves you. Who can get luckier than that?” I follow his gaze to see him staring at the two ladies talking outside. Instantly I feel a pang of jealousy from seeing his gaze linger on her mostly exposed body. I can't help it that another man has his eyes on her. As I intend to say something that would make him look away from her, he beats me to speak, “Don’t worry, she’s all yours. I do not intend to take her from you,” and with that, he turns around to go back to the men behind. Soma and Cassie are approaching the building already, discussing a subject matter that I can understand. “Who did you hand the pack over to?” Soma asks Cassie. “Father,” Cassie says, “Mother also volunteered to assist. They cut short their trip, luckily it was nearby, telling me to send you a message that you can take your time.” “What about Zane?” “He’s taken the other warriors to release the nabbed warriors.” “I think Mark should be there,” “Mark?” They stop talking when they both get in front of me. I have it in me to thank them but the words feel heavy in my mouth. I’m probably nervous about seeing them both at the moment. “I'll let you two be,” Cassie says, dishes a smile at me, and then walks away. Soma and I stand long enough to forget that we have been staring right into each other. Every passing moment felt divine to me and I do not want to let it slide. Maybe if we could just stand like this, glued into reality for eternity, then it would be so good. I decide to end the showdown by saying, “Thank you,” She snaps out of her trance. “What?” she asks. “I was thanking you,” I tell her. “Oh,” she says. She is still bearing the silver sword with her, already stained with the blood of her brother and probably her wolf’s during the fight. And unexpectedly, without warning, she drops the sword to the ground and lunges her frame at me. My quick reflexes make me react to it or I would have been on the floor in no time. I manage to grab her by the butt as she wraps her legs around my waist. She pulls her face into mine with her arms on my neck, immediately smacking her lips against mine. I waste no time in kissing her back, giving her the run for her money. It was an intense showdown between us as we exchanged tongues. It felt like a means to see who could do it better and at the same time, the pleasure that came from it was ecstatic, not minding the others that were here with us. I am tempted to push her to the wall and take this activity further but I have to hold my horses. Here was obviously not the right place. Eventually, we stop when she pulls out of the kiss and then suddenly hugs me tight by the neck. She follows it up with her putting her face in the base of my neck and I feel her inhale my scent. Feels divine, I must say. Everything feels divine at the moment. After that, she raises her face to the side of my neck and starts to plant soft kisses on it. It was enough to turn me on to the fullest. So much that I can feel how much of a boner I have developed. I try to make her stop but she is hellbent on pleasuring me right now and right here. It was at the same time that I feel something pointy on my neck. That should be her fangs. And it feels more enlarged than ordinary. Is it what I’m thinking? “Don't go about scaring me like that again, okay?” was what I hear her say before I feel her fangs dig into my neck.
