Chapter 68 CLAIMING YOU.

Brian looked to see who it was and found a woman beckoning on him to give way while she passes because he was obstructing the path.
“Sorry…” He apologized, and he was suddenly shocked at who he was staring at.
“Lucy?” He muttered, holding on to her hand, but she shoved it aside.
“Excuse me? Do I know you?” She asked, staring at him as tears had gathered in his eyes. He smiled sad and sniffed.
“You're alive! Or my…” He exclaimed, expressing his happiness and as he was about to hug her, she pushed him away.
“You again? What do you want from me, you keep mistaking me for someone else!…” She complained while walking away, but he followed her trail, she got mixed up with some colleagues who were saluting her. Brian had gotten close to her and was about to hold her shoulder when Abigail appeared in front of him.
“That lady…who is she?” He asked whined and Abigail gazed at him fuddled.
“Who?” She asked, cocking her head to see if there was a lady behind her.
“The one on the green” he described, and she scoffed.
“I'm also on green…so it might be me” she teased, and he glared at her.
“I'm being serious…” He growled making off to the garden, howbeit, she walked behind him. Brian cast around if he could possibly see her again, but the lady was gone neither could he ask anyone if they saw Lucy or a woman on green; because the dress code was green and red, yet he wasn't going to give up easily and when he finds her, he wouldn't let go this time again. Mirabel found Brian roaming about along with Abigail, who joined in the search for whom she had no clue of.
“Brian?”
He turned his looks to her and hurriedly went her way. Perhaps, she might have the records of all her guest. Brian asked the old lady who seemed confused with his description, especially the name because none of such a being could be found here.
“Let's forget about that… I wanted you to meet…”
“Mother she's gone” Abigail chipped in looking exhausted.
“Who is that?” Brian asked, and the two ladies glanced at him.
“Lady…”
“Mrs Mirabel!” A voice interrupted and Mirabel apologized while taking her leave.
“Lady who?” He asked Abigail, who was gazing at the crystal balls that hung on the mistletoe leaves.
“She's not whom you're looking for” she snapped, and he nodded in affirmation, perhaps could it have been his imagination? But he held her and felt her touch! That was miss Lucy, and he was going to prove that fact.
“The CCTV footage…” He thought aloud
“It got broken some days ago” Abigail profess waiting for another question.
“You seem so worried over this woman… I'm sorry to ask…was she a part of you?” Abigail asked because he seemed confused about something.
“What can I say… I wish to see her again” that was his only reply to her, and she guessed right, certainly he must be obsessed with that woman whom no one have an idea of.
“Miss Lucy?” She thought. The name seemed familiar to her, well, the internet was going to be a great help in finding her out. Brian said his farewells as he rode home quite early while Abigail was set to investigate on him and the strange lady.
“I'm not mistaken… I saw her” he kept repeating to himself. Brian didn't want to inform Julie so as not give her false hope, even though that child had kept faith in that one day miss Lucy was going to come back. Maybe that prayers of hers were coming to pass. He had a sleepless night and didn't even realize it was day break until Julie called to wish him the season's greetings. After a little while of granting themselves some blessings, the call was cut off. Brian stood up from his bed and took a walk outside, he was at the tenth floor and took the lift to get down from his apartment when he suddenly heard his name. It was Abigail, she had seen him walk out of the lift.
“Merry Christmas” she greeted with a fake smile, and he accepted her kind gesture.
“Do you have someone around here?”
“Yes you… I came over to see you” she beckoned, and he swallowed strolling his eyes around. He wasn't expecting anyone to pay a visit, though neither could he turn her down.
“You're welcome…” He mused, diverting his direction towards her.
“Going for a walk…right? I would love to come along” Abigail beckoned as he sighed. It was going to be a noisy day for him with her around. They had walked a distance away from the apartment, and Abigail broke the long silence about her.
“That woman…from last night”
“Yes?” He replied with probing eyes.
“Well I researched about her and from the looks of it, she's dead”
Brian didn't respond because that's what everyone believes, but he saw her yesterday.
“But…” She paused while halting in her step.
“She looks familiar to lady Juliet”.
“Could you help me with her address?”
“Literally, she doesn't reside her but only came for the conference, it's so surprising she didn't show up except last night”
“Abi please…she must still be around…flights for today has been cancelled…can you help me get through to her”
“Yes… I will, but she's always heavily guarded, so it's going to be tough though” she expressed and Brian closed his eyes, relieved that his assumptions were right, and finally, he gets to see her.
“You never told me who she was to you” Abigail requested as Brian glanced at her.
“She's my wife” he claimed. Abigail looked heartbroken still, she was going to help this new friend of hers to get united with his wife.
“Thank you very much! Abi…you've lit up my hope once more” he appreciated with a tearful gaze.
“It's okay…friends?" She asked and he nodded while hugging her.
