Chapter 62 Last And First Ceremony

*Vienna's P.O.V.*
Albeit everything that we all went through, I can only say that, everything does happen for a reason. Every decision leads to corresponding situations and I guess, as Isaac Newton said, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Don't you think so too? Of course I went to school too, I finished highschool at different schools during my travels, I just didn't proceed to college cause I don't really know what major I'd like to take. Now, I know exactly what I should take, not that I had a choice. There's no other thing more worthy of mastering than the mastery of self. Do I sound so philosophical now? Why not? Spending time with the elders can do that to you.
Strolling along the castle's halls, I marvelled on the decorations that the housekeepers are putting up. The royal coven looks more regal than it did before. Maybe because of the aroma of a new beginning that's surrounding Donegal. A new leadership, a leadership that's quite promising. But of course, one cannot begin if the other one didn't end.
Voughn Fiel's death about two weeks ago had brought us to this. Even if it was quite twisted, the way I figured out about him being my father and all, I still mourned his death, after all, if it wasn't for him, I won't be here. I guess I'm still grateful.
"Vienna! Princess, there you are. Come on, it's time for you to prepare, the ceremony is about to begin in an hour!" Cassy said as we bumped into each other. Yes, yes, all my friends are here in Donegal because Marcos invited them all for this big celebration.
"Yes, that's why I'm on my way to our quarters. Are the others there yet?" I asked as we walked together.
"Maybe. I can't wait to be on that ball! Can you believe that? We can attend a ball and dress like a princess! But you already are a princess but you know what I mean." I just smiled at her girly giddiness, of course, this is my friend.
"I'm not so excited about that. I'm just happy everything went to place. You know." I said as a matter of fact.
"Oh I am! Say could I attract that fine looking fighter witch with a sexy name?" oh, here we go again, atleast she's not shipping me with anyone anymore.
"Devon? He's so in love." I shrugged.
"Really?"
"Doesn't show it but it's pretty obvious."
"Is it with me?"
I laughed and shook my head. Opening the door, we are greeted by our female friends with some maids in the quarters.
"Hello to the both of you. Why don't you take a shower first?" mom said as she hugged the both of us.
"Sure mom." I said. Looking around, I saw Divine with a maid doing her make-up, same goes to Diana and even Cathy. "How about my sisters?" I asked cause I didn't see them around.
"Here!" that was Molly waving from an adjacent room. I waved back and she disappeared again.
I guess everyone is busy so I decided to just take a shower. After a good 20 minutes of a refreshing shower, I came out and saw the others were done with their hair and make up.
"You look spectacular!" of course Cassy has to speak out my thoughts.
"It's your turn to be prettified darlings." one of the maids said as they sat us up in a chair and, I don't know, painted our faces? You see now, I'm not so fond of beautification, but, just for this occasion.
I was in shock when I saw myself in the full body mirror in the room after the maids did their magic touch. Well magic wasn't quite involved but the transformation seems magical enough. Wearing a deep purple gown that hugged my figure until the bum and flowing the rest of the way down to the floor plus a silver heel that matches with the silver jewelries embedded with amethyst gem stones, would make one look really, witchy, in a regal way.
Compliments were uttered here and there as I walked with my sisters towards the ballroom where the night's event would take place. Each one of us wearing gowns in shades of purple embedded with silver sparkles, hairs up in a regal bun and faces painted in beautification. It's hard to say these women are warriors, or fighters, in a way.
When we reached the grand dark oak door, Marcos and Mark are already standing there, looking like greek gods in their silver tuxedos and purple ties. So you see now, silver and purple is the main theme of this party, or what. Maybe because silver is the representation of the moon, our supreme goddess, and purple represents us, witches. Our eyes turn purple in our primes after all.
The guards on the gates nodded and the doors were pulled open.
"The Royal siblings!"
The orchestra played and we descended down the royal staircase by three. Molly, Mark, and Marissa came first followed by me, Marcos, and Marianne. The crowded, magnificently decorated ballroom looks so unreal from my view here at the top.
"Smile and wave." Marcos reminded me as we walked down the red carpet. And I did.
I saw witches of each kind, smiling, clapping, and waving. When we neared the stage where ten throne-like chairs were placed, I saw my mate and friends cheering at us and to the other side I saw mom and some of the members of the Paranormal Council. Standing at the top of the platform were Teressa, Aurora, and other two royals, our uncles, waiting for us.
Aurora gave us all a hug while Teressa just gave a slight smile as we took our places. Me and Marcos taking the two chairs on the center. The crowd's cheers seized and the orchestra changed into a monotonous tune as some men marched on the red carpet carrying the casket where Voughn Fiel was laid and placed it at the foot of the stage.
Marcos stood up. "Give honor to the late king!" he proclaimed and we, the royals on the stage, all stood up and made a ball of energy appear at the palm of our hands and made it float to hover just above the casket before it sprinkled into silver and purple petals. Then ceremonial torches were passed among us and Marcos nodded on me and Mark who flanked his side.
We both rubbed our palms, starting a fire, which we transfered to the torch he's holding.
"The last honors..."
Marcos lit up the torch his mother was holding, then she lit up the torches of her brother-in-laws and they passed the light to us and we passed the light to everyone in the room. When everyone's torches were lit up, Teressa walked down the stage to the casket, we followed her, forming a circle. We all then shifted to our primes.
"To Voughn Fiel, a king respected and feared. May the goddess embrace you as you join her." Teressa said. She then directed the flame of her torch to the casket and we followed.
Father, I may not have spent a good time with you, and you may have done things that jeopardized my life, I'm still thankful to you, for everything you did, surely molded me into what I am now. And I'm sorry. Forgive me.
I just had to recite in my head as the casket is slowly consumed by the flames and eventually we had to raise our torches and step back from it. Marcos raised his hand and placed the burning casket on a spherical blanket of air so that it won't put on fire anything else in the room. There was a meaningful silence and the lights were dimmed but the room feels hot because of the heat caused by everybody's torches until nothing remained of the casket but ash. Teressa passed her torch to Marcos as she held up a vase and by a wave of Marcos' hand, the ashes were poured into the vase. When the queen mother shut the lid and held her torch again, we all marched back to the stage.
Everybody held up their torches and Marcos and I encompassed our hands as a mild breeze traveled across the room, turning off all the lights from the torches. Smoke engulfed the room for awhile and when it subsided, Teressa stood in front of the crowd.
"There had been a lot of twists and turns that happened in the family on the past few days. But our responsibility as rulers shall not be forgotten. As one fell, another one shall rise." she said, motioning her hand and Marcos came to her, kneeling on one knee. Somebody handed her the king's crown and intricately, she put it on her son's head saying a blessing. When he stood up, the crowd erupted into cheers.
"Behold, the new witch king!"
We stood up and bowed to him. Another witch came up the stage bringing more crowns and Marcos faced us with a smile.
"Princess Molly!" Marcos placed the tiara on her head and she stood up.
"Princess Marissa!"
"Princess Marianne!"
"Prince Mark!" each one of them were crowned in the same fashion. And when Marcos walked towards me, I felt a certain leap on my chest.
"Princess Vienna!" I don't know what to say or how to feel when the tiara was placed on my head and as I stood up to face the crowd.
This is what I've become. I never thought this would be real, not until Marcos stepped beside us and swirled his hands together, which we copied. He then launched it up the high ceiling and sparks of colors appeared. We launched ours too as everybody cheered at the indoor fireworks.
"Give honnor to the new leaders!"
