* If you quit on your dream and give up. You'll never know how great you can be. *

" I am really happy, Mary has a brother like you who is willing to guide her all the way... " Malisa said sincerely as she took the last sip of her tea, before dropping the glass carefully on saucer which was on the table.
" Hm... She's also lucky to have a sister like you, you know... There's a limit to what I can do. When she gets to her middle teens there would be a lot of things I won't be able to help her with both physically, emotionally and mentally... "
" You are right, I guess... "
" By the way, how did you cope in your middle teens? " Aiden inquired...
" Well...it wasn't that difficult as i kept all my thoughts to myself as only spoke when I was asked to. I never shared my dreams and desires with anyone not with my mom as I knew she'll only end up laughing me to scorn if I did. So I kept it all to myself. "
" Hm... That most be hard. "
" Yeah... It was. But it got better with time. I soon got used to not having anyone around to share my thoughts and emotions with. "
" It's no wonder you are strong mentally... "
" You think I am? "
" Yep... I know you are... "
" Hm... Why don't you tell me about your relationship with your childhood friend? Because from what, Mary said, you aren't really close to anyone apart from him... "
" Yeah... She was right. "
" So? "
" Hm... We had known each other since elementary school... " Aiden began his story with a feeling of nostalgia.
" He was one year my senior in school, yet we were very close. While I always talked on becoming, the usual. He on the other hand was different. He always wanted to be in the mafia. "
" Oh... "
" I always wondered where he got that idea from as his parents were medical experts and his older siblings too were into other white collar jobs... But soon I got to realize that he got his idea from the movies he indulged himself in watching during his leisure time... From there he got to see the life of a mafia... And he dreamed to become one of them as he believed that only when he's their leader can he be truly powerful... "
" Hm... "
" We lost contacts due to me losing my parents and having to move from one state to another... "
" Oh... So how did you both meet again? "
" You wouldn't believe how we met.." Aiden smiled...
" Oh... Why? "
" Well... Mary somehow fell into the hands of kidnappers which were sent by some competitors. I was very worried and called on the search party... While we were still on that. I received a call from unknown number saying that my sister was found and was currently in the Mafia's king mansion. "
Aiden took a deep breath before Continuing.
" I doubted it at first as I was wondering if it was true or just a trap. As it felt too unbelievable to be true. Why would the mafia boss get involved with my sister? "
" Well... Your reasons are justified. "
" Yeah... But after some minutes of thoughts, I decided to go and that's when I got a shocker! My sister who I was very worried about was playing chess with the infamous mafia king... And when I thought I couldn't be more shocked. He looked up and greeted me. I was completely stunned. The infamous mafia king was non other than my childhood friend? "
" Later, while chatting he told about how coincidental it was that his men rescued Mary from the hands of the kidnappers... So I didn't need to worry about owing him one. "
" Hm... "
" From the story he told me about how he became a mafia king. I realized that it doesn't matter how big or unachievable a dream might seem. As long as one continues to pursue it with all of one's heart and is persistence then nothing will stop one from achieving it. And also, failing at something doesn't mean one is a failure. The true failures are those who never tried or gave up on the way to achieving their dreams. "
" You are right. I even heard a quote which says. " You'll fail your way to success. "
" Right... "
" So I guess... We should always believe in the beauty of our dreams. We should follow our dreams with everything we have as they know the way... Persistence should also be our motto. " .
" Yeah... You know, I always admired how Persistent you are on your dreams... "
" Really? " Malisa said surprisingly.
" Yeah... "
" Well... My dreams where the only thing that kept me going. They are like fuel to my fire. Anytime I feel like giving. I remember my dream and get back up! Because I realized that chasing one's dreams is never easy but one should keep pushing! "
" Hm... You are right... " Aiden replied thoughtfully...
He recalled how he always had lots of dreams as a child. Though he wasn't Persistent enough to go after them and ended up giving up on them...
But well...
It's too late for regrets now...
He just have to focus on the future ahead...
No matter how much it hurts..
He just have to...
.....
A/N : Poor Aiden. What do you think, guys?
