Chapter 42 Them Little Secret
Lorie took the bottle away from his reach, "You are not doing that to yourself again."
He shook his head and rubbed his eyes of tender tears trying to creep out. "Fine…" he brought weed; he had an already made joint "Then I can get stoned?"
Lorie clocked her eyes on him, angrily, and snatched the joint from his hand, dumping it immediately inside the waste bin "Damn it Dave, you don't smoke in here"
"Whatever, I can do it all when I go home…"
"Yeah, you can do whatever you like at home not—"
He put on a threatening face, "I will overdose myself with pills…"
"Stop…" Lorie calmed down, and held his hands, as if Dave was a jewel, then she stared right into his eyes, as if she was sharing in his pains; obviously, she really cared. "Please don't beat yourself. You will be fine. I promise" Dave smiled, and Lorie perched a reassuring kiss on his cheeks.
I was still there, looking at them, but my mind was troubled, going through the possibilities of being an evil; a reason for a broken marriage.
I didn't know why it felt like a lot of burden, but I knew for sure that if I was the one, I wouldn't feel good. But did I regret sleeping with him ? No, after all, I didn't ask for it, he did.
Someone called for Lorie from the VIP room, "I will be right back" he said to Dave, and left.
Dave turned to me, and swaved back his hair "You look good today" I was there, but I wasn't in the moment. He looked confused when he didn't get a response, and tapped me, "Arianne?"
I was jolted back to the moment by his slap "Yeah? umm I'm sorry about um…" I grabbed the bottle of Tequila, I had nearly finished the drink without even realizing it until I poured it into my glass and the glass cup was only filled halfway.
"Oops" I checked the bottle before my eyes, it was dried up. Frustrated by its demise, I kept it on the table, to manage the little one I have.
"Are you okay?" Dave asked, concerned and puzzled at my behavior. "Oh yeah of course. I'm just short of this…" I emptied the tequila into my mouth, and let out a little satisfactory exhale.
"I'm sorry…" I said.
"Sorry about what?"
I looked at him and was silent for a moment, until my rear view met Lorie coming out from the VIP room "The divorce." I replied. Turning to the TV and turning my back to the bar.
"Oh. Nothing to be sorry for, not your doing…"
My curiosity was jolted "Really?!"
He chuckled, puzzledly "What's with you today haha, I mean, it's no one's fault that she cheated, fucking broke my life… she was everything to me, but it is what it is," he shrugged.
Now, I was getting to the depth of the story, I dropped the TV remote, and paid more attention to him "she cheated?"
"Mmhmm…" he started tapping his fingers on the table, and drew a look at me "she cheated, and divorced me"
I fixed my eyes up, drawing a low line of confusion around my lips and cheek "is that even possible? So you're saying she divorced you because she cheated?"
I was going to welcome the feeling of love for the woman for being loving, thoughtful and remorseful enough to dissolve the marriage because she wasn't fit enough for him, but the feeling was shattered immediately when Lorie said the most bizzare thing I have ever heard "Yup. Divorced him because he caught her cheating"
Wow, "That's a total jerk, imagine" I snarled, clicking my tongue "Such a wack"
"A total nut job" Lorie said.
Dave was left laughing "That she is." And at that moment we looked like a group of best friends, or better put; a family. It was adorable and lovely.
A few moments later, Dave was still with us at the bar. Lorie had brought out another bottle of Tequila for us to enjoy, not to mourn on.
Dave was relieved, I guessed being with us, the talks and the feelings helped lighten the weight of his unfortunate situation.
But I was the happiest. It was good to know that I wasn't the cause of their broken marriage. But what was ironic was the fact that the groom also slept with someone else, so they both certainly wouldn't work.
Dave raised the bottle to pour tequila into my glass but I objected "Nah, I have had enough for today" he filled his own cup. "Not me, not anytime soon haha"
I held his hands in the assuring clasp of my hands, and looked into his eyes and beautified the moment with my words "You will be fine, I promise"
And after a moment of sweet silence "Yeah? You will be his bride now?" Said Marriane, mocking me. Dave smiled "Mmmm…" dropping his glass away from his mouth
"She looks the part, can as well make a better wife" they laughed. And I was like "whatever" taking the bottle and feeling up my cup.
Wife, would I ever be a good and dutiful wife? And I certainly do not care about getting married. Maybe, just maybe I should start putting it into my list of things to do with and in my life?
The time would come, I guessed, but men? I wasn't going to run the risk of getting my heart broken again, instead of being the victim again, I would be the villain.
I had no idea why Lorie and Dave were eyeing each other and giggling, or were they planning something against me? They dared not.
"Oh! I forgot to get something this afternoon… you know for my—"
"Your special burger from the store. Of course you forgot 'cause you have been busy with Dave all day!" I said, trying not to sound mean, or affected by their shit in any way.
It was already 3pm, Dave had gone out and was back for like 2 hours, and had been spending the time with Lorie at the bar.
She rolled her eyes, "Well, I need you to…" she brought out a $10 bill from her purse "Get the package for me at, you know where the store is"
It was not all the time that I went on errands for her, but most times, I obliged because she was at the moment, my favourite person. But something was off; she needed me to go out. It seemed like she needed some space. What were they going to talk about? I didn't care anyway. Not my business.
I took the money from her hand, and went out.
In no time, I was faced with the street. I walked up to the kiosk which was kitty-corner from Crane's.
I stopped at the newspaper corner to check what the papers were blabbing about. Since the drug deal and police chase, I got closer to newspapers. Maybe, to be on the know, if they would come for an escapee.
"Help me" muttered a wretched beggar beside the stand. He stretched his weary hand for a tip, and I immediately remembered Brody. And yet again, I was panicked by guilt. I trembled, and handed the man $20. He looked like he had won a lottery. I didn't wait for a special thanks. I hurried away because he reminded me of Brody, and Ignited pain and fear.
I rushed back to Crane's with the burger, and when I got inside, I didn't see Lorie nor Dave at the bar.
"Well well, leaving the bar…" I looked around the room. And went to sit on a chair at the bar, dropping the burger at the bar top.
A few moments later I heard a noise at the back of the bar. Curious, I walked to the back but nothing was unusual, I heard some whispers, and I traced it to the toilet.
I reached to the toilet, and placed my ear at the door; it sounded like some kind of rush, it was probably animals or human beings, but if it were human beings, what the fuck would they be doing?
My hand mistakenly touched the door knob, and it opened, forcing me in, and Lo and Behold, my eyes came upon two pairs of hot breasts with their succulent nipples puked out. Their panties laid on the floor, their breathing was profuse as they were kissing and fingering each other's vagina. Lorie's pussy was shaved, and she had piercings on her labia.
And there was some big yummy cock drilling their holes, it was Dave… threesome with some stranger in the toilet? Wow.
She hurriedly reached for her panties, "Jesus Christ Arianne! What are you staring at?" She scowled. I was speechless, I looked at Dave, he looked away. I just held the door knob and closed the door.
