They were rather lucky enough to see the job vacancy of wanted waiters In a restaurant. On seeing the vacancy notification, Sunni smiled. "Now we go in there and try our possible luck. " She looked at Lucas. "Let me tell you. It's never easy to get a job you know. It's one of the hardest things ever! I've been into such situations like this and I'm aware that we're likely to be turned down on this one so we have to be persistent. Okey?" "Isn't it about going in there and asking for the position and then start work?" She almost laughed out loud at his theory. Life would be damn easy I that was how one got a job "Don't be silly" She said rolling her eyes as she led the way into the restaurant. He followed behind. Sunni and Lucas requested to meet the manger for the vacancy notification and they were directed upstairs to the manager's office. Both of them arrived there as Sunni knocked on the door. After a while, a reply came from inside. "Come in" invited the a female voice. Both entered as Sunni looked up a the young lady who sat behind the office table. She was plainly dressed in a red suit and had all possible indication of being the manager. "Hello..." Sunni said as the woman looked up at them. Immediately her eyes fell on Lucas. she froze as a smile sheepishly escaped her lips. "We're here for the job" Sunni said plainly. The woman gave no reply but still had her eyes on the dashing Lucas. He was indeed a rare beauty in her eyes and she was caught by his charms. Sunni was confused for a while as she followed the manager's eyes to meet the ignorant Lucas who was looking around the office place. Sunni didn't quite understand the scenario but she interrupted anyways. "Eh.... hello miss!" She snapped as the manager jerked back to reality. She looked up to Sunni with a frown. "What?" "Well...about the vacancy....we came for the job" "Oh...." The woman looked at Lucas again with a smile. "You two really came for the job?" "Eh ....yeah" Sunni was still tracing her gaze to Lucas. what was going on here?? she couldn't help but wonder. "Sure....you got the job" The woman announced Immediately, sunni's expression lit with a smile and surprise. Really?? She got the job, easily?? "Really? we get the job?! " She said excitedly The woman looked at her. "Who said 'you' got the job? I mean this fine young man here gets the job" She said. Sunni's smile immediately faded away in shock and disappointment. How is that even possible? how can the job be given to him just like that and she gets nothing? "Eh... Ma'am....how is that even possible....we came here together....how come I get nothing?" She questioned. "I'm the manager. So I decide who gets the job" The woman persisted. "But ... really. How come....we are here together so we have to be employed same ... please" Sunni requested but the woman was still benched on her words. "It's already settled. You can go now and else I call the security" Sunni found herself leaving the office with Lucas. She was really Annoyed and disappointed. it was now obvious that it was because of his looks that she gave Lucas the job just like that. "What now?" He asked as they walked down the stairs. "What else...you're gonna work and I leave. it's a good thing after all. at least you get the job. and maybe a house later....you can leave "Sunni was now seeing things from the bright side. perhaps this was a means to escape him. "Leave?" She repeated. "But I don't want to." He stated. "Don't be silly. You have the grab the opportunity and work. Then you can earn enough money and repay me. Okey? bye" She happily turned to leave but he followed her behind. She was almost out of the door when she felt someone behind her. she quickly looked back only to see him. "you? why are you following me?" "I said ..I'll follow you wherever you go and will not work" He said. "You.... How can you be so stupid and use such cliché lines? Gosh....so annoying." She scratched her head in irritation. what was she going to do now. I'd be terrible if he'd actually work and follow her around. "Okey ...I'll stay. Now go and start work"
*********** Sunni spent hours sitting the restaurant at an angle. She was typically bored with nothing to do. She only sat there at the table alone, looking around the restaurant as she watched people come, eat, chat and go. it was indeed a boring thing to do but she really had no choice left. From time to time she checked her phone, opening her detective site to see if anyone had placed any cases but nothing. The site only has hundred visits in total with no comment or rating. It was a discouraging aspect that she still had hopes for. She would also look up at Lucas who was busy working and serving meals. it was impressive how he was such a fast learner and served the meals professionally. She wondered why he still acted stupid with her. Another annoying aspect she observed around him was the fact that girls in the restaurant found him dashingly handsome and we're crazy over him. They would always request for his number which he certainly had no clue off and then request a picture with. One even went to the point of a picture with him where she kissed his cheeks. The image irritated Sunni as she rolled her eyes. For a reason, she felt angry about this Angry at Lucas and the girl! "What a womanizer and a shameless girl" She commented. Jas she angrily sat there, sipping the glass of water she had ordered like an hour ago, she cursed beneath her breath. Then , Lucas approached her sitting down opposite her. She angrily looked up at him. "Why are you here? Are you done flirting?" "Flirting? what's that?" She rolled her eyes "Forget it" "Can we go home now?" He asked. "How come? It's only two in the afternoon. Work should be closing around Seven or eight. Still a long way. so....don't even think about it" she snapped going through her phone. "What are you doing?" "What do you know? I'm busy looking for cases to solve. This way I won't be idle" She said "Cases like?" "Well...theft. someone looking for something or for someone. Or something more extreme, for a detective" She stated. Just then they heard a girl yell in the restaurant "Help! Can't find my purse anymore!" Both of them looked the girl and then at each other. "You mean this?" Lucas asked.
