Chapter 36
FEW MINUTES AGO.......
Lucas arrived at the agency by feet as he entered the agency in search of Sunni. But entering her office and looking around for her, he didn't find her which instantly got him worried.
He searched around for a while but didn't find him anyways. Luckily he met Ryan coming out of his office. He stopped him and then asked.
"Where is Sunni?" He asked as Ryan hesitated for a while in thoughts before replying.
"Oh yeah...she left a while ago saying that she had to visit someone or something like that." Ryan explained as Lucas quickly left the Agency building.
He was outside looking around. There was no place he knew was good enough to start his search for her and this quickly reminded him of what he used to track her.
Immediately, he closed his eyes for a while to track Sunni and at the moment felt she was in danger. Having tracked the place, he quickly took off without hesitation.
At a point, he had vanished and then appeared at the street where he looked and saw Sunni bring attacked by the demon. He Wanted to go immediately but Dave Lin had jumped out to help her out but still it didn't seem like he was going to stop him so he took came to the rescue on seeing the demon summoning up his powers to make them vanish...
Lucas gripped his hands as the powers puffed away on his touch. He glared at the man with his eyes blue in fury. The man who had his eyes purple stared at the familiar face as a smirk escaped his lips. They communicated with their eyes.
"You finally did come.....I was wondering why you haven't arrived." He Said.
"What are you doing here? And what do you intend on doing?"
"Having fun? And probably gonna take you down as well" The smile in his eyes were mocking.
"In your dreams" Lucas was about summoning a spell through his grip but the man quickly vanished.
Lucas was surprised at this. He didn't expect him to he suddenly strong and being able to escape his magic grip. This could only mean that his enemy had gotten more powerful through the years...
Putting the thought aside, he looked back at Dave Lin who was trying to hold the weak Sunni up.
"Let go of her....I'll take her home" Lucas insisted trying to grab Sunni by her hand and away from Lucas but Sunni deviated her hands away from his grip.
Seeing Lucas gave Sunni the mixed feeling. He still reminded him of the kiss from the previous night, which she still hadn't forgiven him off. And also recalling the fact of him being the murderous killer whom the city had feared for years now.
Although she hadn't been current on the case of the night comet visitor, she wasn't ignorant of it. she knew about it but for a fact it didn't bother her. She always had this that she was safe from it. But still she had heard the news of the people and family who had died from his ruthless acts and she wasn't happy about it.
Sunni could make out the fact that the non human who had also wanted to expose Lucas today might be an enemy or something but she didn't get how she was involved.
Sunni let out a couch as she looked up at Dave Lin. "Please.....take me away" she said. She would say that her main point of annoyance towards him was the fact of the kiss ... again! But the mixed feeling she was suffering from on knowing his true identity was also a point. She was still pondering on this fact and needed time to think it through.
"I can take you home...to the hospital, anywhere you want" Lucas said as they had slowly turned to leave. They stopped as Sunni pulled herself together.
She told him. "You should go back now " She said "I don't need your help" She said as Dave Lin slowly led he off. They were obviously heading to his car so as to go to the hospital.
Lucas stood there watching them leave. He felt a bit disappointed. This feeling he had wad odd. He had never experienced it before. The feeling of disappointed and a bit sad that she had turned him down. She remembered what Hana had said. She wondered if she was actually unhappy about the kiss and wouldn't talk to him or go with him anymore?
The thought of it just made lucas unhappy. He didn't understand why but that was just how he felt. Sad.

Sunni sat at the passengers seat as Dave drove along. She was looking outside the window thinking about Lucas She wondered if what she did was right to him She wasn't gonna feel guilty right? No, she wasn't gonna feel guilty. This was a means of justifying her anger, Right? So she had done the right thing any angry other person would do.
"Are . ....you okey?" Dave found himself asking. Unlike the cold him, he had been here stealing glimpses at him and wondering if she was was okey from the injury and perhaps from the heartfelt quarrel with the guy whom he obviously didn't know.
"Uh....I'm okey" Sunni replied. Then a question had come to her mind and she took it as a perfect opportunity to start up a conversation. Then he would thank her at least. "Well...how did you know where I was? Did you follow me?"
Dave Lin was guilty of following him, but it was for a good reason right? " Well when I came to work...I saw you leaving in a hurry. I wondered where you could be off to in such a hurry. And curiosity I followed along" He explained, it was half true right?!
"Oh...I see" She said looking ahead " Thanks"
"Thanks for what?"
Sunni smiled" For saving me back then....and....and for caring." she Said.
The compliment made Dave feel awkward. He wasn't the touchy feely type so all this made him look soft and awkward. "Forget it.... It's all in the past"
They were quiet for a while as Sunni wondered what he must be thinking of her after seeing a monster attack. She only hoped he found out nothing and she didn't bother asking. it was only stirring up the possibility of him suspecting her.
"Well... about yesterday....Thanks "
"What for ?" He asked.
"Nothing much....just for agreeing to share your overcoat with me...I and keeping me company. Even if It was crazily cold in there .. Having someone with me keeps it warm, so Thanks"
Dave really felt awkward at the thought as he quickly cleared his throat to cover up. Then he looked at her "Don't you even bring these two topics you apologized to me about in public...Else you will be fired" He threatened. He didn't know how to react if he was found being soft.
"Oh ...I see" Sunni said as a smile escaped her lips secretly. "Was the cold Detective general being shy?"Download Novelah App
