Chapter 27

“Why that there is Something wrong. It was very clear to me earlier, I was already carrying my basket and we were about to go home. ”
People try to remember the whole thing but it never comes back to their minds. They looked at each other and what weird reactions and signs they were doing. They want to be clear about what happened but their memories of the vampires have been erased from their minds.
"I came to you, mother, didn't I?" Another girl asked her mother and she nodded.
"Yes, then all of a sudden we're here in the mango tree and it's already night," her mother added.
"And why am I so sweaty?" the old man also asked and dusted himself.
"Me too, it's like we're scared of something," added another man.
"And I know I was still on top of the mango tree earlier," a man also looked up at the top of the mango tree. "Then suddenly I'm here under—"
“I feel like I fell. My hip hurts." An old man touched his hip and put his hat on his head.
"Why is there blood on my foot?" Everyone looked at a woman who was lighting her foot with her phone.
“Oh God!, what happened to your foot? Did you stumble?" Another woman asked.
"I don't know," the girl replied as she shook her head.
“I really can't explain why I have tears on my face. Then Sandro is leaning on my lap." Halia looked at the woman who spoke and she was the wife of the man who had been bitten earlier.
"What is that? Did something happen a while ago, as we lost in our memory?" A man asked as he thought.
"Maybe it's because Dolfo's son is unconscious." The man pointed at Uzenio.
Halia looked at Uzenio who was already in her mother's arms. Marco looked down at Uzenio because he was currently standing.
He sat down next to Uzenio again and checked his whole body.
"Uzenio?" Her father whispered to Uzenio. But he was completely unconscious.
Halia just avoided looking at the people who never stopped asking about what happened. She knew they had lost their memories because of what a vampire had done. If she's not mistaken, that vampire is too dangerous like their prince.
But they are just holding back because of the Werewolves. She thinks Brimo already knows about the vampires but they are mortal enemies. Halia remembered the name of their prince. He heard from Brimo that Torth was his name.
And the vampire Torth is not just a prince of vampires. He has powers that no other vampire has. He could copy himself and still have the same strength.
Halia was starting to doubt herself. She knew that without Brimo she had nothing against vampires and Torth got her.
If she remained weak, as she is now, she would not be able to fulfill her role as the savior of the people. But she also cannot abdicate her obligation. She was chosen as the owner of the magical bow and she had no reason to back down.
People decided to go home full of questions to themselves. It was better for her mother not to speak so that she would not be bothered. And another thing, if she says about those things no one will believe her.
Especially people are always used to being to see is to believe. So even if that happened, as long as they didn’t remember anything. They will not believe it.
They took Uzenio to their house and his parents were worried and panicked. Dolfo asked her father but he just lied so that Dolfo wouldn't have too many questions.
"Halia," her mother whispered to her
They are currently on their way home. She was just in the back seat sitting on, while her mother was next to her father who was driving.
"Mother," she whispered.
“I have been asking you about Brimo earlier. But you don't answer me. Aren't you worried about him? "Her mother asked her sarcastically.
She just lowered her head and couldn't answer her again. She did not know how to explain to her mother about Brimo. If she lied, she couldn't think of a story.
“I am having a hard time with our situation. If the vampires attacked us earlier, what about the other next days?" Her father complained while driving, worried and frightened. "I also doubt that something bad might have happened to Brimo. Where is that boy? How is he now?" he asked.
Her mother took a deep breath. "That's what I'm asking, but your daughter never give me an answer—"
"She's home, Mother," Halia replied suddenly, knowing that her mother would not stop her from asking questions as long as she didn't give her an answer.
“Did he go home? What time? Why didn't he say goodbye to us?" Her mother's voice rose as she asked. Brimo was used to saying goodbye to her parents when he went back home and that didn't happen earlier.
She gulped uneasily and thought of an answer. But she still couldn't think and she remained silent.
“Did something bad happen to Brimo? Why are you speechless there?" Her father shouted at her and they stared at her through the interior mirror of their car.
They're repeatedly asked her but she did not answer until they reached their house. At their dining table, while they were eating no one spoke between them.
They all seem to have been traumatized especially her mother. Her father, on the other hand, sometimes became complacent because he did not remember anything. But there was still the fear that things might happen again that he could not remember.
While she is contemplative and anxious for many things. Especially with the vampires, she was set to face but her ability was not yet ready. She did not know how to match their movements even though the arrow she was holding was so powerful that she could command and she could ask.
Because the vampires move even faster than she utters the words she says with her bow.
Another thing of her thoughts was, Uzenio. She knew that Uzenio's memory of what had happened earlier had not been erased because he was unconscious. And she worries that Uzenio might remember about Brimo’s transformation and he’ll tell his parents or he’ll tell other people as well.
Brimo would be dangerous if Uzenio did that. She was gasped as it entered her mind. She had not finished her meal when she stood up with a sigh of nervousness
“W-why?” Suddenly fear appeared on her mother’s face as she asked.
She knew in herself that she shouldn't act like she did, because it was automatic in her parent's minds that there might be a vampire around. But she also couldn't adjust herself because she was worried about Brimo.
She ran to the living room and ignored her parents ’reactions. She quickly looked for her phone because she could not find it on their round table. He knelt and peeked at it under their couch but she saw nothing.
Her sweat started to drip but she couldn't see her phone. She even removed the cover of their couch and her phone was still not there.
“Halia, why?” Her father quickly approached her and grabbed her by the shoulder. She tapped her forehead in extreme concern and ran to the kitchen.
"Halia!" Her father called to her again when she could not pay attention to him.
When she got to the kitchen, her phone was not there. She peeked under the table but she saw nothing either. She was already in tears and panic with great worry that Uzenio might be awake at this time.
She had to stop Uzenio from telling the truth about Brimo. As she kept finding her phone, it got to the point that she collided with her parents next to her wherever she was going.
She ran to her room and looked for her phone there but she also found nothing.
"Halia can you tell us what you're looking for?" Her father shouted at her pissed off.
She was stunned by the loud of his voice. So she stopped and cried.
"Halia—"
"I lost my phone, Father!" She shrieked while crying.
She was already sweating with nervousness and anxiety. She couldn't help to see people were chasing Brimo just because they found out he was a Werewolf. Is when she can't find her phone she can't talk to Uzenio not to tell people about Brimo.
Her father looked at her in astonishment and speak, "You just lost your phone, that's how you cried—"
“I have to stop Uzenio! I don’t want Brimo to get hurt! I need to see my phone! " She shouted in complication using her parents to be confused as to who would understand her.
“What? I can't understand you! " Her mother asked in surprise and her forehead was furrowed as she looked at her.
"I have to stop Uzenio, Mother," she sobbed as if begging her mother.
“Stop Uzenio? But he is unconscious! And what are you going to stop him from? " her mother asked confusedly and her parents just looked at each other.
She just averted her eyes because she had a hard time explaining. She was not on herself as she run down the living room and head to the door.
She was about to open it when the phone suddenly rang. But that wasn’t even the tone of her phone. Her mother came down with her forehead still furrowed. She headed to the round table of their living room and took her bag. Inside, she picked up her phone.
“Who called?” Her father asked her mother.
Her mother looked at her phone and looked at her father.
"It's Dolfo. Maybe Uzenio must be awake."
