Chapter 29

Halia ran towards Uzenio and Brimo. Uzenio immediately got down from the top Brimo's wolf form and hugged Halia.
"Thank you and you're safe," Halia said gratefully to Uzenio and Uzenio patted her back.
Uzenio's family hurriedly approached them. Uzenio quickly broke free from Halia's embrace and immediately hugged his mother.
“Mother—”
“Where are you from? Did you get hurt? Do you know who or what took you?"Uzenio's mother asked one after another.
Uzenio could not answer yet when his father pulled him and hugged him.
“Thank you! Thank god! You're safe! I'm so worried about you! "His father also sobbed.
While Dolfo hugged Uzenio, Uneza also hugged him from behind.
"I'm fine, Father," Uzenio patted his father's back.
While embracing the family, Halia hugged Brimo.
“Thank you! I have no one else to approach for help, just only you," she whispered to Brimo. Brimo pressed his head against her.
"Halia?" Uzenio's mother said calmly to her and she turned to her. "Can I talk to him? I just want to thank him," she asked her.
Halia smiled and looked at Brimo. She turned to Uzenio's mother again and nodded. Uzenio's mother hesitated to face Brimo as if she was still scared.
"You're very kind. Thank you for saving my son," Uzenio's mother whispered to Brimo.
Karina and Marco approached Halia. Karina's hesitation was still there but Marco's eyes could also see the amazement.
"I hope to know you as a person," Marco wished to Brimo.
Other policemen who were also there and Uzenio's family looked at him. They were all surprised except for the people they met in the forest to look for Halia then.
"P-person?" Uneza asked stunned.
"He's a human, Uneza. He only can change into a human," Dolfo explained.
Uneza's eyes widened as she looked at Halia. Halia just smiled.
“If he is human, do you know him Halia?” The police asked her.
She gulped, looking at Brimo, and she faced the people again. “You can see him at night as a werewolf, but I have to hide his true identity. He is ready to help us. The truth is, he has been watching over us for a long time, I was the first to perish so I was the first to be saved," Halia explained. "We can only thank him for his help, it was too personal if we're going to find out his personality as a human. He is just like us who lives a normal life as human beings," she added.
“Halia is right!" Halia was surprised when Uzenio spoke. “We don't need to know who he is anymore, and another thing, he will be in danger if he reveals his identity. He is our important friend, and we need him," Uzenio said and looked at Brimo.
Halia's smile widened at Uzenio. “We need to be careful now. I know some of us here have seen what I have seen. They are dangerous and this werewolf is our only hope to fight them," Uzenio added.
“They? Who are they?" Uneza asked in surprise.
"If you were at the mango plantation before—"
"Didn't your memory of Uzenio be erased?" Marco suddenly asked Uzenio.
Everyone looked at Marco.
"No, Father," Halia interjected. "He was unconscious at that time. So they didn't manipulate him," she explained and looked at Uzenio.
"What do you mean?" Dolfo asked in surprise and his reaction was noticeable.
"You know what we mean Dolfo," Marco said meaningfully looking at Dolfo.
"Vampires," Karina said. She tried to keep her heart calm as she spoke. "We saw a group of vampires earlier—"
"Group of vampires?" Uzenio asked in shock.
Karina nodded. "And creatures like him." Karina pointed at Brimo.
The police were shocked, especially those who did not know.
“Group? That means there are many more?" asked the police who spoke to Halia earlier.
"And they will increase," Halia interjected. "We have to be careful. I know some of them have already faced them, or they may have hypnotized you, so you don't remember. That's why you stayed no one knows now. But here's the truth. " She stopped speaking and looked at them all. "They are already in our area, in our town."
"Halia is right, we need the cooperation to the policemen" Dolfo agreed and he don't have an intention to focus his flashlight on the chest of the police. Only then did she see that the name of the police was Leo. "I'm one of those who saw vampires. They're also human, but they have fangs and red eyes. I know it's hard to believe, but you don't have to know before you believe," Dolfo continued.
He looked at Brimo. “This Werewolf is one of my proofs. Marco, Karina, Arthuro, Connor, SPO4 Raymond, SPO3 Leo, and my son. They were my companions in the forest when we looked for Halia. In that forest we saw vampires," he added. Everyone looked at Brimo.
The other policemen looked at each other as if they should believe or not. Brimo pushed Halia slightly. She looked at him and Brimo looked at her as if he was telling her that she needed to stop talking to them.
Halia confronted the policemen. "Vampires are powerful," she said immediately. Everyone looked at her. "They can hear even from afar. They can also smell us. So maybe it's better if we talk somewhere else, not here because it might suddenly they rushed at us,' she reminded.
Marco nodded. “My daughter has a point. We shouldn't talk here because it's dangerous," he agreed.
"It's better that we just talk some other day, maybe tomorrow," SPO3 Leo spoke and faced the people. "Let's just go home now, especially since it's midnight. Uzenio is with us now, there is no reason to stay here anymore," he added and turned to Brimo. “I know that you are also human and you understand what we are saying. Thank you so much for your help, our friend. "
Halia's smile widened, and she caressed Brimo's hair. "You can go home so that you can rest," she said softly, and then kissed his thick fur.
Brimo looked at her first and then turned to Uzenio.
"Goodbye dog," Uzenio teased him softly, and he growled. "Why? Isn't that true that you're a dog?"  Uzenio joked seriously.
Brimo pushed Uzenio and then he immediately ran away from them. Uzenio was currently sitting on the ground and Halia just laughed.
"He's not a dog, okay?" Halia glared at Uzenio then she laughed. Uzenio stood up and dusted himself. Even the people with them also laughed. "The dog was barking, but he wasn't. He howls," she corrected.
"He's still a dog!" Uzenio barked at her and pointed at her face. It was as if he was telling her that her boyfriend was a dog.
When Brimo left, they immediately left. Marco was driving quietly home to their house. Every tree they passed Halia couldn't help but be scared. She feels that vampires will attack them anytime.
When they arrived at their house she first observed around before entering their house. When she thought there was nothing strange around them, she followed her parents.
She was about to go up to her room when her father suddenly spoke. "The things we did were right?"
She stopped walking on the stairs and faced her father. "Which one, Father?"
"The ..." he made a weird sign. "The one we told the other and policemen about vampires. And the werewolves showed up to them," he replied.
"Yeah," Karina interjected and looked at her
as well. "Maybe they'll think of going to the werewolves in the forest. Or maybe they'll find out if the vampires are real or not and they might be damned."
Her mother had a point. What if that happens? How will she stop people?
“Then we need to contact SPO3 Leo. He must tell his companions not to go into the forest, " she answered.
Her mother sighed, “I don’t know. I think they're just pretending to listen but they won't follow. "
