Chapter 31

Despite the fear and apprehension due to the situation in their town, Marco remained calm in washing his car. He was currently rubbing sponge with car-wash soap on the car window when something struck his vision of the human reflection in the side mirror.
It just means there is someone around him. When he turned behind him, he saw their gate open and no one was there. He was astonished and thought. He looked in the side mirror again but there was no more human reflection there.
He just shook his head and then proceeded to wash his car.
"Marco, did you see Halia?" Asked his wife as she came out of their kitchen. She was still holding a spoon as if she was cooking.
"In the yard at the back of the house, with Uzenio and Brimo. Why?" He answered and asked. He did not look at his wife because he was busy with what he was doing.
"It's time to eat. Aren't you done there yet?" She asked.
He quickly took the water hose and then squirted the water to rinse the car. "I'll just finish this, I'll call them."
His wife returned inside the house and he hurried to finish rinsing his car. After he rinsed his car he immediately wiped it.
He was currently wiping the side mirror of his car when his eyes again hit the reflection of a person.
He turned to see it again. When he turned around, he saw the man standing right outside their gate. His forehead furrowed when he noticed him staring at him intently.
When he stared at the man, he seemed to feel strange. He felt the man invite him to come. After that, he did not know what had happened.
"Father!"
Marco blinked his eyes when he heard his daughter's voice. He was also startled and her lips parted when he saw the man slowly kneel in front of him. On his chest, he saw the penetrating hand with long and sharp claws.
When he looked straight ahead, his lips just parted when he saw Brimo. Brimo's eyes close as he kills the vampire who wants to hurt him. Suddenly his chest heaved with scare.
The vampire's body is consumed and turned to ashes. When the vampire turned to ashes he looked at Brimo's hand. He saw Brimo holding a knife.
He gulped because that was not what he had seen before. He knew that hand with long sharp claws. But for now, what he sees Brimo holding is a knife.
"Father," Halia whispered to him.
He felt his sweat dripping down his forehead out of fear and shock as well. He wiped it immediately and then looked at Brimo.
"Are you okay, Uncle?" Brimo asked as if nothing had happened.
His mouth was still parted as he nodded at Brimo and wiped the sweat again.
"Avoid looking into the eyes of anyone you don't know, Uncle," Brimo ordered and tapped him on the shoulder. "It's dangerous for you, especially since they can easily hypnotize you."
He nodded again and looked at Halia who immediately hugged him. As Halia hugged, he also saw Uzenio staring at them.
"Even in the morning, they still victimize people," Uzenio muttered, shaking his head.
He looked at Brimo and then swallowed his saliva. "H-How did you do that? The vampires moved in just a second," he asked, full of astonishment. Halia let go of her hug from him and shifted her gaze between him and Brimo. "That's impossible that he didn't feel you when you approached," he continued.
The tension in Uzenio and Halia's reaction is noticeable. Brimo remained to stare at Marco for a long moment before answering. "I also can move like their ability to move, Uncle," Brimo replied calmly.
He noticed Halia biting her lower lip. It seemed his daughter knew everything about Brimo. That's the reason why he doubted his personality even more.
"Aren't you done there yet?" They turned around when Karina suddenly asked him. "Oh! There you are. You have to enter inside and eat," she invited.
"What is our viand, Mother?" Halia asked as if she meant to change the topic they were talking about.
"Sauteed ampalaya with egg," Karina replied, and Halia frowned.
Brimo chuckled at Halia, and because of Brimo's smile Marco just dismissed in his mind, the thing he was thinking about Brimo.
"Nothing else?" Halia asked as she pouted her lips.
"Nothing," Karina replied sparingly. Even Uzenio had laughed at Halia.
"Thank you, Untie!" Brimo happily thanked Karina, but his only intention was to annoy Halia.
Halia glared at Brimo when Brimo got ahead of them into their house. Halia just followed Brimo, and Marco faced Uzenio.
"Come on, let's get inside and eat. Especially since it's not safe here outside the house," Marco invited Uzenio and patted his shoulder.
"Sure, Uncle. Thank you!" Uzenio agreed, and they have entered the house together.
-
In the distance, Torth is secretly watching the house of the woman with the blood of the fairy. He liked the girl very much, but the prince of werewolves was always by her side.
He was having a hard time finding a chance to get the girl because there was a big obstacle to his plans.
He just clenched his fist and in his anger, he fell out his fangs again.
He feels the loss against Brimo because he can do nothing about it right now. He admits to himself that he really can't fight Brimo. He couldn't fight because he hadn't known the hidden power of the center of the Werewolf's lineage.
He knew Brimo still had hidden power, and that power was the most dangerous for all the vampires.
He watched people enter the house of the woman with the blood of the fairy. He was in such a situation when he felt the presence of his father behind him.
"If you're planning to interfere the woman with the fairy's blood. You'd better stop that, Torth," Rothor's speech from behind him emphasized.
His fist clenched even tighter. His veins had almost come out of his hands because of the force he was exerting due to his anger.
"I want her, Father," he said sternly.
"He's not for you," Rothor insisted.
"Especially not for Brimo—"
"You don't understand anything, Torth," Rothor hissed. Torth could not speak as if waiting for what his father would say next. "She will be the mother of the center of the four lineages."
Torth's eyes widened at what his father had said. He quickly turned to Rothor and then spoke, "Am I, the future father?" he asked excitedly, and he couldn't help but smile.
"Brimo will be the father," Rothor corrected his wrong expectation.
Torth clenched his fist. "What do you mean that Brimo will be the father? How did that happen, Father?" he asked desperately, and his jaw trembled in extreme anger and frustration.
"The center of the four lineages has a mixture of human, fairy, werewolf, and vampire blood. If you were to be the father, how would the four races be formed in the person of the baby spoken of in the prophecy?" with Rothor's insistence. "And another thing, how can you be a father if you're a vampire? No one vampire gives birth."
"You told me, I am different from all vampires, Father. You said, I could put life into a woman's womb because I would be the father of the center of four lineages," Torth said disappointed, and he almost spits in his father's face. "If Brimo is going to be the father? How can a child have the blood of a vampire? "
"You're just lacking a brain, Torth. Have you ever forgotten that you can turn people into a vampire?" Rothor reminds Torth but with mixed annoyance.
"What do you mean?" Torth asked as if he didn't know his ability.
"You don't even have a brain!" Rothor's jaws trembled as he spoke. "Wait for the woman with the blood of a fairy to get pregnant and then turn her into a vampire. Then the blood of the four races will be completely mixed in the person of the baby in her womb," Rothor explained clearly.
