Chapter 32

At Halia's house, they had just finished eating. While Karina was washing the dishes, Uzenio, Brimo, and Halia remained in the living room.
While Karina was busy washing the dishes, she heard Marco knocking on the table. She stopped washing and turned to her husband.
She saw him constantly knocking on the table and staring at the wall as if he was thinking. She was bewildered watching him.
"Do you have a problem? I guess, cuz you're quite there," she commented to him.
Marco sighed. "I don't know," he whispered confusedly. "I'm wondering about, Brimo."
Karina stared at the door to the living room wondering. "About, Brimo?" she asked and looked at Marco again. "Why? What's wrong with him?"
Marco sighed. "I don't know, but..." Marco stood up and peeked at the door. When he realized that the three friends in the living room were busy, he approached her immediately. "Brimo killed a vampire, he can move quickly," Marco complained.
"Did Brimo kill a vampire?" Karina repeated what Marco said.
"Yes! I wonder what his personality is because that's how he acts," Marco replied in a whisper.
Karina thought about it and looked straight at Marco with something she remembered. "He said then, he is not a whole human. Maybe that's what he means that their race."
"That's also what I think. But what's his race with speed acting like vampires?" Marco was still full of astonishment.
They are still staring at each other, and both are thinking about Brimo's personality.
"Mother! Father!"
They were both startled by the shock when Halia suddenly emerged from the living room. Marco quickly confronted his daughter as well as Karina.
They were both still nervous while Halia stared at them.
"Yes?" Karina asked Halia and tried not to stutter.
Halia jerking her thumb to the living room. "We will take Uzenio to their house," she asked their permission. "It is dangerous for him when he goes home alone," she added.
Marco and Karina looked at each other first and then faced Halia. "All right, no problem. Just be careful," Marco agreed.
"Uncle! Untie! Thanks for the food, I'm going home," Uzenio said, peeking behind Halia.
"Sure, Uzenio. Be careful on the road," Karina reminded.
Uzenio nodded and they left in front of them immediately.
"Untie! We're leaving first." Brimo suddenly peeked, and they were both stunned.
"Alright, Brimo. Be careful!" Marco managed to speak as he stuttered, and Brimo nodded.
-
Brimo parked in front of Uzenio's house. From their yard, Uzenio's mother can be seen doing laundry on the right side of their house.
Halia turned to Uzenio, who was opening the door of Brimo's car. Halia was just sitting in the front next to Brimo, and Uzenio was sitting in the back.
"Goodbye," Uzenio uttered and looked at the two of them.
"Bye, Uzenio!" Halia waved, and Uzenio just looked at Brimo.
Brimo just nodded to Uzenio. Uzenio immediately got out of the car and closed it as well.
He even watched Brimo's car turn around until they left.
Halia and Brimo were currently On their way. Brimo was driving quietly but slowly. Halia looked at him while smiling. She couldn't quite imagine that the creature was only the content of her grandfather's story, becoming a part of her life now.
"My father wants to see you," Brimo said suddenly and glanced at her for a moment. "Why are you smiling?"
She averted her gaze and then shook her head. "Nothing," she sparingly replied and looked at Brimo again. "Your father is a King, isn't he? I'm ashamed," she admitted.
Brimo chuckled. "Why would you be shy? Besides, he wants to talk to you about the vampires' chasing on you." He was serious about the last thing he said.
Halia looked ahead and thought. "Is your father also at the mango plantation yesterday?" she asked as she is guessed.
It was a long time before Brimo could answer. "No, but I mentioned your magical bow to him. He knows something about that." He pouted at the magical bow that was on her lap.
Halia was silent for a moment and thought. She was sure that Brimo's father knew something about her grandfathers, especially Diam. Because their Diam era was that time of chaos between humans and werewolves.
Diam was also the last who held the magical bow with the werewolves, fighting the vampires and Satrana.
Her mind was interrupted when Brimo's car suddenly stopped. They were on a long road, and it looked like there's no houses were there. That road was on its way to Brimo's town, but as they stopped. She looked at Brimo in astonishment.
"Why?" she asked.
She noticed that Brimo seemed to be using his feeling around. She just observed his reaction, and he also looked at her.
"What I feared has happened," he whispered and looked straight into her eyes. He seemed to feel something strange that she could not feel. "People entered the forest," he gritted his teeth and got out of the car.
Suddenly her chest throbbed harder because she was so worried about the people. As Brimo said, that's also the thing she's scared of. She seems to want to blame herself because she let people have an idea about creatures like Brimo and the vampires.
She also quickly got out of the car with her bow and chased Brimo who walked into the forest.
"Go ride at my back," Brimo said and quickly changed his form.
She also immediately moved and rode over Brimo. She held on tight then he ran fast.
Brimo has a sharp feeling. They had just been on the road before, but still, he knew there were people who had entered the forest.
People used to enter the forest since then, especially when hunting. But the direction that Brimo was taking was towards the secluded part of the forest.
Brimo suddenly stopped in front of the people. They're facing where the river is.
They were carrying sharp bamboo, and others had a gun. They recoiled when they saw Brimo and Halia, but they pointed their weapons at Brimo.
"Calm down! He won't hurt you!" Halia's soothing to them. "We're here to warn you. The part of the forest you're going to was dangerous!"
"He's the one we're looking for, Señorita!" a man's confession. When she stared into his face, she recognized him immediately. He is Yza's uncle.
"You've seen him already, so you can leave now! He won't let you get to the end of the forest either," she said.
"What's your pet's name, Halia?" the young man asked.
"He's not my pet, he's a friend," she clarified. She got down from Brimo's back and faced the people. "And he'll be your friend too."
"Is he can transform to a human too?" Yza's uncle asked. "We can make money using him." He looked at his companions, and they even nodded.
Halia's ears heated up because of what she heard, and she looked at Brimo. Brimo looked at her as well.
"Don't worry, we'll still take care of him. Let's make him a cage—"
"He's not just an animal. He's also a human like us," she said emphatically, then blocked herself between the people and Brimo
The people quickly prepared their weapons, and they pointed those to Brimo. Her chest throbbed because most of them were holding guns.
Because of the situation, she was forced to pull an arrow from her back and point it at the people.
"I know you're just underestimating this bow, but don't force me to use it on you," she threatened.
The people looked at each other, and some of them smirked at her. "You're alone, Señorita. You're younger and a woman. You can't handle us if you fight," another one threatened.
"You're just holding an arrow, and maybe you saw what we're holding," replied the other.
"Don't put me in a situation where I'm going to hurt you, and don't push this werewolf to hurt you," she scolded and simply glanced at Brimo.
Yza's uncle turned back to his companions. "Take her," he ordered them and Halia backed away.
Brimo blocked them immediately. When the two men approached them, Brimo immediately growled. They were alarmed and retreated in fear of Brimo.
They aggressively pointed their weapons at Brimo, and Halia intervened too.
"It looks like that werewolf is protecting you, Senorita," Yza's uncle commented smiling.
"As I said, don't try him. If vampires couldn't bear to fight him, what about your abilities?" Halia threatened. "You don't know what he can do," she added and stared at them one by one.
Her sweat dripped down her forehead. She felt the complexity of their situation. She can't hurt people, but she needs to protect Brimo. And she knew that Brimo also felt the complexity of the same thing.
"Get her!" Yza's uncle even ordered her companions.
"Her pet is guarding," another man reasoned, and his weapon was still pointed at Brimo.
"Then shoot it," Yza's uncle suggested, and Halia's chest throbbed harder.
"Just try, I'll forget that you're human," she said threateningly, and she pointed her bow at him.
Yza's uncle was smirked, and suddenly shot Brimo's leg. Brimo drowned on the grass, and Halia screamed.
She quickly hugged Brimo, and in her embrace, he released another bullet to him. Another leg of Brimo was hit and to the shock of the people, he changed his form.
Halia screamed too much as she heard Brimo groaning. Other people immediately backed away when they saw Brimo's human form.
"I told you, he's a human!" another said loudly and came closer to look at Brimo.
Brimo was bent over lying down. His wounds in the arm and leg continued to bleed.
"Brimo!" Halia doesn't know what to do as to where the body of Brimo she'll touch. Both of his wounds had bullets were buried, and she knew it would not heal until the bullet got inside his wounds.
"Brimo Milandres?" one of the men exclaimed and was shocked at what they saw.
"He's the son of Don Noreo! The Mayor of the other town!" also startled one said and even shouted.
"Take him!" Yza's uncle ordered but no one acted.
"That's Brimo! His father is a good person!" The man he commanded was justified.
He hit him on the head. "Are you stupid? That's a werewolf!" he yelled at him and he confronted others. "Where's the net? Wrap him in the net!" he ordered.
When Halia heard their conversation, she again took her bow and pointed at them.
"Don't!" Brimo gasped and stopped her quickly as he complained of pain. "D-Don't hurt anyone. T-That's not your j-job," Brimo reminded her, and his eyes were still closed because of the pain.
His ear was already red from endurance, and his forehead was sweating. And Halia just kept her bow pointed at the people and continued to cry.
"I don't want them to get you!" she shouted and stretched out the string of her arrow.
"Hurry!" Yza's uncle yelled to his companions.
They unfolded the net wrapped in the sack and approached Brimo. Halia's crying got louder, pushing the people approaching them.
Yza's uncle pulled her, and she shrieked. Brimo, on the other hand, did not fight anymore because, for him, they were just people.
They were in such a situation when suddenly something fell from the surface. They were both startled and retreated at the same time.
Halia's eyes widened when she saw the man wearing a black cloak hoodie. She was even more worried because Brimo was weakening and looking up at the man with a scary posture.
He was just standing and Turning back from them. When he faced them, he was just a normal person to look at, but she knew what he was.
He is a vampire.
"Mr. Hidrith?" the shocked said one of the people.
