"H-Hiding anything?" Karina's tongue stiffened as she asked. She thinks that maybe Noreo doesn't know about Halia's personality yet and it's hard to tell. The Catastran couple looked at each other. Their faces show the worry that Noreo might back out of their marriage agreement if they tell the truth about their daughter. "To make everything more clear and ready for whatever happens. It's better that we don't have any secrets from each other," Noreo clarified what he meant. Halia's chest pounded even more. Brimo looked at his father and his eyes asked if he was ready to confess in front of Halia's parents or not. Karina and Marco seemed to be doused with cold water. The paleness of their faces noticeable and they were worried about the revelation of their daughter's secret. "F-Father..." Brimo said to his father and the simple mention of Noreo's name brought the question of whether they would tell Halia's parents their true race or not. "I-I don't know if we should say this but—" "W-We have no secrets!" Karina retorted to interrupt her husband's speech and still stammered. Noreo looked at Karina with an emotionless face. "We do not have—" "I know what your daughter's secret is, Karina," Noreo told them directly. Karina stared and turned even paler. Halia was not surprised by what Noreo said. Marco gulped but Noreo continued speaking, "I know what race you come from." Marco quickly averted his gaze. It doesn't seem to know how to continue eating. "B-Brimo told you about our daughter's identity. I-I'm sorry, if we—" "Marco..." Marco stopped speaking when Noreo called him. Marco looked straight at him. "We accept what kind of woman your daughter is." Karina's mouth parted as if she didn't expect what Noreo said. This is rare among people who quickly accept the personality of others. "E-Even if we're not pure blood of human?" asked Karina. Noreo nodded and the Catastran couple's lips curved into smiles. "T-Thank you... b-but why?" Marco asked confused. "In the eyes of many people, our daughter is abnormal. That's why we hide about her secret because we know that other people will judge her." "I accept your daughter, don't worry. I'm not like others who are quick to judge. In fact, when I know about your daughter's personality and what her role is in this world I decided to protect you. " "Protect?" Karina frowned. "W-Wait Noreo..." She laughed weakly and fakely, seemingly insulted. "Our daughter is not dangerous. She will not hurt us if you mean we are dangerous to her because of the ability she possesses." "That's not what I mean, Karina." Karina calmed down for a moment and waited for Noreo's reason. "Your daughter is dangerous to vampires." The Catastran couple already knew about vampires and Halia's dangers but they still couldn't help but be surprised. They feel that thing is even more horrible to hear especially since it is their child daughter will be put in danger. "I know you already know about this. Since we—we are the only ones here and no one else is with you. You need to know the truth—" "Father..." Brimo interrupted his father and Noreo looked at him. "Maybe it's better if we eat first then we talk about this matter later." Actually, they were just starting to eat. But puzzles are popping up all around. Noreo sighed and slowly nodded when he realized that his son was right. He tried to smile. "That's right. It's better to talk when we're full. Let's eat first and continue our conversation later. I'm sorry if I forgot that you came from the other town." The two couples grimaced and then tried to smile at Noreo. The situation is awkward especially since they can't get Halia's situation out of their minds. After eating, Noreo did not miss his goal. He invited the couple—Karina and Marco—to show off their livelihood. "Just like you..." Noreo spoke first. "Our land is also our source of livelihood. It is not hidden from my knowledge that you are the owner of the mango plantation in the other town. We have a large plantation of oranges and grapes here. This supports the lifestyle of the people in this place." Marco nodded his head as he looked at the vast expanse at the end. "It's bigger than ours." "It means that we are equally helpful," Noreo clarified because he had no intention of bragging off what he had even if he sounded like that. The couple smiled at what he said and Noreo spoke again, "This is one of our roles in the world." Marco spoke, "You're right. Those of us who are able to help should help—" "In common human understanding, yes. But not everyone like us can do that." Marco nodded again at Noreo's clarification. "Because it feels good that you are helping. Because the blessing that comes to you is doubled every time you give help to others." Noreo sighed. Marco always agrees with what he says even though he actually means something different. "Your vast land belongs to Damato—your father Karina." Karina was surprised by what Noreo said. "How did you—" "Before Damato, it came from the care of his father, Diam." The Catastran couple foreheads furrowed. "That was a boon granted to Damiaw—Diam's father," Noreo continued. "Damiaw who has lived for several hundred years." "H-How did you know about that story?" Karina asked nervously. Noreo confronted them. "The land you own was given to your family by the fairies to give a good life to the creatures like Marco—the people." They were just stunned when they noticed Noreo's speech that didn't seem to regard himself as a human being. "You did not fail in that mission," Noreo added. "M-Mission?" Marco stuttered. His forehead began to sweat because he could see that Noreo had something else to convey to them. Noreo sighed again. Doubt and worry cannot be seen on his face. It seems that he is ready for the result of his plan. "People like us were created to help and protect people," he began. The Catastran couple remained gaping in front of him. But he continued to speak, "You are fairies with magic." "M-Magic?" Karina stuttered. "The magical bow is in your care and your daughter is holding it. You are karina, your tears have the ability to heal the sick. Your blood and presence and have made plants grow. You will live even if it takes a few hundred years. You will only experience growing old unlike the fairies because you have human blood running through your veins." "Just like my daughter said," Karina confirmed. While Marco was already dripping with sweat on his forehead. "The magical bow came from Damiaw, passed to his son Diam. Before your son, it passed through the hands of Damato. During Damato's time, the rival vampires were silent until it was passed to your daughter. Now your daughter is the tasked with being the owner of a magical bow and actually saving people." "My daughter won't do that!" Marco immediately objected. "She's a woman and she's weak. Even if it's in her blood to be a fairy, she won't be the savior of the world." "She can't escape the destiny for her Marco!" "W-Wait a minute! Why do you know about our origins? I'm sure you weren't born in their time," Karina asked, full of curiosity. Noreo did not immediately answer. He looked away and faced his land. A moment of silence and the Catastran couple remained waiting. The strong wind blew and it waved Karina's hair but Noreo still didn't answer. After a while he spoke, "We are not human." The couple's eyes widened. Karina held tight to Marco's arm as if she suddenly felt afraid of Noreo. They were in that situation when Halia and Brimo appeared behind them. "Father, I would like Halia to wander in our land. It's like—" "W-What are you not human?" Karina asked and ignored Brimo's speech. The two lovers frowned automatically as they looked back and forth at their parents. "What do you mean Noreo? A-Are you vampires too?" Marco immediately retreated after he asked. He even pulled Karina who was holding her arm. "Like I said. Vampires are enemies," Noreo spoke again. Halia's parents kept listening. Halia, on the other hand, tightened her grip on Brimo's arm. Noreo continued to speak, "We are not like them but we are not human either." "Father!" Brimo scolded but what else is that for? "As our respect for the family of the woman you are marrying Brimo. They need to know the truth," Noreo reasoned with his son. "Truth? W-What's truth? What are you really?" Marco asked. "We are Werewolves."
