The ray of light shone brightly through the open window, I groaned a little and turned to see the window wide open with the cozy breeze flowing inside. With a deep slumber, I touched the bed, but it was empty. My eyes snapped open, and I raised my head to see Mia standing by the window. She felt my presence and turned to face me. “Hey! Why are you up so early?” I questioned and stared keenly at her. “Nothing actually, I woke up and felt like stretching my legs.” Mia whispered and I sigh. She smiled and moved closer to me, and I stared at her curiously. “What's on your mind? You're having that mischievous smirk of yours.” I added. “Come on, can't I smile after all I have been through?” She stated and the whispered the last part faintly. I squeezed her hand slightly and spoke. “Go ahead, ma'am, am all ears.” She chuckled and sat close to me. “The person you came with the other day, who is he?” She questioned as her eyes bored into mine. I tried to crack my brain. Who was she talking about? Then I remembered, it must be Francis. He was the only guy I brought into the hospital. “Is there a problem? Why do you ask?” I inquired and lowered my gaze. “I was just thinking if he was your boyfriend. He is cute, you know.” She whispered in my ears and I shook my head. “You will never change, Mia, I just realized how much I missed you.” I said sincerely and hugged her. Just then, her mom walked in, and I almost forgot about Mrs Cora. “Where have you been, mom? I woke up, and you were nowhere to be found.” She questioned and placed her hand on her waist. I was grateful that Mia was feeling so much better and back to her normal self. She smiled and moved closer. “I went to see the doctor, and we cleared everything. We can go home now.” She said with a grin, and I smiled widely. We packed the few things which were Mia's before walking out of the ward. Then I met Bianca standing by the receptionist post, she was discussing with the receptionist, and it seems important. I didn't intend to disturb, so I tried to walk past her, but she called my name. “Norah, leaving without goodbye, huh?” She questioned with a pout, then she whispered some words to the receptionist before moving closer to me. “I wanted to avoid bothering you, thank you for everything Bianca, if not for you, we couldn't have found-” I was still talking when she chipped in. “You have thanked me enough Norah, this could happen to anyone. And don't forget what I told you.” She said and tilted her head in Mia's direction. I didn't get what she meant by that and just stared at her curiously. A little smile displayed on my face but was replaced with confusion. She moved an inch and whispered 'Austin, find him,' she stated, and I understood. I turned to face Mia, and it seems like her mind was off somewhere, she wasn't paying attention to us. She tapped her legs on the floor and whined a little, I noticed how tired she looked and said a quick goodbye to Bianca. “Take care Mia. Stay safe, Mrs Cora,” she yelled behind me as I marched towards them. We left the hospital immediately and luckily for us, a cab stopped right in front of us. “Miami street, house 24.” I voiced out, and the driver rolled down his glass to stare at me. “Hop in then, I hope you have some cash with you.” He stated in a rapt tone. I almost rolled my eyes but resist the urge. The drive home was quiet and comfortable, we didn't say much to each other not until the driver drove in front of my house and stopped. “You live here? Wow!” Mia muttered. She hopped out of the car and roamed her eyes around the premises. “I'm going to love this place, definitely. This looks cool, I want to see the inside.” She whispered and giggled like a baby. I laughed at her behavior before nodding my head. I quickly paid the driver, and we march towards the house. Mia's mom didn't utter a word, but by the look on her face, she was surprised I live in a place this fancy. I dived my hands into my bag and rummage through it, then I felt the key below my phone and I pulled it out. I inserted it into the door and made it wide open. Mia was the first to step in, jaw dropped, and her eyes widen when she sighted the inside. “Oh my! I love this place.” She whispered and grinned. “Show me the bedroom, please,” she begged, and I rolled my eyes. “You need to stop behaving like a baby, you will be here for as long as you want.” I mumbled and ignored her plead. The house was indeed beautiful, the marble floor and white painting made it so classic. I roamed my eyes one more time before dropping my bag on the couch. “I'm going to make breakfast right away.” I stated, and Mrs Cora nodded while Mia decided to give herself a tour. I walked into the kitchen after tieing my apron. Just then, the sound of my phone ringing jerked me back to reality. Who was calling so early, huh? I kept murmuring as I walk towards the couch to get my phone. Then, I sighted an unknown number displaying on my screen. Who could it be? Could it be Austin? I shrugged the thought off and reluctantly picked the call. “Hello!” I said in a low voice unable to hear myself clearly but then, there was no response. I removed the phone from my ear and stared at the screen again, the person was still on the phone. “Hello! I'm all ears. Who am I speaking to?” I asked curiously as I felt fear washing through me. Could it be someone sent to monitor I and Mia? We just came back from the hospital, and I am already receiving a strange call. I sighed and decided to speak for the last time. “I'm busy, so bye-” I was just about to end the call when I heard the person called out my name. The voice was damn familiar and even in my dreams, I could detect whose voice it was. “Norah!” He called again in a masculine voice, always accompanied by authority in it. I stepped back a bit and popped my eyes open. Liam! It was Liam. But why was he calling me by himself? Did I do something wrong again? I felt my head banging with a bunch of questions.
