Chapter Thirty six

      Elijah
Life could be likened to the feeling of cold hard metal pressed to a forehead, ready to blow the brains out.
He had known the Skylars were dangerous people. He had known they were a gang of hardened kids who broke every rule there ever was. Yet he had mixed with them. He had craved power. Power over those who had made his life unbearable. The power that would give him the courage to face his father. To show him and everyone else that he wasn't a wimp. To what freakking end? He glanced down at himself in distaste and sighed miserably.
To him on his knees, his hands tied behind his back and a gun pressed to his head as everyone in the warehouse stared at the entrance. He hoped Vicky would come. It was her fault he was stuck anyways. He prayed she wouldn't. A single gunshot was all it took and either of them would kiss the world goodbye.
He risked a look at his would-be killer. Emma. The head of the Skylars. He had only seen him once and that was when he had been assigned to transport drugs to Emma's Stash. Emmanuel was tall and every bit muscular. His eyes were black and hard. Fearsome. After graduating from Citadel High three years before, one would've thought he would move ahead to seek a better future for himself.
                         Not.
Eli's eyes moved on to the firearm next to his head. The first time he'd seen a gun close up. He was certain Emma had killed plenty and his own death would add to the pile.
                         His or Vicky's.
The warehouse was slightly dusty and slightly empty as well; if one overlooked the nine Skylar members present and Demi; who stood not so far away from him.
"What's taking her so long?! Does she think I'm bluffing huh? Does she?"
In his personal opinion, he was sure Demi had crossed the line of insanity. She was far too gone. Her hair looked like the first world war had occurred there and her face looked too oily to be washed. Her eyes were wide; too wide, and she kept mumbling a whole load of nonsense.
                       Crazy.
"Babe. Calm down." Emma said consolingly. "You need to chill. You're starting to get on my boys' nerves."
"I know. I know." She sighed. "I just... I can't lose Emma. You know that right? If all my plan fails, then Vicky has to leave. She has to go. She cannot keep living my life. Once she's out of the way, Stephanie will come back to me."
Emma nodded, left Eli's side and walked towards her holding her face. "It will work. You're smart Demi. Your plan always works." He pressed a kiss to her forehead.
Of course, she's dating the idiot. Evil meets evil.
When Eli was convinced he would pass out from either the cramps in his shoulders or hunger, A figure sauntered into the warehouse.
                          "Eli! Vicky!"
                           "Enoch?"
His best friend stood at the entrance with wide eyes and an open jaw.
"Eli! You're okay!" Enoch yelled happily, oblivious to the spectators.
"Not for long." Demi sneered and the gun was back to his head. "Where is Vicky?"
"What do you mean where is Vicky? What have you done to Vicky?!" Enoch bellowed as they stormed towards each other.
He glanced up to see the leader of the Skies conflicted over stopping his girlfriend or staying with the hostage.
"Do not play games with me Noche." Demi hissed when they stood toe to toe.
Anyone could've missed the smirk on Enoch's face but not Eli. In a flurry of movements, Enoch had Demi underneath his grip and a gun to her head.
"One move and it's bye-bye, Demi Martins." Enoch grinned maniacally.
Eli would've touched his cheek to check if his jaw hadn't fallen to the ground and if his hands weren't tied.
"Now Vicky!" Enoch yelled and a very proud Vicky pranced into the building heading straight for him. Her hands held a small knife.
"Good to see you." She said quietly as she cut the rope.
"I love you. I do. You're my hero."
She laughed at his antics and helped him stand. "You're delusional."
"What the hell are you people doing?!" Demi screamed at the shuffling Skylars. The boys stared at one another in uncertainty.
                           "Babe-"
                           "Emma kill her!"
Enoch shook his head. "Before your finger presses the trigger, her brain's going booyah."
Elijah snorted as he tittered towards his friend. "Does the rhyming come with the gun? Because I want one."
                       Demi growled. "Shoot Emma!"
"We should tie her mouth," Vicky murmured. "Come on, let's get out"
"No! Nobody leaves! I will not lose!"
And in a flash, all ten boys surrounded them in a circle.
                         "Nobody leaves." Emma echoed.
