"Lance! Man!" Bricx calls from afar. Lance looked at him and waved his hands before facing his friends. "My friend is already here, I will go now. See you tomorrow." He bid goodbye to his basketball teammates. He ran to Bricx, who was walking to the cafeteria. "What's up?" Lance asked Bricx. "How are you?" His friend asked about his well-being. "I heard your mom smacked you to death." Bricx laughed at Lance. Lance furrowed his eyebrows. "Lizzy told you already about it?" He complained, annoyed. "Now I know why you like my sister too much. You can adopt her as your sister. I would say nothing and complain." He added. Since Lizzy was born, Bricx always went to their house to care for her sister. He would spend his time playing with Lizzy. And because of that, Lizzy prefers Bricx than her brother. They do not like each other romantically but as siblings. All the people thought that Lizzy's brother was Bricx and not Lance. Bricx patted his shoulder. "Take care of her, bastard. We wanted to adopt your little sister as if Auntie and Uncle would agree. I am fine sharing her with you." Bricx replied. They ordered something to eat and took their places near the cafeteria exit. "News about your ex?" Bricx immediately asked Lance. "Shut it, bastard. I am over there already. I guess Lizzy already told you the story without my knowing," Lance replied, and Bricx smiled, which meant he already knew about it. "That brat. She is dead later." He continued, plotting his vengeance on his nosy younger sister. Lance said, rolling his eyes because there was no hidden secret between the two. "Ah, right. How about the girl in the haunted house?" Bricx asked, which made Lance stop eating. A week has passed since he went there to visit the girl. He also never planned to go back again because he was also scared for himself and thought that he might put his life in danger after what he learned that day. Lance shook his head and drank his bottled water. "She is dangerous. She explains that she hurts other people. She even demonstrated what she was doing. She motioned how she was choking, stabbing, and hitting someone. I did not go back there after that incident last week. Never again." he said, with a trace of fear. "Are you sure?" Bricx asked Lance in shock. "I told you going there was dangerous. Good thing you learned about it early." He added. "Yes, maybe her parents are imprisoning her because of that." He replied. "There is a reason why they would do that." Still, his friend was wondering. "But if that's the case, should she not be imprisoned or put in mental care? Why else would they imprison the person in their house if they knew it could hurt them?" Bricx's questions that Lance could not answer at all. "Why are you asking me? Do I know all the answers there?" Lance replied, wanting to hurt his friend in front of him. Bricx tapped the table to get his friend's attention. "Do you have a picture of her? I want to see her." he told him. Lance shook his head. "None. I could take a picture of the inside of the house, but I did not take a picture of her." he replied. "Then try to describe her. I will try to imagine her." Bricx insisted, so he did nothing but try to remember the woman's face. Lance sighed. "Fair skin, gentle face, and long hair that is quite curly," He describes the woman. "She's kinda pretty, so I wondered why she was like that at first." He explained. He looked at his friend angrily, unable to imagine what Lance said because he did not say in detail what the woman looked like. "Something is wrong. I can tell you it but can't figure it out." Bricx said before continuing to eat. After they ate, they returned to class. Because they take different courses, they always meet in the cafeteria or when there is a vacancy. They are also tired of looking at each other's faces every day, whether they are busy or not because they are always playing in the computer shop. After returning home, he went to the woman's house again. He is now staring at the house. "I just want to see what her condition is. I won't stay here longer like before." Lance said to himself because he also did not know why he went to the village where the haunted house supposedly was. He just told himself he would never go here again, but he was already in front of the house. He never planned to go back again. He got out of the car and went to his home. He ensured no one was there because he did not want to endanger his life. "Why did I even come here?" He questions himself as he goes to the side of the house. "I am worried, but why do I have to put my single life on the brink of death?" he asked himself again, and even he could not answer. He climbed out the window and entered the house. He slowly walked closer to the woman's room, ensuring he would not make any noise when he opened the door. He was afraid he might see the woman behind the door and do something to him. Many different scenes were happening in his head, but he shook them off. The dark room opened up to him. He tried to find the light switch and flicked it open to see more of his surroundings. He was scared and nervous at the same time. The scary scenes flashing through his mind are not helping either. To his relief, he did not hear any noises. He was still not facing where the woman was. He only looked at the light switch and felt his surroundings, but it was quiet. "Just one look and five minutes. After that, go home." He reminded himself. After he talks to himself, he breathes deeply before deciding to face the woman. "This is not what I was expecting, though." he whispered.
