Chapter 26 Tell Me Everything You Know!
"Sit!" Alpha Gavin commanded. Drucilla reluctantly sat on a nearby seat and was just about to catch a breath when the alpha demanded once more, "Tell me everything you know… leaving nothing out" Drucilla couldn't believe what she was hearing. Minnie had repeatedly assured her that she was in no kind of trouble, but the alpha is now demanding an explanation. What would she even say to him without getting into trouble?
She looked toward Alpha Gavin in a state of panic, with clear confusion plastered across her face. Seeing the disguised emotion in her eyes, Wesley quickly spoke to save the poor girl. "Cilla… you need to tell us about the guy in the dungeon… How do you know him?"
Alpha Gavin and Beta Orsin both turned to look at Wesley as if he had just developed another head. The guy just called Drucilla by a pet name as if they were really close, or even extremely close. Wesley realized what he said and couldn't help wondering why he just spoke that way. It came so naturally and was totally out of his control.
He tried everything possible to avoid eye contact with Alpha Gavin and Beta Orsin. He could tell that the two were giving him some mocking looks right now, especially Orsin. However, when he saw the fear on Drucilla's face, he was relieved to see that the girl didn't have any reaction to the name he just called her. Wesley was also sure that she didn't even notice.
"I…don't understand… I haven't seen him anywhere before today… I only saw him in the dungeon… when the alpha took me there" Drucilla became more confused by what was going on, but Alpha Gavin finally confirmed his earlier conjecture. As a result, he spoke up quickly before Wesley could scare the girl any further.
"Tell me about decay… the poison!" Everyone was surprised to hear the name of the poison from the alpha, but Drucilla rather had a moment of enlightenment. "So it's called decay huh!" she could be heard saying under her breath. She then took a deep breath and began her story.
"My father… he… once used it on a wolf from the… the… Dark-Dawn Pack…" Drucilla could feel the temperature in the room dropping, but she braced herself and quickly continued anyway. "The red-haired lady said that… it would make him talk…and that… it was some kind of truth serum… but…she lied"
Drucilla took a moment of a breather, and closed her eyes for a moment before saying, "I saw with my own eyes… I'll say… everything was just like the man in the dungeon"
"Which red-haired lady… which member of the Dark-Dawn Pack?" Gavin was on the verge of jumping from his seat for a much quicker answer. However, his years of training compelled him to remain sitting. "I… don't know her name… I don't know the other guy either… But I remember hearing her warn my father about the fate that would befall him… if he ever betrayed her… She said no creature has ever survived decay… and he may just end up like everyone else" Looking at the expression of everyone around, Drucilla couldn't tell whether they believed her story or not.
"When did this happen?" Came the alpha next question, to which Drucilla responded by saying, "I was ten… so nine years ago." This earned a shocked expression from everyone except Alpha Gavin. They were all thinking that, if decay was used on someone as far back as nine years ago, then the threat still lingers, and no one was safe from this long-time conspiracy. They couldn't even tell who the enemy was.
Also, the mention of a member of the Dark-Dawn Pack being killed nine years ago brought some sad memories to mind, and Gavin just couldn't shake it off.
Drusilla finally made them understand that it was a red-haired woman, but when they asked for further descriptions, she only maintained that the woman had fiery red hair, and was always in sunglasses or a scarf, or both. She was only able to see her that fateful night because she was punished to stand outside her father's study, awaiting further punishment.
Maybe they thought she was gone, or her father had forgotten about her presence altogether, or the red-haired lady didn't even pay attention to her because she was so young and insignificant. However, because of this, she was able to catch a glimpse of her when her father walked her out of the study.
She could see the reverence in her father's eyes as he walked beside the lady. When curiosity took the better of her after sporting the departing backs of her father and the red-haired lady, young Drucilla sneaked into her father's study. What she met changed her life for good. She was shocked to see a man bleeding from his nose, ears, eyes, mouth, and every other opening available.
Every other part seemed to be rotting, and fast. What shocked her was that she was outside when her father called for the prisoner. After he refused to speak, the red-haired lady forced something into his mouth and told everyone else to move away from him. Drucilla placed her ear against the door, thinking she'll hear the man's struggle once more. However, she heard no sound from him until she found him in a pool of blood and some other liquid she couldn't identify.
She only remembers waking up on her bed after twelve hours and being told of how she collapsed in the woods while taking a stroll. She was hence grounded from leaving the pack house from that day. This earned her another chance to sneak into the holding cells in search of the prisoner she remembered seeing on the floor. She found him in a state just like the person in the dungeon. Everyone was told to stay away and not touch him for any reason whatsoever, as it would spell their doom.
The sight of the man in the dungeon refreshed her memory from that night, hence the tremor and shock she felt.
Drucilla didn't understand why Alpha Gavin didn't punish her for her father's actions, but she was grateful to still be alive after telling her story.
However, one other thing that confided her was how he was so particular about the identity of the pack member who was poisoned by the red-haired lady. She couldn't remember much, but she told them everything she could recall from that day. Drusilla only hopes that, after helping the Alpha with a portrait of the red-haired lady, he'll finally end this series of interrogations.

"Hey, Minnie… good to see you" Various students greeted Kurah as she stepped in with Lolita. She quickly responds to the greetings and walks to a lone table of two, in a corner far away from everyone else. Immediately they sat down, Lolita ordered fruit juice, only to hear Kurah requesting alcohol.
She didn't say anything to her but only told the waiter about Kurah's age, which earned her a terrible eye roll from her. Unsurprisingly, the waiter returned with a small jug of freshly squeezed apple and pineapple juice. He meant to say, the ladies could help themselves.
Kurah was too pissed to touch the glass, but when she saw a squint on Lolita's face, she poured herself a glass and feigned anger as she lifted it to her lips. She also raised an eyebrow and looked at Lolita who was already showing signs of discomfort. When she enquired about what the problem was, Lolita shook her head and said she was okay.
Meanwhile, after thirty minutes into the program, she could tell that Lolita was not okay. Kurah quickly walked with Lolita as she supported her so effortlessly that no one could tell she was almost carrying her friend. However, upon reaching the entrance, Professor Mason was seen entering the premises, accompanied by a woman with fiery red hair.
She didn't hide her hair, but still donned sunglasses at night. "How weird!" Kurah thought. At a glance, Kurah could tell that the woman didn't dye her hair, ad that it was her natural hair color. Who has such red hair anyway?
As if things weren't messed up already, Professor Mason started engaging Lolita in a conversation, to which she responded with curt answers. Suddenly Kurah picked the scent of other wolves nearby. She could also tell that they were not from her pack.
It then dawned on her that it was a full moon today. Back in Wolftown, full moons didn't have any effect on Kurah and her family. However, other wolves had to go through involuntary shapeshifting accompanied either inconvenience for a while, before returning to normal. She didn't know if things would be the same out here.
Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the woman whose mere presence pissed her off for no reason. However, Kurah was trained from birth, and she disguised her true feelings from everyone, including the lady before her.
"What's wrong with Lolly?" At the same time, she took two steps towards them, and at the same time, she was giving a signal to some of the wolves to help Lolita.
Kurah immediately burst out, "She's fine… and… only I get to call her that… thanks for nothing!"
