Chapter Ten

"Ken, please just for me," I begged him. He didn't want to negotiate with Mar as if he would die if he did. "You're both my friends and I don't want to always intervene with you every time you fight," I added.
Ken looked away from me and turned his attention to the whole plaza. He smirked and frowned.
He was silent for a moment. "It's up to him, Jan," he replied. “If it's just me, I'll try to get along with him if that's what you want. Also, I don't want you to suffer through the two of us,” he finally said.
From what I heard from Ken, I smiled because I assumed that they would both be okay. I don't even want every time they meet they seem to be tigers ready to devour each other.
"Thank you, Ken," I said kindly. “I know how big your heart is to understand and try to get along with Mar. I know how good a person you are.” I smiled at him but I don't know why there seemed to be pain and sadness in his eyes.
"You don't know, Jan, maybe I'm not the person you think I am," he said meaningfully, frowning at me.
“Of course, you are, Ken. You're the kindest and most softhearted Man I've ever met, Ken and I know it's you. I can't be wrong that you are a good person," I returned.
He looked blank to face me. "I don't deserve your compliments, Jan but I don't want you to disappoint."
I'm confused. I don’t know why Ken says that. I'm not used to him like this. “Ken, believe in yourself. Here I believe in you," I reassured him. "Tell me, do you have a problem?" I asked worriedly.
He bowed for a moment then smiled knowing that he was just trying. “Don’t worry, Jan I’m okay. It's the effect of watching dramas," he said. "What, let's eat?"
I was just stunned as Ken walked away. I know something is strange. He's not the type of person to dramatize for nothing.
“Jan, will you just stand still? Treat me,” he shouted sharply as I still stood there.
Though curious, I followed him. Then maybe I'll ask him what his problem is, maybe he's not ready to tell me yet.

"Are you still here?"
I felt Mar's warm body hug me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and then placed his chin on my shoulder.
"You're the one I've been waiting for, Mar and no matter how long, I'll still wait because I know you're coming," I replied affectionately.
He even tightened his grip on me from behind me. "When did you learn such lines like that, Jan?"
"Since I've loved you," I replied immediately. "You taught me a lot, Mar, and I will never forget what you taught me how to love you," I added happily.
"You're a fast learner, Jan." He laughed slightly at what he said. Later he was blown away by the wind. “But you know, Jan? You taught me more and all that I will never forget. You taught me how to be happy and how to accept who I am," Mar replied seriously.
I caressed his arm that was around my waist. "Maybe we are destined to teach each other to be happy with each other." I stopped for a moment and smiled sweetly. "Thank you for coming into my life, to give me this kind of joy that I thought it was impossible to feel," I said with all my heart.
I turned my gaze to the clear sky which I could see from here on the rooftop of the school building. I felt Mar's lips touch my shoulder followed by the sound of her kissing there. "I'm sorry, Jan because of what I caused you before. I hurt you so much."
“And thank you for hurting me. You made me strong and realized how important you are to me. I can't afford to lose you, Mar, and even if we're not the ones for the end. I still want to keep the friendship we have." There was a chisel that appeared in my voice since we were still here at the point where not everything was sure. Suppose we are just in the testing part of a machine before it is marketed.
I felt Mar's hug relax on me. "Even if I hurt you badly, you still want to be my friend?" he asked seriously. He is next to me now and just looking around.
I was immediately silent. What if that happens? What if Mar eventually hurts me, will I still be able to fix everything with us? "For you to heal the pain you need closure and accept that fact the relationship just ended there."
I felt him hold my hand. "I can't promise I won't hurt you, Jan but I can promise to make you happy." He blinked for a moment and bowed. “We don't know the extent of our relationship so Jan promised me that you will trust me no matter what happens and I will do the same to you. As far as it goes, the important thing is that we are happy.” There was a trace of fear on his face that the relationship we had might also end.
I nodded then smiled at him. I moved my hands and applied them to Mar's cheek while looking into his eyes. “I promise I will trust you, Mar, no matter what happens. We're not sure but I want to talk to Cupid so that we can just go. I hope that no matter what happens, we will still be together in the end.” I caressed his cheek as I could see the apprehension in my eyes.
Mar nodded and stroked my cheek with his hands. He moved fast, I just found myself giving him an equal kiss. After that kiss, I hugged her tightly.
"I'm sure of you, Mar."
