Chapter Twelve

I was still hoping that maybe one day Mar and Ken will finally make up with each other because I'm the one struggling with how to divide my side every time they get heated. They are now adults, but they look like a child when they act on each other.
I smiled when I saw Ken from the school conference room, he was still a little surprised to see me.
"J-Jan, you came in early," he greeted me, seeming concerned.
I frowned. "Huh? Eh, I've always been early to school," I said in surprise.
“I mean, look there's no one here except you and me. You are too early,” he explained.
I turned around and I saw that he and I were the only ones there. Am I too early? I don't know.
"Why are you here so early?" I asked him back.
"I'm just tripping around." He smiled at the same time.
"Ok." I nodded at him.
"Aren't you with Mar?" Ken asked as we walked down the hallway to our classroom.
“Oh, you can't expect that guy to come in early," I said annoyed.
"Oh! So that means that I have time to be with you, Jan?" he joked.
I faced him with raised eyebrows. "Why do you want it from me, huh??"
"N-nothing," he simply said, then he avoided me.
I just ignored him. He entered the classroom first and when I turned to enter, Jame caught my eyes. She just left the conference room. I was surprised because that's where Ken came from when I saw him earlier.
"Ken, you came from the conference room earlier, right?" I asked him when I entered the classroom. It turned out that he and I were just there.
Suddenly, his eyes looked at me and he didn't immediately answer.
"I saw Jame from there too, did you guys see each other?"
"A-ah, yes we did." He smiled hesitantly. "When I entered, she was there with her friends," he explained.
I just nodded and didn't ask any more questions. I snorted before sitting in my seat.
I was just sitting down when Ken approached me, pulling his bench to sit next to me.
"Jan, can we date–I mean are you free to go out this weekend," he said while smiling at me as if he was tempting me to agree to what he wanted.
"Let's go out?" I even point at him and me. He nodded in response. "Why did you suddenly ask?"
"Are you not allowed to be invited? I'll treat you and besides I want to spend more time with you, Jan," he said.
I don't know, but why do those things he said seem to have a different meaning?
"We did spend time here in school, Ken," I said. "But I will think about your offer."
"No need to think, Jan just say yes."
I heard a man enter the classroom. I was so surprised when I saw Mar. Ken and I both turned to him.
"Have you been here for a long time?" I asked.
He came to me and put his arm around me. "Yes, Ken is asking you out on a date, isn't he, Ken?" He even turned to Ken with meaningful eyes.
"He was just asking me to go out this weekend, it is not a date, Mar," I immediately defended. Mar and I will fight again if he doesn't understand what Ken said.
"Yeah, it's not a date. I just want to take him out to enjoy it." I don't know, but Ken's voice seems indifferent.
"Me, aren't you going to ask me if I'm going with you? Or you don't want me to disturb you two," Mar returned with obvious jealousy there.
I just closed my eyes tightly because of what Mar said. I simply elbowed him. He's annoying because his brain is so narrow.
"If you want to, then go," Ken agreed but didn't seem serious.
"Just the two of you can go out, after all, it looks like you need to enjoy yourself more," I told them. "Go to your seats," I shooed them away. Our classmates are also coming.
I thought that I could make up these two but it seems that it is still unclear because it seems that they are competing and someone has to win.

AFTER the class, we went directly to the square for the practice that will be held for Valentine's ball. I don't like dance so I only joined the cotillion and didn't join the other's presentations they were preparing.
Even if I wanted Mar to be my partner, it's not possible because our school doesn't accept it yet. The thing that annoys me is that Jame is Mar's partner. I was annoyed because she almost wrapped around him like a snake.
"You look stressed."
I faced Mar without emotion. "It's you who is stressing me, Mar," I teased back.
He frowned. "Huh? Me? What did I do, Jan?”
“It's you and your partner. It's annoying!” I still dab before leaving him and going to see Dy, my partner.
Mar followed me and stopped me. "Are you jealous?" he said happily.
"Your ass! Why should I be jealous?" I said firmly.
"Because your boyfriend is dancing with someone? Gosh!” He messed up my hair. "You're like a child, Jan. She's just my partner for dance but you're my life partner," he said seriously.
Mar knows how to make me smile. The fact that even though I was annoyed because of what he just said it suddenly disappeared. I bent down to hide my smiling face because of the happiness brought by the words he said.
"I was just annoyed because that girl seems like a snake while wrapping around you. You almost don't want to let her go," I confessed.
"There's nothing you need to be jealous of, Jan. Even if she wraps around my body, she can't replace you here." He pointed to his chest.
“Really?”
He nodded and ruffled my hair again. "Don't stress yourself, that will make you ugly," he said.
I snorted at him and blinked slightly. "I'm okay now," I said, then smiled.
"Shit, Jan! Don't be cute in front of me or I won't be able to stop myself from kissing you."
I suddenly bent down. "I'm not pretending to be cute, I'm just cute," I boasted. "Don't you dare to kiss me, I will kick you," I threatened.
“Gosh! As I remembered you liked kissing me, did you?" he joked.
"Did I kiss you? I don't remember kissing you," I said softly.
“Don't act–“
"I've been looking for you for a while and you're just here."
The joy and excitement on my face suddenly disappeared when Jame appeared next to Mar and immediately wrapped her arm around him. I looked away from them.
"Practice hasn't started yet, Jame, so please, even if it's just now, just let me stay away from you," Mar said with an annoyed face. Mar, removed her arm that was wrapped around him.
"What are you saying, Mar, we're partners remember? I should always be with you, not someone else's partner," Jame said. He turned to me. "Isn't it, Jan?"
I just nodded even though it was against me. "Alright, I'll go first," I said goodbye and quickly turned my back on them.
I'm annoyed but I believe in Mar that Jame can't replace me.

THE weekend came and I decided to go out with Ken. I woke up early and got dressed. I'm only wearing a white t-shirt, pants, and sneakers.
"'Mom, I'm leaving," I said goodbye to my mom, Maddie.
"Alright, I want you to be careful, ok? Your friends have been waiting for you outside," she said.
I wondered. I kissed mom first before leaving the house and that's how I was surprised to see Ken and Mar, leaning on their respective cars. I winced because it looked like it was going to be a riot again.
"Good morning, Jan," the two greeted almost at the same time.
I didn't answer. I examined the two who both had their arms folded. I can't say anything about their outfits because there is nothing to say about the two of them because they are very handsome in their clothes.
"You're going to ride in my car."
I frowned at what the two said almost at the same time. I'm starting to break out right at the beginning of the day, how about later? I might go crazy listening to them.
"Wait, wait, wait!" I stopped them.
"What are you two doing, huh?" I confront.
"I want you to be in my car, Jan," said Mar.
"It's better if you ride in my car, Jan. I have my student license, you're safe with me," said Ken.
I saw Mar turn to Ken. "And you think I don't? Do you want me to show you my student license?" He faced me. "You will ride with me, Jan," he said authoritatively.
"Stop it you two! My head hurts because of you." I put my head down and slightly closed my eyes. I sighed. "Then let's be like this, we'll only use one car so there's no trouble, okay?" I said.
"Huh? Eh, whose car?" Ken.
"Mar's car," I announced. "If anyone objects to you, then go out with yourself," I threatened them.
It was good that the two did not complain and just followed what I just said.
“You will drive Ken–“
"Why—" Mar interrupted what I was going to say but I didn't let him finish either.
"You, Mar, sit there in the front seat."
He faced me in shock. "I'm in the front seat, then he's the driver? I want you next to me," Mar complained like a child.
"If you don't want to, I won't come," I threatened.
"Alright, I will," he said as he frowned. Ken just shook his head.
I got into the backseat and smiled because Mar and Ken were silent. If they don't want to be close to each other I'll just make a way for them to get close.
A few minutes later, we arrived at the mall. We got out of the car and went in there. There are a lot of people inside because it's the weekend.
First, we went to clothing stores to buy clothes there. I'm always in the middle of the two who always seem to have tension when it comes to shopping for clothes to buy.
"It's not your thing," Ken commented.
"It's nice," said Mar.
I returned to the fitting room with my shoulders slumped. It's been a while since those two have always had opposing opinions. Are they teasing? I lost the desire to try other clothes.
"Let's go," I said as soon as I got out of the fitting room.
"Huh? We're not done yet here, Jan, you haven't chosen anything yet," Mar said, standing up from his seat.
I snorted and scratched my forehead. "Do you think I could choose what is the best if you always have different opinions?" I said annoyed. "Let's go." I walked out of the store.
"I'm sorry, Jan is like Ke-"
I faced Mar. "Stop it, Mar, if you're just like that, it's better for you to go home."
"Sorry, Jan," said Ken. "I did not intend for that to happen. It was my opinion. I promise, that will not happen again," he added.
"Just make sure otherwise, I'll beat you both," I threatened.
Next, we went to the shoe store where I didn't ask the two of them for their opinion so I wouldn't get confused.
"Let's eat first," Ken said when we left the shoe store.
I agreed because I could feel my stomach growl because of hunger.
We looked for something to eat at the mall and immediately chose a restaurant. The price of the food makes me cry but I don't understand why these two ordered so much.
"Doesn't it look like a lot?" I asked.
"Just eat, Jan," Mar interrupted and immediately filled my plate with food. I was even surprised that Ken did the same.
I looked at both of them with serious faces. Mar was annoyed and turned to Ken because of what he did.
Ken and Mar seem to be competing at the table. They try to tease each other because every time one puts food on my plate, the other will copy it. I'm going crazy about these two being like this. I could hardly enjoy the food.
After we ate, we went around the mall before deciding to go to the arcade.
I smiled because Ken and Mar's being cute came out more. The two even competed in basketball while I just watched. I can see a little association forming between them and I hope it continues until they both become friends.
