Chapter 60 The Reunion

Lady Kira has been walking for days with the amulet in her hand, she had been looking for the hideout of Vollak but finding it seemed much more harder than she has thought.
How stupid has she been? Does she think trying to avenge her father is going to come easily by finding the dark witch of magic?
Suddenly a huge crash landed some meters before her which made her flinch in fear, what was that that Caused the explosion?
She hastened her steps while her sword was pulled out to defend herself against any external attack.
She walked stealthily and she sensed a faint movement and a rough cough which made her hide behind a tree.
She peeped out and saw a man with white long beards limp out of the crate he had created when he landed and the old man suddenly faced her.
Did he see her? How did he know she was There?
She peeped again only to see the man behind her staring deeply into her which made her scream, she tripped on the wood behind her and she fell, the amulet rolled away from her hand and she scurried to pick it but the old man reached out to it before she could and that angered her.
She stood up in annoyance and pointed her sword at the old man in anger, accessing him, she figured out that he was weak, bloodied from a stronger opponent.
"Give back the amulet old man!"
She snapped angrily but the man kept staring at the amulet like he had seen it before.
He swiftly pulled her closer and tilted her neck sideways and there was a tiny mark on her neck.
Herald froze... It was his amulet, the one he had placed on his child before the child was abducted together with his wife and killed.
He saw his child die... The exact same mark of the knife that had been impaled into his child's neck.
"Theresa"
He muttered and Kira who still struggled to free herself from the man who was unusually stronger for his age's grip paused.
She knew that voice... She had always heard that voice when she was too little to vaguely remember yet... She remembered she knew the voice.
Herald was already emotional, after he had been hit away from the battlefield by the entity they were facing, he had wanted to go back there and fight even if it cost his life but now his life was about to experience another drastic turn. His long dead child... His daughter was before him, with the amulet he had given her when she was still a baby.
"My child..."
He said the words he has never believed would ever say in his years of existence.

[Some Twenty - twenty five years back]
Lord Gua together with his army continued their conquest through the rural region in the dark world, he came across a big village which had bloods flowing on every angles.
He stopped and looked around to avoid and sniff out danger or any living creature but he found none.
His men readied their swords, arrows and bows and slowly marched into the void kingdom.
"Bloody fuck!"
Lord Gua gasped as he saw bodies of creatures ripped apart in different angles, all massacred ruthlessly like a volcano of that had payed them a visit.
"This pack is wiped out, which pack would have caused much havoc and spared no one?"
One of the soldiers asked but it was question with no answers.
They made to leave but an infant cry filled the air which made everyone uneasy.
A baby is alive!
They rushed to where the sound came from and they saw a baby on the floor, near her mother's side who had a dagger staked in her heart, the baby had little bloods flowing from her neck while the major hit had been stopped by the amulet.
Lord Gua carried the baby and looked around, no survivor.
"The baby and the mother were attacked with a knife while the others were ripped apart in a gruesome way... Which means, Whoever had killed these men must have been someone related to the baby and the mother"
Lord Gua stated.
"You mean, someone like the father?"
A soldier asked and lord Gua nodded.
"Yes, a father but a merciless one... Ruthless to the core"
Lord Gua muttered.
"We keep the child... When the time comes, she might be lucky to meet her father.."

Daughter... No, he can't be saying the truth! How could such a man be his father!
No... Her father is Gua and he's dead.
In as much she tried denying the fact, there was this bond that was ignited within them that made everything seemed to slow down.
The bond that made everything perfect between a father and his daughter.
"Father..."
She muttered slowly as images flashed in her memory of the happy old man who had always carried her in his chest and rocked her, the image of her father who had always picked her thumb and put it in his mouth, the image of her father who had always looked down on her face with a smile while carrying her.
She dropped the amulet and her sword and wobbled towards her bloodied father while tears was slowly falling from her face.
There was no denying it... This man is her father.
"Theresa..."
Herald called again and this time, pulled her into a hug, never wanting to release his grip neither she wanting to release hers.
"I thought you were dead... I'm sorry for leaving you out there... I am sorry my daughter"
He whimpered above her shoulder and the little girl couldn't help but shed tears beneath his grip.
Everything just felt perfect.
Their reunion was cut off when suddenly the sky turned dark, startling both of them.
Herald's eyes took a shade of blue and brief visions flashed in his subconscious.
"Drey?"
He muttered and Kira stiffened, the name Drey, the boy who had become a beast, a creature from hell and who had killed Lord Gua who was once her father.
"That bastard killed my father... Wait, how did you do that?"
She cursed as she narrowed her eyes at the strong old man she still didn't really believe could be her father.
"There are many thing you don't know about me... About Drey, he killed your father? I mean the man who took care of you?"
"Yes... He did, he transformed into a devil and I was planning on avenging him for killing my dad..."
She frowned.
"Drey is my adopted son, your brother and trust me... He's not just any creature, he's a creature if destruction... A God"
"A God? My brother?"
She asked in shock.
"Trust me... We need him more than ever to stop the destruction of the dark world. He is our only hope..."
Inwardly, he couldn't shudder the feeling away, his son was alive.
Drey is alive!
