Chapter 97 It's not over yet
Asia's viewpoint
The wolf was strong, I give her credit for that. Even in wolf form, she was stronger and I wondered why she hadn't shifted since it would be easier to use her magic, but that thought was for myself. Having no other such, Myrtle forced me to shift to a horrible form because her light was doing more of the hurting than her fighting.
Shooting my hands forward repeatedly to at least get a hit on her while trying to maintain my barrier in case she used her speed to come closer, I also concentrated on grounding my spell, the spell I learnt from a ancient book. A spell that hunts positive and light energy. It was the only way I could get pass her.
The wolf was fast, too fast as she skillfully dodged every attack I sent to her, almost with effort. She had been running around for over ten minutes without actually trying to attack me, almost as she wanted to exhaust me first. She had no idea I could never be drained.
‘No, I think she is up to something,’ Myrtle said suspiciously. ‘Her glow increases every single second, almost like she's channelling her powers into a spell.’
Spell or not, I just needed to keep her away enough for me to finish my spell. The wolf suddenly leapt forward, a powerful light bursting out of her body. I used one of the serpents to cover my eyes as I groan, stepping away from the light or trying to step away. I felt time freeze around me because the wind stilled. However, I jumped out of the way before she collide with me.
I opened my eyes when the light stopped. I was shocked to see myself in a bright space. The ground was made out of some kind of jewel, it colour between pink and yellow. Space rocks flew around here and there in the sky, the lavender sky. I caught myself in time to snap my neck to the wolf staring at me.
"Where, where am I?" I asked. Stupid thing to ask a giant wolf. Instead of answering, the place began to spin, like really really spin. I dug my hands and feet to the ground to hold myself before I fly off.
As the place continued to spin faster and faster, her body glowed brighter until only light surrounded her.
We can't work like this, Asia, I'm taking over.
Xyra's viewpoint
I merged us back together, I needed to do that. It was easier to take back my body as within two minutes, I was on my knees, naked and Majesty back in my head. I panted from exhausting my powers that much. I shouldn't have done that but I had to.
‹Xyra, Myrtle!›
I shot up from my kneeling position to see the world I created turning black as Myrtle's dark shadow magic spread everywhere. The fog grew wider, filling the entire space and trapping me in my own world.
"Okay, not good," I reached in for the energy that was left in me and brought it out. My entire body glowed as the energy swirled around me to keep the shadows three feet away from me.
One shadow snake suddenly appeared. I wasn't fast enough to avoid it so it struck me on my back. My body went flying through the dark clouds but before I plunge into the ground, another appeared and struck me at my side, throwing me off again. It continued like that with them striking and biting me before I caught myself.
The venom of the snake quickly spread across my body. I focused my energy on trying to destroy it from the inside. It wasn't going well. The venom felt like being eaten alive, organs after organs and excruciatingly slow but yet quick. The pain made it too hard to focus on what to do and how to do it.
‹Xyra, focus!› Majesty shouted. ‹You promised Carswell you would survive, for our pups and mate. What have you been training for all your life! Come on, snap out of it!›
Of course, I didn't forget about my training but I was weak and my mental ability was crumbling. Myrtle was able to take over my own created realm, therefore having the access to disorient my mind. There was no way I could think of a strategy because she would know and avoid it. But unfortunately for her, I knew how to fight without thinking. Zephyr's style.
Two struck me at my legs, held their teeth in long enough to rip out the flesh as they toss me to another again. Not thinking about it, I spun my stiff body fast enough to use my hands to grab the head of the next serpent. I spun around again, grabbing the other with my hand. And in that swift moment, my claws extended and sank into their face and eye.
The light energy I had inside me released into their body and destroyed them within two seconds of sinking in. I landed on my feet, not giving myself time before quickly turning and grabbing the next one coming for me. I caught it head, yanked it under my legs and smash it. My light was the only thing that could destroy them. As Majesty worked on healing me, I channelled the remaining light to my feet and hands.
I continued to grab and kill them, causing Myrtle to scream with frustration from wherever she was. My energy built back as I healed faster and faster, and with every energy I built, the light around me continued to increase and her darkness decreased.
"You little witch, just die!" She screeched. I pictured the world I actually created in my mind, concentrated and focused my energy and powers on the image and not the darkness around me. I imagined the darkness begin to take form to my world, starting with a white and blue cloud overshadowing the dark.
I hissed when I felt the pressure in my head; Myrtle was trying to take control as well. But this was my own world, she was inside my mind and had no right to recreate what I created.
I continued to chant the spell over and over again, stepping forward to her location by following her scream. The space continued to burnt hotter and brighter as I chant on. The water from below the void rose up and whirled around the small cut out ground we were on, so the light could shine down on the hole in the middle and zero in on it target. The dark shadows completely dismiss, I could see Myrtle now.
I used my wolf speed to run to her. She was on her knees, screaming as she tried to cover her body from the heat. I grasp her head, ignoring the serpents that were striking my hands. I changed the words to the one Zeus gave me. Yes, he told me what to say in the dream.
"Myrtus, venefica obscura et venefica magicae, interfector omnium bonorum et ancillae Eridis, deae discordiae, et Ares, deus belli. Per Iovem, regem deorum, rectorem Olympiae et custodem in potestate mea. Ego, Diana, ultima Selene filia, in profundissima Tartari voragine te in aeternum decerno, nunquam exsurgere, nunquam desperationis vinculis frangi, et nunquam videre lucem diei pro omnibus, quas habes. fieri terram."
"No, no, please, don't send me there!" I stepped away from her a little and lash my chains around her, to keep her down long enough. Once she was secured, I quickly stepped away from her, very far away so when the portal to the abyss open, it wouldn't drag me along.
Asia continued to scream and cry as she tried to get out of the chains. The portal opened up behind her, like a wormhole. I shot my hands forward, controlling some water to surround me so the suction of air from the portal won't get to me. Asia screeched as she rolled on the floor, yanking at the chains burning her hands. Two large hands came out of the portal. One grabbed Asia and the other plunge itself into her body. When it pulled out, it dragged Myrtle's spirit out of Asia and into the portal before it closed.
The world slowly cracked and shattered. I was back outside the witch mansion. My legs weakened as the after pain came. I fell on my knees, clutching my stomach as I wheezed and gasped for air. I pushed the remaining of my energy into my stomach to protect my babies from whatever would happen next.
