Chapter Thirty Three

"Good! Watch out Princess Cassandra, you're going to receive a visitor."
****
Principal Rayner sat down in his office, going through some files but he couldn't concentrate. His mind was clouded with the thoughts of Cassie. He hoped that his plan was going well. If anything should fail now, there was gonna be trouble.
Rayner was still thinking when he felt a chill and turned to see her.
"I thought I told you not to see me until you get the job done," Rayner said to her.
The lady chuckled and sat down on the chair facing him. "You aren't the boss of me, Rayner." She snapped.
"We are in this together. No one is the boss of the other." Rayner stated and she scoffed.
"Don't you wanna know why I'm here?" She asked.
"Of course, I do. Tell me," Rayner said.
"Well, your plan is already being executed, ready to be implemented. According to what I heard, she is supposed to come to Athens after two years of training." The lady said.
"She would be 19 years then. Isn't she supposed to take over when she turns 18?" Rayner asked. He was getting annoyed.
"That is what the king and queen has decided. Cassie would come to the realm after two years so as to become one with her throne. We can't counter that decision, but can only wait patiently." The lady said.
"You know that I am not good at waiting." Rayner complained.
"You have to, if you want to take over that throne. You should be happy that I'm giving you solid information from the source. Do you know that you are a step ahead of the witches and demons?" She asked and stood up.
"Yes, I'm aware." Rayner answered.
"In order to continue being in the lead, you have to be patient. I'm leaving now. I will inform you when I hear better news," She said and disappeared without waiting for him to say anything.
Rayner looked around his office and chuckled. "The patient dog eats the fattest bone," He said.
The door opened and Asher entered.
"Son," He called and sat up incase Asher would notice something different. "What are you doing here so early?" He asked in a bid to divert Asher's attention.
Asher ignored his question and asked his instead. "Who were you talking with?"
Rayner coughed and cleared his throat. "Talking? Me? I wasn't talking to anyone." He answered.
"But, I'm sure that I heard voices," Asher said.
"Don't mind me dear, I was talking to myself."
"It was a female voice, dad."
"You must have heard wrong, Asher. I'm serious here, I was talking to myself." Rayner defended but Asher wasn't ready to have any of it.
"It is unlike you to just talk to yourself, dad. But since you've insisted on lying to me, I will say nothing but let me make this clear, none of your plans against Cassie will work, okay?" Asher warned and stormed out.
"Did my son just turn against me because of a girl?" Rayner asked no one in particular.

Kash stepped into the class later. Even though he was Cassie's guardian and is supposed to always be by her side, he felt that it was necessary to give her a little bit of space for herself. He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable with him around all the time.
As he walked into the class, the girls started drooling and murmuring amongst themselves.
"I wish he would come sit with me."
"Same here. Look at those crystal clear eyes, he's an angel."
"I thought Asher was cute but never imagined that I would meet a Greek god."
"I wish he would ask me out one day."
Cassie scoffed as she listened to their conversation. "In your dreams, bitçhes." She muttered under her breath.
"In whose dreams?" Kash asked as he sat down beside her.
Cassie gasped. "Oh my! You startled me."
"Sorry. Just saw you talking to yourself. What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing. I was memorizing something for today's class." Cassie said and Kash cleared his throat.
"Did you read yesterday?" He asked.
"No." She answered.
"Then what are you memorizing?" Kash asked.
Cassie pressed her lips into a thin line and Kash chuckled.
"You look cute when you have nothing to say," He said.
"Are you turning into a flirt now?" She asked.
"No, I'm not." Kash pouted.
"See? You look cute when you pout like that," She said and they laughed.
Asher entered the class and saw them laughing. He sighed and left. He wanted to ask if Cassie would like to go and have ice cream with him after school but he wouldn't be able to do that with Kash around her all the time.
The students settled down as the English teacher entered the class. After they had greeted her, she turned to the marker board and wrote test. The class gasped.
"Bring out your test booklets and write down these questions." Ms. Flora ordered and the students started grumbling.
"But ma, you didn't inform us about any tests." A girl known as Veronica said.
"As students, it is mandatory that you must be prepared for anything." Ms. Flora answered.
"But it isn't fair, ma. It is clearly stated in the school rules and regulations that teachers should give students a week notice before giving them any tests." Cassie said.
"That was in the past." Ms. Flora said.
"I disagree with you, Ms. Flora. If you look at the school rules and regulations, you would notice that it was established this year, as soon as we resumed school." Cassie said.
"You're a new student right?" Ms. Flora asked.
"Yes, ma." Cassie answered.
"Which means that you know absolutely nothing about the school rules and regulations. I'd prefer you keep your mouth shut and sit down else, you are going to fail this subject, understood?" Ms. Flora asked.
"No." Cassie answered and the students gasped.
"No?" Ms. Flora gritted her teeth as she made her way to where Cassie stood. Kash stood up and faced her.
"What are you trying to do? You want to support her, right?" Ms. Flora snapped at him but he stood unmoved.
"What she just said was right. We have the right as students to get a week notice before any test. It is mandatory for all the teachers, including you." Kash said.
"Are you trying to order me? Your teacher?" Ms. Flora asked.
"No, but you should act like one. If you as a teacher refuses to follow the school rules and regulations, what do you expect us as students to do? I can remember that since we resumed, you've only visited this class once. Now, you're coming the second time and you want us to write test. What exactly do you want us to write?" Kash asked.
"Is that not why you have textbooks?" Ms. Flora snapped.
"We don't and you never recommended textbooks to us. If you want to give us tests, you can inform us today then come back next week. We will be ready then because we aren't ready now," Kash faced the class. "Or are you guys ready?" He asked.
"No!" They all chorused.
Kash faced Ms. Flora again. "There you have it. We aren't ready, so are you going to teach us or leave?" Kash asked.
Ms. Flora was shocked. No student had stood up to her in such manner before. The way he spoke like he was ordering gave her the chills. She wanted to leave but her pride didn't make her want to lose to a student.
"Follow me to the principal's office, two of you." She pointed to Kash and Cassie who shrugged and followed her.
"Did you see that? Kash is so cool!"
The students started murmuring amongst themselves.
"I want to get into trouble too. If he gets detention, I'm going with him."
"He did nothing wrong, so he isn't going on detention."
Diego, who was listening to them stood up and left the class.
***
Ms. Flora brought Kash and Cassie into Rayner's office. Immediately Rayner set his eyes on them, he scoffed.
"Ms. Flora, you're quite popular with fighting your students. I am sure that these students have no fault in whatever happened, so please leave my office." Rayner said with the aim of creating a good impression. He was aware Kash must have used his sharp tongue while Cassie must have used her stubbornness.
"But, principal Rayner_"
"Ms. Flora, please leave." Rayner ordered and Ms. Flora stormed out.
Kash knew what Rayner was up to, so he simply held Cassie's hand and took her out of the office. Rayner chuckled and returned his attention to the files he was going through.
***
Diego stepped outside and went to the back of the class. He sat down and sighed when someone appeared before him. Diego gasped and stood up.
"Master Drake!" He gasped.
"Calm down, Diego. I am not here to hurt you, at least not now. You have something that I most definitely need to carry out my mission." Master Drake said.
"And that is?" Diego asked fearfully.
"Your body and powers."
