Chapter Thirty Six

"Kash, are you alright?" Cassie asked.
"I'm fine! I'm perfectly fine." Kash answered, shooting Jaden a terrible glare.
"What's up with him?" Cassie muttered and pouted.
"The number?" Jaden asked.
"Oh, yeah." Cassie smiled and took his phone.
"Don't give it to him, don't give it to him." Kash kept on repeating this in his mind but it seemed Cassie couldn't hear him because she gave him the number and returned his phone.
"I'll give you a call today," Jaden said and stood up. "It was nice meeting you, Cass and you too, Kash and Diego." Jaden smiled.
Kash scoffed and looked away.
"It was nice meeting you too, Jaden." Diego smiled back.
"See you guys in class," Diego said and left.
Cassie smiled and turned to look at Kash who was playing with his food.
"What is wrong with him?" Cassie whispered to Diego.
"He's just having a bad day, I guess." Diego answered. He didn't want to tell her that Kash was acting like that because he was jealous.
"The Kash I know is a cool headed person. He doesn't let things get to him to the extent of making him sad," Cassie said.
"I don't really know. Why don't I excuse you two?" Diego said and stood up.
"Oh, okay." Cassie replied.
"See you in class," Diego said and left.
Cassie moved closer to and sat beside Kash.
"Kash?" She called.
"Hmm?" He answered.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yes." He answered
Cassie took in her lower lip and held his hand. "Are you angry with me?" She asked.
Kash looked at her hand on his then back to her face. She wanted to remove her hand but he held her. He relaxed the moment her hand touched his and now she wants to let go? He was not going to let that happen.
"Why would you think that I'm angry with you?" He asked.
"Well... Maybe because of Jaden. I am only friendly with him because he is a good guy. I didn't sense danger from him and he can't hurt me, if that's what you're worried about." Cassie explained and Kash sighed.
"You were just being friendly with him?" Kash asked.
"Yes, of course. What else were you thinking of?" Cassie asked and Kash coughed.
"Nothing. Finish up your food," Kash said.
"You barely ate yours. Don't you like the food?" Cassie asked.
"No, it's okay." Kash answered.
"But you ended up breaking an innocent spoon." Cassie scolded him.
"It wasn't intentional." Kash defended himself.
"Uh-huh." Cassie gave him a knowing look.
"I'm serious. I'll go get a new spoon," Kash said and stood up to get the spoon.
Cassie chuckled. "He's too cute." She smiled and continued to eat her meal.
"Hi, Cassie." Asher waved and sat down.
"Asher, how are you doing?" She asked.
"I'm doing fine." Asher answered.
"Have you eaten lunch or you want to share mine?" She asked.
"No need. I'm good," Asher answered and she smiled. "Where is Kash?" Asher asked.
"He went to get something." Cassie answered.
"I was wondering if we can go have ice cream together after school. Just me and you, what do you think?" Asher asked.
"Oh my! I would love to but I already asked Kash to take me out for ice cream after school today. Would you like to come with us? The more, the merrier." Cassie smiled.
"No. Maybe next time," Asher said. Kash arrived and sat down. "Hi, Kash." Asher smiled to ease the tension.
"Hi." Kash replied and started eating without paying any attention to Asher. He knew what Asher was up to and he was determined to show the vampire that he didn't like him one bit.
"I'll be going now." Asher stood up and left.
"Don't tell me what he was here for. I already know," Kash said when Cassie was about to say something.
"Did you listen to my thoughts again?" Cassie asked.
"Well..." He trailed off and looked up to meet her glaring eyes. "Don't glare at me like that. Gosh! It's scary," He said.
"I'm waiting for the day I'll be able to hear your thoughts. I'll make sure I make you feel it." She said and Kash laughed.
"I really want that day to come." Kash smiled. That would be the day she would tell him that she loved him.
"Hmph!" She huffed and looked away.

"Lily, you have to stop. Your behavior doesn't define a princess." Stella scolded.
"No. Out of all the girls in this school, Jaden had to have to have lunch with that bitçh called Cassie. What about me?" Lily snapped.
"You? The girl on the Wheelchair? Who the fvck would wanna have lunch with you?" Stella asked.
"Stella!" Zeeva called warningly.
"What? I'm trying to state the obvious fact here. She should think about healing and getting back on her feet other than someone else's downfall." With that said, Stella walked away.
"I would have gotten rid of her long ago, if her mother wasn't part of the witches council." Lily snapped.
"Calm down, okay? She is purposely being troublesome." Zeeva cooed.

After school, Kash and Cassie bade Diego farewell before stepping out and heading towards the ice cream shop.
"I've been meaning to ask," Cassie stopped and faced Kash.
"What is that?" Kash asked.
"Who was that man staring at me in class today? He possessed a lot of bad energy that almost made me breathless," Cassie said.
"He is Drake, lord of the Underworld." Kash answered.
"You mean, the devil?" Cassie asked.
"You could call him that." Kash shrugged.
"But, what does he want from me? Why was he staring at me like that?" Cassie asked.
"That... I'm trying to find out. You don't need to worry or get scared. I'm here for you," Kash said and she smiled.
"Thanks for always being there for me," Cassie said.
"It's my pleasure." He smiled.
They got to the ice cream store and entered.
"Over here," Kash pointed to a table for two in the middle. He made Cassie sit down and asked, "What flavor do you want me to get for you?" Cassie thought for a while. "Oh, I got it. Vanilla flavor with strawberry toppings," He smiled and left.
"He heard my thoughts again," Cassie said and smiled. She would normally get angry whenever he heard her thoughts but now, she didn't know why but she liked it whenever he told her what she was thinking about. "I wish I could hear his thoughts too. I really want to know what he thinks of me." She muttered and covered her mouth. Why would she want to know what he thought of her? She sighed and stared at how he was talking with the ice cream man.
She put her elbow on the table and rested her jaw on her hand while staring at him. He looked so cute with his blue hair, he got the perfect body as well and his smile could melt the strongest of hearts. She wondered what he looked like in his supernatural form? She was so lost that she didn't know when Kash returned with the ice cream.
Kash watched her staring into space. He wanted to know what she was thinking about but he didn't want to invade her privacy. Besides, it seemed she didn't like it whenever he heard her thoughts.
"Cassie?" He tapped her shoulder, snapping her out of her reverie.
Cassie gasped. "Gosh! When did you get here?" She asked.
"Just now. What's wrong? You looked deep in thought. Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Just thinking about something important." She answered with a smile.
Kash nodded and sat down. "Here is the ice cream you asked for."
"Oh, thanks." She smiled and took it from him.
Kash watched her closely to see her reaction after tasting the ice cream and it was a good one.
"You like it?" He asked and she nodded.
"What about you?" Cassie asked.
"Hm?"
"Aren't you going to take ice cream?" She asked.
"I'm okay watching you." He answered.
Cassie blushed. "You always say that. Come on, try something new for once. I am sure that since you came to earth, you haven't tasted ice cream, or am I wrong?" She asked.
"No, but I don't know what it'll do to me, since I haven't tried it before." Kash answered.
"You never know until you try." Cassie said.
"What if it freezes my powers, you know because it is cold." Kash said.
"It won't freeze your powers. You're from the ocean and the ocean is cold, so..." She trailed off.
"Fine. I'll try one," He said.
"Don't worry, I'll get you one. I should do things for you sometimes," Cassie said and stood up.
Kash smiled and watched her get an ice cream from the man. She brought it to him. "Have it, I'm sure you're going to like it," She said.
Kash collected it from her and sniffed it first. Cassie laughed at his cuteness. He took a spoon and scooped up a small quantity. He stared at it for a while before putting it in his mouth.
"Mmmmh!" He exclaimed.
"Do you like it?" She asked. He nodded and started rushing it. "Calm down, you might get a brain freeze." Cassie laughed.
***
"Why are you back so soon, Crystal?" Queen Lucinda asked.
"I have news. Drake, the demon lord visited the school today."
