Chapter Forty Two
"Cassie's Aunt? Why?" Mia asked.
"Apparently, she has a few informations I would like to hear." Diego answered.
"So, are you going to take it by force or..." Ian trailed off.
"It depends on whether she cooperates with me or not."
"Do you want to get exposed? Aunt Maggie is already suspecting you. Going there and asking for whatever information you're looking for will confirm her suspicions. If you get caught, then your plans will be foiled." Mia scolded him.
"I really need an information about that book. It seems connected to Kash and Cassie. If it is something I can use to destroy Kash and bring Cassie to my side, then I must have it. Remember, whoever side she is on becomes the ruler of the realm." Diego chuckled.
"That is after she might have been brain washed." Ian rolled his eyes.
"Well, I know of a library where you can find all of the supernatural books. It is called the library of magic. Maybe, the book you're talking about is there." Mia stated.
"Do more research and get back to me." He ordered.
"No problem." They bowed.
"I have to go and meet that guardian and Cassie. I am learning a lot from them." He chuckled and disappeared.
"Let's go, Ian," Mia turned but couldn't find him. "Ian?" She called.
"Mia, come over here. I found something!" Ian exclaimed.
"Why are you snooping around his stuff?" Mia snapped.
"It's a good one this time. Look at this." He showed Mia a paper with something written on it.
Mia gasped. "Can he really do that?" She asked no one in particular.
"Of course he can. If he can't, he wouldn't have written it down," Ian said.
"We have to show this to master Drake. He will so glad!" She ululated.
"Yes, he will." Ian smiled and they disappeared.

"You're almost there, Cassie." Kash encouraged her.
Cassie struggled before she finally lifted the table. She used her telekinesis to lift it up and brought it down.
"Try again," Kash said.
She tried to lift it and this time, it wasn't hard anymore. She lifted it like it was nothing.
"Now, try and see if you can maintain it in the air," He said.
"I can do this." She exhaled.
"You did it!" Kash exclaimed and she brought it down.
She was overjoyed. "I really did it!" She exclaimed and surprisingly hugged Kash.
Kash was taken aback that he didn't know how to react to this sudden hug.
"Ahem!" Diego cleared his throat and Cassie quickly disengaged from the hug. "Are you guys playing love or training?" He asked, walking towards them.
"No!" They exclaimed at the same time.
"Which of the questions did you two answer?" Diego asked.
Kash and Cassie exchanged glances.
"You're here. Let's continue!" Kash changed the topic.
Diego smirked. "Okay. I'll just stand here and watch you guys," He said.
Kash was about to continue but stopped and looked at Diego. He thought of Aunt Maggie's warnings and that was when he started realizing Diego's weird behavior. He had known Diego to be a very simpleminded person who doesn't interfere in other people's businesses but now, he was suddenly interested in the Vampires which seemed strange. Kash sensed that something was wrong but as much as he tried to place his fingers on it, he couldn't.
"Aren't you going to train anymore?" Diego asked.
"Umm... I just remembered that I need to be somewhere. I actually have a lot to do now, so I'll be going home. Diego, we'll have to leave your training till tomorrow night. Cassie, let me take you home." He grabbed her wrist.
Cassie in her confused state waved at Diego as she allowed Kash take her away.
"He is acting weird. Could he have found out something?" Diego asked, massaging his temple.
"What happened? Why did you suddenly stop the training?" Cassie asked as they walked home.
"I think something is wrong with Diego." Kash answered with furrowed eyebrows.
"I don't get it," Cassie said.
"Diego isn't acting like himself. Also, something weird happened at lunch today." Kash raised a brow.
"What happened?" Cassie was interested.
"Well... Today, I touched Diego but something odd happened," Kash paused and looked at Cassie. She urged him to go on, signifying that she was listening. "Immediately my hand made contact with him, I felt my powers draining. It was like something was sucking in my powers. I had to remove my hands immediately and now, I'm not sure if it is one of his powers or something else." Kash ruffled his hair.
"It could be one of his powers. Who knows?" Cassie shrugged. "I think we should tell him so people wouldn't get their powers sucked into him by mistake."
"I don't think that's a good idea now. Remember when Aunt Maggie said we should be weary of him?" Kash asked rhetorically.
Cassie nodded. "I guess you're right."
"Maybe, I'll visit the library soon and look for a book on chameleon shapeshifters and how well they use camouflage." Kash rubbed his palms together.
"I hope you find something meaningful. Also, I have something to tell you," Cassie said.
Kash stopped walking. "What is it?" He asked, facing her.
"I wanted to wait till the announcement was made but since you're my guardian, I don't want to hide things from you." She bent her head.
"I'm all ears." He tucked his hands into his pockets.
"The school dance is coming up, so Asher asked me to be his date." Cassie looked up at him to see his reaction.
Kash remaind calm. "How did you know that? The principal hasn't announced it yet."
"Asher is the principal's son. He got to know before hand, so he asked me to be his date. I wanted to be fair so I said yes." She explained, hoping he would understand.
Kash sighed. "It's alright. I have no problem with that."
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah. All that matters is your happiness." He smiled.
"Thanks." She smiled and they began walking home.
Although he wasn't happy with the fact that Asher played dirty by getting the information early and asking her out to the dance, he wanted her to be happy.

THE WITCHES COUNCIL
As usual, the witches were all sitted, discussing on how to attack the demons.
"Are you sure you can do that alone?" Ursula asked.
"It is only one demon. Master Drake is no match for me." Queen Lucinda cackled.
"Even at that, you need backup. I can give you a few of my poisonous flowers. It would weaken him in one strike." Azula offered.
"If I weaken him in one strike then there wouldn't be any fun, would they?" Queen Lucinda asked rhetorically.
"You can use my spell book. After all, you asked for it." Yvonne smirked.
"Yeah. I would need that spell book. Its dark magic would give me a upper hand against them. They think they can claim the heiress? I'm about to show them that they are only after their own lives." She smirked.
"Exactly. The heiress must surely be thrown over to our side. We are the most powerful witches ever born. The supernatural realm should accord us due respect." Ursula frowned.
"That can only happen when we take the princess and brainwash her into serving us." Yvonne stated.
"Yeah. We will be unstoppable with her by our side." Azula smiled.
"That is the reason why we need to eliminate the demons." Queen Lucinda said.
"We will do that." Yvonne nodded.
"We haven't heard anything from the Vampires." Azula stated.
"I don't think they're planning anything." Ursula shook her head.
"Don't be so sure. Rayner is synonymous to slow poison. He does his own scheming on a low key. Whenever the vampire Alpha is quiet, just know that he is planning something huge." Yvonne smirked.
"Whatever his plans are, we will be ready for him." Queen Lucinda stood up.

THE RAYNER'S
"You seem to be in a good mood today, son." Brittany smiled as she dished food in a plate for Rayner. She couldn't remember the last time Asher ate his food with a smile on his face.
"I followed your advice and it paid off." Asher smiled.
"You asked her to the dance?" She asked excitedly.
"Yes and she said yes." Asher beamed.
"That was a pretty bold step you took. And by her, did you mean Cassie?" Rayner asked.
"Yes." Asher answered.
"Wow! That is a good opportunity for you to win her heart and bring her over to our side." Rayner smiled.
"Dad, I told you that I am not interested in doing that and I will never do it." Asher replied.
"Don't pester him too much, honey. You need to respect his choice." Brittany placed her hand on Rayner's shoulder and stood up for the kitchen.
"This is a huge opportunity. Love is the greatest weapon you can use." Rayner probed further.
"Dad, I already said that I am not doing it. I think I'll leave the dining for you." Asher stood up, picked his food and wanted to leave for his room but his father's question made him halt.
"Do you want Kash to get her instead? I think he is falling for her and who knows, she might end up loving him, leaving you heartbroken. Is that what you want?" He asked.
"She can't do that. She loves me." Asher said.
"That was before, not now. It is either you find a way to keep her for yourself or let Kash have her." Rayner smirked.
"Kash can't have her!" Asher snapped.
"Then, make her yours. In life, we have to be selfish to get most of the things we desire."

DIEGO'S APARTMENT
Diego appeared and sat down on the bed. Mia and Ian appeared.
"I don't remember requesting your presence." He rolled his eyes, pulling off his jacket.
"Yes but we have great news!" Mia shrieked.
"I'm listening."
"We did some research about the library of magic and found out that only pure hearted supernaturals are allowed entrance..." Ian trailed off.
"...And Kash is the online pure hearted supernatural we have now. So, since you're a shapeshifter and can change to any human being or animal..." Mia trailed off.
"I can transform into Kash and will be allowed access to the library. Brilliant!" Diego sprung up.
"That's not all. We also found something that can make you win any battle you engage in with Kash and end him for good." Mia smirked.
Ian handed over the paper they took from Diego's things to him. He looked at it and smirked.
