Chapter Forty Eight

Cassie glared at him, fire surrounding her. "Today is your end, Drake!" She thundered.
A heavy wind blew, scattering everything in the library. Drake smiled, looking at how angry and furious she was. If he could keep her like this for a while, he would be able to unlock the demon in her and make her useful for the underworld.
"The book!" Aunt Maggie gasped, rushing to where the book was placed.
Cassie surrounded herself with fire as she made her way to where Drake stood.
"Aren't you scared of me? I have the powers of 2 supernaturals in me. If I combine them with mine, you're gonna be dead meat." He smirked.
Cassie said nothing but continued walking to him. All she could think of right now is getting revenge for Kash and giving him back his powers then killing the disgusting demons in the process.
"You aren't scared, right?" He smirked, pulling out his sword.
"Cassie!" Aunt Maggie yelled.
"Stay away from this, Aunt. No one should interfere." Cassie ordered.
Zaire was about to protest but Aunt Maggie stopped him.
"You heard him! He said he has the power of 2 supernaturals in him and if he combines them, Cassie would be dead meat. We can't allow her walk to her death." Zaire facepalmed.
"I understand but I am sure she knows what she is doing... I hope." Aunt Maggie sighed.
Cassie got to where Kash laid on the floor and bent down. She felt his pulse. When she had confirmed that he wasn't dead, she stood up and faced Drake. Since, he only lost his powers, she would try her best not to let her anger get the best of her.
"You wanna fight me with a sword?" She scoffed. "Get a grip!"
"Why? Are you scared of my sword?" He asked.
"Why should I? Your sword should be scared of me." She smirked.
"I'd stay back of I were you. This sword is poisonous. If it makes contact with your skin, I don't need to tell you what happens next." He smiled.
Cassie lifted her right hand and the sword disappeared from his hands. He gasped in surprise. If she could make things disappear with just a state, them what would she do to him? This was it! He was going to fight. He didn't care whether or not he needed her but he would not let her lay her fury hands on him.
Cassie threw fireballs at him but he dodged, smiling victoriously. Cassie chuckled and gestured for him to look behind him. He did, behold, the fireballs were returning to him like a boomerang. They chased him wherever he went and he brought out Kash's water powers to quench them. Smoke filled the whole room that he wasn't able to see anything. He saw the fire balls coming out of the smoke again but he couldn't escape this time as they sent him flying to the ground. He coughed and sprung up but someone grabbed his neck, lifting him off the floor.
"We need to settle this amicably, Cassie." He begged when he saw the fire in her eyes. She wasn't smiling neither was she frowning. Her face was so expressionless that he felt like she was planning something unbelievable for him.
"Return Kash's powers to him this instant, else I'm gonna roàst you to bits." She threatened in a cold voice.
"If you kill me then Kash's powers would die with me." He chuckled, thinking he had seen what he'd use to coax her.
"I have ways of killing you without hurting Diego or Kash. Remember the trident from the temple?" She asked.
Drake gasped, fear, horror, disbelief and anxiety evident in his face. How did she know if the trident? Did she bring it with her? But she was also half demon. There is no way she would be able to lay her hands on it.
Kash, who was laying on the floor, opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was Cassie, surrounded by fire and stràngling Drake with her hands.
"Kash!" Aunt Maggie ran to help him up.
When Cassie heard Aunt Maggie calling Kash's name, her grip on Drake's neck loosened a bit and clever as he was, used that opportunity to attack her. She let go of him and held her stomach that he had hit.
Kash gasped and ran to her.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"I should be the one asking you that. You shouldn't be here. Leave, it's dangerous!" He said.
"I can't leave you alone with that monster. He has your powers and I am determined to get them back!" Cassie balled her fists.
"Powers or not, I am still your guardian and won't allow you endanger yourself. Please, you have to go. I'll take care of this." Kash said calmly but Cassie wouldn't take it.
"You're my guardian doesn't mean I can't protect you too. When I asked you to be my best friend, my intention was that we would look out for one another. We are going to stop him... together." Cassie smiled at Kash.
Kash sighed. "Alright."
"Ew! That was so gross and disgusting. Too bad, it's not gonna last." Drake snapped, lunging at them.
He was about to touch Cassie but Kash held his hand and threw a punch that sent him to the floor. Drake stood up, forming a crystal ball with his hands which he threw at Kash but Cassie surrounded them with a shield. She used her telekinesis to lift Drake upp whole Kash jumped and kicked him twice.
"Ouch!" Drake yelled when Cassie dropped him to the floor with a thud.
Aunt Maggie tried to disappear to find backup but it seemed the way to the realms were locked. She didn't want to just stand and watch but she had to do what Cassie said.
Zaire on the other hand, flipped through the stack of books in the library, looking for a book that would give him an idea on how to stop what was happening but the library was already a mess and he couldn't find any.

REALM OF PURE MAGIC
The king and queen stood at the bank of the ocean, which roared in rage.
"What could have caused the fight this time? Why won't this supernaturals leave my daughter alone?" Queen Roanna snapped, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. She clutched tight to her slim fitted gown and sniffed.
King Harven placed his hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "We shouldn't be worried. Kash is there with her and I am sure that he would put her under control before you know it." He smiled sadly.
Medusa, who was meditating snapped her eyes open and looked around. The ocean looked like it would turn into blood soon. It poured it's waves on the shore and roared so loud that it could be heard from meters away.
"Your daughter isn't angry." Medusa said.
"Why say that when you're seeing that the ocean is roaring in waves?" Queen Roanna asked.
"Only the weather can tell us her emotion. Though the sun isn't shining anymore but at least, there isn't a heavy downpour accompanied with lightning and thunder." Medusa said.
"Then, explain why the ocean turned red like blood." She demanded.
"The colour of her hair, remember?" Medusa smirked.
They sighed, hoping that whatever was happening would end soon.

Diego could see what was going on wherever he was. He tried his best to force himself out of there but couldn't. He wasn't in control of his body and that thought alone suffocated him. He wanted to fight; to resist and liberate himself from the power of the demon but it wasn't working.
He fell to the floor in tears. "Mother, I failed you. I promised you that I would never allow anyone possess me again.i wanted to avenge your death so bad but now, it seems too late to accomplish that. I want to leave here! I don't wanna be a weakling anymore! U wanna fight too!" He bent his head.
"I'm ready to face my fears and finish them all. All I need is to get out of here and save Cassie and Kash." He muttered.

OREKLION
"Princess Sapphire! My princess!" Layla called, walking round the palace, looking for her.
"Haven't you found her yet?" Prince Roland asked.
"No, my prince." Layla bowed.
"Did she think she could do whatever she wants just because father is out of town? What as rebellious daughter you gave birth to, mother!" Prince Roland excaimed, looking up like his mother would see that he was referring to her.
He groaned and walked away while Layla continued the search for Sapphire.
.....
Sapphire on the other hand sat on a swing in the palace garden, enjoying the cool mid-day breeze; chirping of birds and.... Yup, the grumbling of her stomach. She was hungry but she didn't want to go into the palace else she might not be able to come out again. Ever since their father left, putting Roland in charge, she hasn't been given the freedom to do whatever she liked.
She sighed, watching the birds chirp happily. "At least you're free and happy." She smiled.
Suddenly, she felt something. She stood and looked around, gazing at the flowers then averted her gaze to the birds. Her eyes turned blue.
"I see him. He's cute but is in bondage? Who dares_" She paused and her eyes returned to normal.
She disappeared, reappearing in her room and putting on her war clothes. She let her long hair down in waves and balled her fists then disappeared.

BACK AT THE LIBRARY
With Drake combining all the power he had, it looked like he was almost impossible to beat.
Drake chuckled. "You two must really think highly of yourselves. You can't defeat me." He laughed.
"Yeah, you're right. They can't defeat you but I can." Sapphire said, blowing a bubble from the gum she was chewing.
"Sapphire?" Kash's eyes widened.
Drake scrunched up his eyebrows. "You!"
Sapphire smirked. "I believe you have someone I'm supposed to be a guardian to, so release him before things get ugly!"
