Chapter 20
Mrs Johnson
The cops already found something suspicious in the cabin so they decided to investigate it. We are not sure what it is yet but they believe it could lead us to Khloe and my son.
After everything that's happened, I will not be able to leave Khloe's mother by herself. Even with the nurses, she still needed someone she was familiar with so, I decided to stay.
A few of the cops remained with us for protection, while the others journeyed their way to the woods.
I hope Michael and Khloe are found before anything bad happens to them.
Writer's POV
The police officers arrived at the cabin in a short time. As soon as they did, they situated themselves in the positions instructed by their leader; a few took positions all around the cabin, others hidden places around the vicinity of the cabin. More than a few went into the cabin.
They took pictures of the blood stain that had long gone dry, the broken wall and door and also the big muddy foot prints on the rogue on the cabin's wooden floor.
One of the officers went as far as examining a few of the scattered objects in the cabin and he got a response that was higher than his expectations.
" Guys, y'all need to see this ASAP." Jude, the officer who was always chewing gum said.
Michael on the other hand had also visited the cabin before the cops did. He thought he was going to get clues to finding Khloe.
After his experience with Khloe's diary, he knew better than anyone that they definitely weren't dealing with the natural.
Michael took with him, a ghost detector so he could quickly identify ghosts and hide from them.
" I'm coming to get you Khloe. Hang in there for me." He muttered to himself.
Khloe
I had been in my room all day, doing nothing except weeping over my present situation. I can't believe that I never even got to finish college before being subjected to such cruelty.
The dead wolf's wife had clearly stated the root cause of her mate's death but he just wanted me never to leave.
I was still thinking of the multiple ways to escaping this captivity when I heard the unlocking of a door.
Jamal walled in with a bunch of keys. I was so lost in my thoughts the other day that I didn't even notice when the door was locked.
" The alpha demands your presence." He said, sounding out of breath.
I followed his lead but rather than taking me to the throne room or the court, he took an entirely different route. It looked like one that I had never seen before.
From the decorations, it looked like the residence of the royals only.
The entire part of the mansion was built with extravagance but this part was mostly good looking. The grand stairs we took to a very spacious hall were even bigger than the biggest couch in my house. In fact, no words could describe this place.
Jamal knocked on the door to my utmost surprise. Were werewolves supposed to knock?
" Bring her in." A lifeless voice from within commanded.
Jamal pushed open one of the giant antique doors with his big hand like it weighed nothing.
I had already walked past the entrance when I noticed that Jamal wasn't with me.
" Where...?" I'm couldn't even make a complete statement.
I looked behind me to find Jamal still at the entrance with his head bowed.
" Leave us." Someone instructed coldly.
Jamal bowed before he left but not without shutting the giant door.
Afraid to look at what was before me, I only shut my eyes with my heads bowed.
" Look up." I heard the alpha speak.
The chill I felt crawl up my spine at the ministration of his voice were compelling enough to make me look up but strangely, I didn't.
" It seems like you have to be chained to be obedient to your master. What do you think slave?" He asked, taking me by my neck by surprise.
He lifted me above ground level and in no time, I was choking to death.
" How many times would you have me warn you of the consequences of disobeying me. Huhn?" He asked, tilting his wickedly handsome face.
" I'm ...sorry ...alpha" I stammered as I tried to apologise while gasping for breath.
" Maybe I should just snap your neck right now so that I would know I have no slave rather than having a deaf one who is useless at making conversations. Don't you think?" He tapped his perfectly chiseled jaw as if he was really thinking of the decision he already made.
" You know what? I think you could still be useful. I'd let you live. Not for long though." He warned, wearing a devilish smirk.
He threw me to the floor like I was nothing but a piece of garbage. I ignored the pains my body was still suffering from to regain my breath.
" We would be having a hunt today. Me personally actually but I need someone to carry the meat. You should be good enough." He said walking toward what seemed like a bathroom.
" I have decided to put this on for the hunt but it's dirty. So, I want you to wash and dry the dress actually before the hunt begins.." He said, exiting the room.
" Uhm where can I?" I could not complete my question before he left the room.
Before setting down to find a place to dryclean the giant robe that he had commanded me to wash, I decided to take a few important features of the room to mind.
The high walls of the room supported the weight of the ceiling from which a Chandelier stood on, the antique looking brass candelabras hanging on the walls between the windows holding seven candles each.
The large sized, King bed made me so sleepy that I was tempted to jump on the bed. As a matter of fact, this size of the head of the bed was as big as my whole bed.
There were other interesting parts of the room but to avoid getting distracted, I swiftly went ahead with the chore I had been given.Download Novelah App
