Chapter 12 Re-Expedition Together

“Wrong measurement? Aren't you guys deliberately deceiving them?”
The one who dared to speak like that openly was none other than Jeremy Rainbownose. He was the leader of this generation's Maung Bodas Guild. His stout and tall stature, he looked like a giant. Moreover, his rough temper and always looks full of anger is a scourge that is greatly feared by most people.
He was indeed a leader of a guild, but he didn't seem to have the attitude of a leader like he should. You could say, he is a crime expert who was not identified by investigators because he has a thick mask from the union he leads. Meanwhile, a union that has the same vision and mission as others should be a shield for society. However, he violated the traffic that had been created and abused his power.
His mask was too thick to cover all his crimes.
"Sorry. I as the investigator commander will not remain silent after hearing you say that. You all know that only a single person can sense the chaotic energy contained within the Monster Gate accurately without the need for this measuring device. Meanwhile, we don't have that ability. As for the data regarding the measurement history, it's still in my assistant's records…” Commander Dadan replied to Jeremy's condescending remark calmly. Everything he said made sense. People have known that too.
“Hahaha... Just like an idiot, huh? How could anyone trust mere records? Meanwhile, the tragedy of the massacre that had just happened was a fact and people knew it clearly too! You're not going to reaffirm that the notes on your assistant are correct, are you?" Jeremy smiled broadly after saying that. However, he knit his brows at the calmness displayed by Commander Dadan which made him sick. Although he didn't expect much to be able to corner him with just words, at least it could reduce the image of the name of a Dadan in the eyes of people.
“Hm… It seems, we missed one thing. I had made it clear that the difficulty level of this Monster Gate was B, whereas the previous two hunting teams had only tried to investigate the monsters and map the territory within, but it all ended in misery. Although, fortunately there were no casualties among them. Then, do we know why they are hurt and sad when they come out? They didn't mention it!" This time, Dadan's explanation was acceptable to everyone for a while. It's true, the two teams didn't tell him in detail about the cause of their injuries. To be sure, they seemed confused to explain it.
The first two teams that entered earlier were hunters who specialized in reconnaissance. Of course, their prowess on the run should not be underestimated. That's the reason, why they are still safe. Compared to the Star Eyes Team which was already quite famous as an independent hunting team.
“You mean we should reinvestigate?” asked Jeremy to confirm. He didn't expect to be able to corner the man named Dadan with just words. People knew perfectly well his calm demeanor and his thoroughness in observing the situation.
"Yeah. For that, we need even more power. Incidentally, the core team of the Maung Bodas Guild are top-ranked hunters, right?” asked Commander Dadan with a smile.
"Are you kidding!?" Jeremy just realized that he was the one who was trapped in a dangerous situation. The veins on his forehead tightened. He knew, it was difficult to avoid a situation like this. Moreover, many people also witnessed, including people who were special or proficient in wrestling in the mass media. However, he is not willing to sacrifice the core team to investigate something that is still gray.
"Don't you want to help us?" asked Commander Dadan again, ignoring Jeremy's increasingly gloomy expression.
Some time ago, news of the tragedy that befell the Star Eyes Team spread quickly throughout Pearl City. This attracted quite a lot of attention, as such occurrences were quite rare. Normally, the Hunter's Guild had always acted with extreme caution and strictness in its handling of the Monster Gate.
Actually, the leader of the Star Eyes Team had miscalculated. He himself had forced his way in and underestimated this Monster Gate after hearing that the monsters that had attacked the two scouting teams earlier were wolves, though at the time it was still a rough estimate. However, no one knows that fact other than the investigators themselves. Because, even though it was said to the public, no one would believe it after this tragedy happened. People would definitely think, the Hunter's Union was actually trying to avoid this situation so as not to lose the respect of everyone.
Then Jeremy, as the leader of the Maung Bodas Guild, was also interested in this case. He was about to take advantage of the weakness of the Hunter's Guild to use their strengths as auxiliaries in the subjugation of the Monster Gate.
But now his fate is reversed.
Forced, Jeremy must act as if they will be the deciding factor in the mission's success. With the strength that the guild had, it was certain that they would become everyone's hanger. However, no one knows something that people would not predict.
"Are you guys ready?" Jeremy shouted to the core team members loudly and attracted a lot of attention.
"YEAH!" they answered.
“Good...” Jeremy smiled for a moment before he continued, lowering his volume “Remember our plan!”
All the members of the core team nodded slowly and smiled evilly. No one knows of their plans and no one notices their strange behavior. But, all of that will not escape from Nathan. He could sense from the start the ominous aura of the bad guys, one of which was all the members of the core team which of course included Jeremy himself. Observing their behavior from time to time certainly made Nathan more transparent about their evil plans.
Incidentally, it was night and that was one of the reasons why the investigators didn't notice.
Actually, Commander Dadan and Nisa had been feeling mentally exhausted from handling this Monster Gate for two days without stopping. They wanted to rest. However, there is no suitable substitute for other investigators who can carry out this task. Both of them were worried that everything would go wrong, if it was done recklessly.
"Nathan, let's go home..." said Alina who also looked tired all day selling non-stop here, because of her best-selling snack merchandise. Luckily, she had been on guard to carry a lot of cargo from his house.
"Okay. Miss Alina just sit down, let me take care of everything…” Nathan said after seeing Alina's slightly pale face.
"Eh? I can't do that, I'm still strong. Hoam...”
"Miss Alina’s body is honest. Haha...” Nathan rubbed Alina's head gently and led her to sit on the chair at the back.
Alina actually didn't like letting Nathan clean up her used merchandise. However, she also felt very tired and her eyelids had also felt heavy. She yawned again and finally couldn't keep his eyelids open. She slept on a chair leaning back.
It didn't take Nathan long to sort things out. When he turned to Alina who was sleeping sitting up, he smiled gently seeing that round face that looked cute when her eyes were closed.
[My Dimension Warehouse]
All the things that had been tidied up disappeared in an instant. It didn't catch people's attention, because it was a common occurrence. However, they didn't know that Nathan wasn't using the storage ring as they had expected. Then, he took Alina on his lap and carried her away after putting in the remaining things.
"I'd better hurry. I feel worried for them…”
