Married

"I think I'm gonna pee on myself."
They said new year, a new beginning. They were speaking to me. Mine was that I was getting married on the 15th of January.
Irene scolded, "Don't even dare ruin this." She was doing my makeup, Becca made my wedding dress and it's fucking the most beautiful dress I've ever seen.
"Nora, there's nothing to be nervous about. You're about to walk down the aisle with the hottest richest man in the world."
Irene held my cheek and looked into my eyes, "You'll do great. You've always done things well."
"But I'm nervous, it's like feeling a knot in my heart," I answered.
"I know what will help. I'm coming." Becca said and walked out of the room.
I turned back to Irene.
"You're getting married to a man who loves you, Nora. A man who wants the best for you and would never hurt you, a man who knows your worth, come on, I would faint if I got this lucky."
A wide grin met my lips, I hugged her right there, she's a comforter.
"Nora. I got you anxiety pills." Becca said from the door.
"I don't need it anymore."
"That's my girl, now let me go, you'll ruin my handwork." Irene mumbled and I laughed briefly as she finished some lines on my face.
I looked good as fuck, my face was contoured to perfection, my lips were painted red, my lashes were thick and coated with mascara, my wings were black, with sliver sparkles, and glittering eye shadows hooded my lid. Lastly, my hair was curled up slightly at the ends, and the diamond pins glittered under the light of the room.
I looked down at my french tips nails, my diamond engagement ring was on my third finger while the pinky ring was on my little finger. The ring that made everyone fear me because of Zavi Coville.
I am Mrs Covillie now, I am gonna be soon.
"Okay, darling. It's my turn to shine. I made this, particularly for you." She said, not knowing I sneaked a peak of it yesterday night. The dress was very beautiful, I wondered how it was gonna look in daylight.
She slid the purple curtain and I gasped. It was perfect, standing in front of me. It was on the mannequin. It was long and sleeveless with ivory flowers sewn at the bottom. It was the most beautiful dress I've ever seen.
I slid into the gown while they helped it fit in tight around my body.
"You're so pretty, Nora," Irene said, her eyes watering. "I still can't believe you're getting married, sweety." She kissed my cheek.
"You're the best, Irene. You don't look bad either."
I pointed at the black dress she was putting on. Becca wasn't looking bad either. They all looked great on my wedding day.
"Are you ready to hit the church?."
***
Monreale Cathedral Sicily.
Zavi's pov.
Who thought I would be here? No one.
The world is a weird place. A few months ago, I was out of Sicily, with no direction to take, it was just me against the world.
I thought when Anita died, she took my life with her, but I didn't know that an angel was gonna visit me soon. That I was gonna experience this joy in my heart.
"Hey, dude. You're getting married, get your shit together." Alec said behind me.
"I can't imagine myself in a wedding suit, man."
He shrugged, "It's real because you proposed to her first, if you hadn't, I would have."
Brat!.
"You're gonna be dead by the time you finish the proposal." I playfully glared at him and looked towards the entrance of the church.
"Fuck. She's here. I'm gonna walk her down here, you good?." He asked, trying to light up a joint.
I grabbed it away from him and threw it on the floor, "Do without a smoke today, it's my wedding day."
He rolled his eyes and walked away.
***
Nora's pov.
"Hey, uh. I'm gonna say something before you go on in there. You remember the day you asked me if I found someone who could help me forget Anita," Alec said as he stood in front of me.
"Yeah, is it important right now?." I asked back.
"Yeah, it is. Because it was you."
I gasped.
"I just want you to know how important you are to both me and Zavi. You're an inspiration to us, you made us human and we were able to love again, you remain the best friend I never thought I would have. Thanks for coming into our lives."
My eyes watered, but I didn't let it ruin my makeup or Irene will make a scene.
"You're my annoying best friend too, Alec," I told him quietly.
"Then, let your best friend walk you to your husband-to-be."
He opened his arm for me to take.
I gripped his arm tightly, fearing that I was gonna fall with my long heels.
"By the way, you look beautiful, bride." He chuckled and muttered.
I flushed, "Thank you, dear."
The moment I went in, I looked around. The seats were filled with some familiar faces and some unfamiliar faces. I even saw Alice with her brother, clapping with the others as they cheered me on.
I heard people gasp with delight as I walked past them, my hand tightened around Alec's arm as I walked through the velvet carpet.
Alec and I stopped walking and I slowly looked up to my prince.
He looked absolutely beautiful, my mobster boyfriend becoming my boyfriend soon.
He wore a crisp black tuxedo, his icy eyes glistened under the light, his tattooed hands crossed together, and his pink lips curved in a broad smile as he gazed at me. A look that was passionate and lovely.
Alec held down my hand and passed it to my prince's open one. Zavi's warmed hand calmed me down as I stood beside him.
The priest cleared his throat, getting us all to look at him.
"We're gathered here to witness the lovely matrimony between Ms. Vanora Campbell and Mr. Zavi Covillie." The priest began as I turned to my prince
"Do you, Zavi Coville, take Vanora Campbell to have, and to hold, in sickness and health, till death do you part?."
He looked into my eyes. "Yes, I do."
"Do you, Vanora…"
"Yes, I do," I replied to him as I impatiently stood there.
The priest cleared his throat, "It's time for vows."
"I, Zavi Coville, take you, Vanora Campbell, to be my partner, loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know. I eagerly anticipate the chance to grow together, get to know the person you will become, and fall in love a little more each day. I promise to love and cherish you through whatever life may bring us." Tears streamed from my eyes as he said those words.
"I, Vanora Campbell, choose you Zavi Coville to be my husband, to respect you in your successes and in your failures, to care for you in sickness and in health, to nurture you, and to grow with you throughout the seasons of life."
Everyone clapped for us.
"I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Zavi stepped forward slowly, his icy eyes looking into mine, he wiped away my tears with his right hand and kissed me.
I heard cheers and yells as Zavi's lips formed around mine, his strong arms dipped me low and I wrapped my hands around his neck.
He set me back on my feet, twirling his fingers around my face.
"I love you, Nora." He said deeply.
"I love you too, Zavi."
I finally realized no matter the struggle, what was meant to be will be, I once loathed him, I once tried to kill him, I once tried to run away, hell I wanted badly to get away from him a few months ago, and here I am, getting married to this man.
I loved him, and always I will love him. We were meant to be, so be it.
