Hot night.
The sun was westering by the time they got to Newland . Mera couldn't care less about the beautiful orangey golden view that the people in the car was talking about . None of that matters right now .
All that matters to her is getting to the mansion safe and sound . She was only pretending to be fine when she was screaming internally, too scared to even recollect the memories of that day . That day , a day when she had gone from being happy to scared and terrified . Truth to be told , the moment when Emily had said something about hiking , she had been elated but only pretended not to be
After all it wasn't everyday that one gets to hike on a mountain with the Gerald's . Little did she know that her happiness would be short lived , that chaos and it's family was going to be residing with them for a day or two . That was when she knew that there was something called survival instinct .
It was getting dark by the time they finally got the mansion . Their driver which Micheal has requested for before their arrival . And talking about car , that particular car is nothing like she ever saw . It was black , a color she was getting used to seeing in their cars . It was a Ferrari or was it ? She wasn't sure but all she knew is that that car is not from this world. Couldn't be from the world .
The thought distracted her from her pounding heart and she was able to focus on something else other than the blood filled face of Emily . It was a gruesome sight to see .
Alicia welcomed them home with wide smile , has she ever stop smiling? Mera wondered to herself but she smiles back none the less . Her smile was infectious .
Alicia's smile waned when she saw Emily's condition . Though much better that the day of the incident , she was far from being the crazy and crack head Emily . She couldn't even smile back at Alicia . She simply nodded and rested her back on the car door .
Micheal and his brothers hugged their mother and she ushered them in like a mother hen that was offering shelter for her children .
Different meal were served on the table and Alicia insisted that they all have dinner before retiring to their room . Her smile refuse to falter even when Micheal suggested calmly that they are jet lagged and would probably love a warm bath first .
With that (God only knows when she'll stop ) smile , she firmly told them that they must eat something, anything at all only then we're they allowed to go inside their room . Her eyes crinkled, and she raised her face a tad bit and her grip on the spoon tightened and she dared any of them to go against her order .
And so , they all gathered to the table to eat a compulsory meal that had been prepared with so much carefulness and effort or so did Alicia claim .
Mera managed to eat a few spoonful of the brown rice and salad but lost her appetite soon after wards after she managed a few glares at Alicia unnoticed . She would love nothing more than a hot shower and a warm cozy bed and a night aware from the nightmare .
"I would like to go in now if your ladyship pleases . " She stood up and spoke politely albeit stiffly .
Alicia looked suprised , no not only Alicia , Gabriel spouted out the water from his mouth making him look like a silly anime character .
Before anybody could say anything , she pushed her chair back and bowed so deep her face is just a breath away from the mushroom soup that laid on the table in a silverware.
She walked out of the room feeling all eyes on her back , she quickened her pace and was almost sprinting to the room . She opened the door to their room and entered .
The dim light that was on in the room , is just like they left it . The bed was still made without anything disrupting it silky wave . She loved the new fur that was bought by Gabriel just before they left . She would be sure to lay it on the bed later
. The chair leg was tucked under the table and nothing changed in the way the curtain was parted a certain way to enable her to see the night or morning view .
She sighed and flunged herself on the bed and the soft material received her without thinking twice .
Then one by one she got rid of her clothes and walked to the bathroom . She stood under the hot shower , the steam seeping into her skin pores .
She grabbed shampoo and conditioner and did her business before getting out of the bathroom with towel wrapped around her hair and her body .
She wore a bathrobe discarding the towel and sat down in front of the mirror to dry her hair . She heard the creaking sound of the door opened but she made no move from where she sat . There was no need for her to turn her head when she already knew who entered .
He came to stand behind her , he stood for a minute before dropping a gentle kiss on her opened nape . She shivered when his cold lips met her skin .
"Something's up ?? " He spoke in a low husky voice that made her spine tingle and her toes curl . She could just forget everything and get lost in his deep baritone voice .
He reached for the dryer silently offering to help her and she gave him the dryer without saying anything .
"You didn't answer my question ? " He said again when messaging her scalp and hair gently with the hot air .
"No... Nothing's up . " She managed a smile at him but watched his reaction from the mirror and a frown was marring his forehead . He clearly didn't believe her flimsy excuse .
"I saw the way your eyes were unfocused throughout the meal , the way your fingers were clutching your dress tightly and the suspicious look on your face every passing second . What's the matter ?? I need you to be honest babe . " He stared at her from the mirror and she was tongue tied . How could she tell him that she was only being paranoid because of what happened to them in the forest ??
He dropped the dryer gently on the table , her hair was dried and tangle . He picked up a hair brush and resume to brush out her curls . She could see it in his eyes .
Worried , eager and most of all scared and concern . She thought she was seeing some bits of uncertainty in them too .
"Gab , ...I..I'm scared . The ...Emily .. bb. " She couldn't even form a comprehensible sentence . Her fingers were trembling badly and her eyes were watery .
She didn't know she was crying until she felt his large palm wiping her tears silently without saying anything . He was now facing her , the hair brush laid on the table and her hair was brush and free of any tangle .
He cooped her in his embrace , consoling her without saying anything . Just his warm embrace was enough to assure her of her safety . To assure her that everything is going to be okay , no , that everything was okay .
He held her small face that fitted perfectly in his large hands gently commanding her softly to look up at him .
"Everything is fine now . You're fine . Emily's fine . Everyone is fine . I'm here okay? " He stared into her eyes ,into her soul trying to convey his sincerity in them .
She knew not , what came over her , possessed her but she could feel it . Her heart was flowing with much love for this man . This man who she couldn't have never , not even in her wildest dreams believe that he was capable of this things but he has proved her wrong .
She felt herself moving and staring at his full supple lips , she placed her lips upon his , catching him by suprise . Not knowing what to do again she turned still .
His initial shock was passed and he returned her kiss . This time not the mild placing of lips on each other but a blunt lips ride if there's anything like that .
He pried open her lips and sneakily let his tongue in , his coarse tongue was exploring her mouth , leaving no stone unturned . His kissed her vigorously , until she was out of breath , until her lips were puffy and all air were knocked out of her lung .
He stopped abruptly , placing his forehead on her breathing heavily .
"I might do more than kissing tonight my love . If you'll let me . " He spoke huskily . His voice seems to be getting more husky by the passing minute .
He stared intently at her , hot , wild fire burning in his eyes . Her thigh clenched involuntary as his hot gaze roamed around her exposed cleavage around her neck .
