The Global Peace Ambassador 20

The Next Day
Denise took his family home, and worked from the house. He was aware that the bombs had exploded and everything burnt to ashes. His concern and fear was if there were any casualties, which he tried to avoid. He targeted when the office would have been free. To him, at 6 PM, the workers would have been off work, and there won't be any casualties. He was delighted when he learned that everyone was off work and concluded that no one was affected.
“It is good that no life was lost, and no one was injured. How would they have been treated if there were any casualties, since he had killed all the doctors and health workers?” He asked himself.
At the Clinic
Despite returning to his house late the previous day, Dr. Harper had reported to work at the usual time, and walked to Kenny's ward.
“Good morning, doctor,” he greeted happily.
“Good morning, young man. How are you today?”
“I'm fine. Thank you, doctor.”
The doctor observed him for some time, and was happy that his voice was not as weak as it was the previous day.
“It is all right. You will have your breakfast soon and prepare for your medications.”
“I got it, doctor,” he responded and, still, gave the doctor an inquiry look, which the doctor did not understand. Soon the attendant served him his breakfast, which seemed like a king's meal. Apart from the war, he could not remember eating such a meal.
“Thank you, ma'am,” he appreciated after eating, and the attendant cleared the table. Although, he was being taken care of, but he would not be settled if he had not seen his friend. Aside from that, now that he had discovered that he was chatting with a Young Chief Executive Officer, who was connected to the Head of State, he was careful to chat him up. Nevertheless, when the doctor walked in with the nurse to administer Kenny's medication, his phone rang. He looked at the caller, and smiled before he picked, and greeted, “Good morning, Mr. Bailey. How may I help you?”
“Good morning, doctor. Are you in the clinic?”
“Yes. I am.”
“Wow! That is a good one.”
“Thank you.”
“How is my friend. I hope he is responding to treatment?”
“Yes. There is an improvement.”
“I love that. Whenever you are close to him, kindly let me speak with him.”
“I'm in his ward. You can speak with him.”
“Okay. Thank you.”
The doctor handed the phone over to Kenny, and he was thrilled to hear Denise's voice.
“Good morning, Sir,” he greeted with delight. Denise was glad to hear from him too, and he greeted, “Good morning, my friend. I am pleased to hear from you. How are you today?”
“I am fine, Sir. Thank you for being my friend. I owe you everything,” he appreciated with an emotional voice. Then, Denise teased, “I got it. If I may ask, are you still waiting for death?”
At that point, Kenny was shy, and he looked at the doctor and the nurse, who were waiting for him to be off the call before she commenced her treatment, and they seemed to be interested in his response.
“No sir,” he responded shyly. The doctor and the nurse smiled. Then, Denise continued, “You will not die until I give you a hug. Did you get me?”
“I got you, Sir.”
“It's all right. See you later.”
“See you later, Sir.”
Kenny handed the phone back to Dr. Harper, and he concluded his call with Denise.
At Denise's House
His presence brightened the house, and he was aware of it. He could not ask for anything more from life apart from a happy home. Now, he observed that Tim was busy with something that had occupied his day. Then, he queried, “What are you doing, Tim?”
“I'm writing a song. Mom gave me the assignment.”
“I see. What kind of song?”
“She asked me to write about the war in Zingcord while preparing for the upcoming event.”
“Perfect. Also write on their reconciliation, peace, and unity.”
“Yes, uncle. I concentrated more on the three.”
“That is a good idea. Are you through?”
“Yes.”
“Can you sing for us so that we can critique the song, if there is any need for that?”
“All right, uncle,” he accepted, and began.
“It is an abridged Rotary Song.” Tim informed.
“No problem. Go on.”

“Wow. This is brilliant,” Olivia, who joined them when she heard him singing, commended.
“Keep it up, my dear,” Denise commended too, and looked into his eyes. He smiled broadly, and accepted, “Thank you, Big cousins.”
Then, Denise gave him a reassuring smile, and reminded, “Remember that you are born to win.”
“I remembered. I won't let you down,” he promised. Thereafter, he gave Jude a call, and instructed him to publicize the incoming event without fear or restrictions.
At the Tourist Center
Mr. Abel woke up that morning, with mixed feelings. He was glad that the storage houses and the government houses were bombed, but he prayed that no harm should come to Dr. Parker, and his cohorts until the law prevailed on them.
“He had not followed up on his report,” he pointed out, after he waited for his incessant inquiries about his report.
However, his joy did not last long. Suddenly, he saw a post about Zingcord which stated that someone was rushed to the hospital from the government house during the inferno, and he was distraught. He stared at the wall for a few minutes, and hissed.
“It may be a guard,” he encouraged himself. However, he expected Dr. Parker's report on the explosion, but he got none, and his worries increased.
“It is quite unlike him. He would have reported at once, and claimed that the rebels attacked,” he mumbled, and continued with his parking. He was to leave for his base that afternoon. After thirty minutes of expecting his report, he was troubled.
“What is going on. Does he not want to make claims anymore?" At that point, he was bursting with curiosity, and just could not contain himself. Therefore, he gave him a call, to his disturbance, the call did not go through. At that point, he wrinkled his face, and stared at the wall. After a while, he called the number again, and got the same response – it was switched off.
