CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
Disagreement
The squad and the rest of the beings all left to do as they have been told.
Princess Bellina in her locked up corner cannot wait to come out at that moment. She was the most excited of all.
She patiently waited for them to get back from the investigation. It seemed that their return was taking ages at a point as she was losing her patience.
The Empress on the other hand was happy that finally, her daughter will unlock herself and then again, her daughter will be happy once more.
On a second thought, she had a change of mind towards rewarding Gilmore and the sister just like she promised to do to anyone who will find the missing half humans alive.
She never liked those two.
She began to nurse a bad plan in her mind just so that those two would be punished instead of being rewarded.
She readjusted herself severally on where she was sitting yet she wasn't still comfortable.
She then began to move to and fro the throne with so much evil thoughts going on in her mind.
This continued for a while but not until the squad arrived at the throne.
The second group came along with Mira but the first group left Gilmore's body behind as they saw that he had long died and cannot be resuscitated to life again. He was just good for making out worms.
"Long live, her majesty!!!" All hailed in unison, in respect to the Empress as they swam into the throne.
At this point, there was absolute silence but joy was all over the waters.
Princess Bellina was also excited in her locked up corner. At that point, she was very ready to unlock herself but she needed to be beckoned on and told that "The missing Mira has been found and that she was back to the throne," just like she told her mother when she locked herself up.
Though the empress was shocked at their arrival with Mira because she didn't believe the news at first but she managed to compport herself even as confusion was written all over her face.
The silence lingered for a while before one of the members of the squad broke it.
"We found Liamb's dead body at the right corner of the farm, actually; just like Sibraa told us….." as he was still talking, the empress interrupted after she glanced at the princess's position and she was not there.
It dawned on her that it was the right time she was supposed to be at her supposed position since her request had been granted.
"My daughter should be here," she said, pointing towards her daughter's chamber.
Without wasting time, she went straight towards her daughter's chamber and beckoned her to come out.
"My dearest darling," she called sweetly. She waited to see if she could hear something but she didn't get any response.
Her voice came calmly the second time and Princess Bellina, at that point, decided to answer.
"Yes, mother!" She answered and hurriedly drew closer to the entrance and ready to jump out of her chamber since she already knew the reason for her mother's call.
"My dearest darling," Empress Lulu continued.
"Your wish has been granted unto you. Come forth to a world out of your chamber," she added, smiling.
Princess Bellina jumped out of her chamber excitedly and embraced her mother so tight. They went forward to the throne immediately.
Right straight to her position, she went, likewise the Empress.
Everyone of them were lost gazing at the Princess Bellina and her mother.
The Empress glanced at them once again after she had assumed her position and then told one of the squad members who was previously narrating the story to continue.
"Just like Gilmore told us, he had long died but we were able to investigate his dead body and we found out that there was a puncture on the left side of his head. We discovered that he must have probably tried to swim out of Crums to the Surface but unfortunately, the heartless humans out there shot his head and he lost himself. Such a pity," he said and concluded.
Everywhere became so quiet for a while after the narration.
No one said a word.
Mira who was still shivering in fear was pained the more as she recalled the incident that took place that day at the surface. She had thought that Liamb escaped those fishermen but not until that moment. Slowly, tears broke out of her weak eyes.
"My dear Sibraa," the Empress called camly, breaking the silence that enveloped them.
"I guess he paid the price of disobedience and there's nothing that we could do about that. Do take heart my dear," she said and paused while browsing everywhere with her eyes after which she asked the second group to say something.
"We found Mira curled up at the darkest side of the prison when we opened the prison," one of the squad members leading the second group stated.
At this point, Mira was so scared of the next thing that was going to happen to her but she could not help her fears.
"What amazed us the most was the very dark corner she was in. Nobody could imagine her being there and I guess that's why nobody searched that area at the time we went looking out for her in the prison during the time you requested we bring her out," he paused and heaved a sigh of relief and then continued.
"I…think that's about that," he added and concluded.
At this point, Mira couldn't stand the test of time anymore. She broke into deeper tears.
Gilmore and Bella watched without knowing what to do though scared, too.
The Empress, not knowing what to say at this point, requested that Sibraa should go and inform everyone in the community to gather at the sound of the trumpet.
Without wasting time, Sibraa went and did as he was told.
Within a while, all had gathered curiously in the throne in honor of her majesty's call, to know who found the missing half humans and the very reward that the empress had for the person. Ma'am Eva was no left out, too. She went with hope that her missing granddaughter was among them.
The Empress cleared her throat and addressed them shortly before asking Sibraa, Gilmore and her sister, and the squad to narrate their stories one after another to their ears.
When they were done narrating their own sides of their stories, there was silence everywhere as everyone waited patiently to see how the two would be rewarded.
Minutes later, the empress spoke out saying, "You all should go back to your chambers while Gilmore and Bella should be taken to the field and punished severely for breaking into the prison to steal Mira out."
Bella was so happy hearing this.
Mira's heart began to beat so fast at the hearing of such wicked command.
Gilmore and his sister were drowned in deep fear of death knowing the fact that the empress never liked them but not until the crowd reacted in a like manner.
A total disagreement broke out among them when the empress said this.
"This is inappropriate!" A voice from the crowd echoed. But the young ones had narrated that they went through the prison top with their light in search of Mira when you declared a general search and luckily for them, it happened that they found her hidden in the darkest corner of the prison where no one would think of with the help of their light." The voice stopped and then came up again.
Though everyone was turning their heads in search of the voice, it was so strange how no one was able to catch the voice speaking to them but because the voice was actually saying the truth, they weren't against it.
"Fellow like minds, are we all going to concur to this sort of wickedness?" The voice asked in anger.
"Noooooo!" Chorused everyone aggressively.
"Then, we should do something about it!" The voice concluded and went silent.
A great distortion took over the whole place and they began to cast thorns at the empress and the princess in disagreement with her wicked order.
The securities, the squad and even Sibraa were not able to help the matter at hand and when the empress had seen that the crowd was seriously angry and were ready to kill, she accepted to reward the young ones just so that she and her daughter wouldn't be killed.
She immediately agreed to give them one of the royal chambers at the outskirts of the royalty's district and made Gilmore the leader of the security group.
The crowd then left fulfilled at this point.
Ma'am Eva, though, left disappointedly.
Gilmore and Bella were so excited for winning the first round of the battle. Mira was not left out, too. She was so happy for not dragging them into seeing their end at last but what still marveled each of them was where the voice came from to rescue their weak ass.Download Novelah App
