The sun has finally gone to sleep and night is not far from mother's earth. Mr. Anthony's office seems so cool and calm as a result of the AC that engulfed the whole apartment but it seems it's never make any good effect on Ngozi condition. Dr. Anthony had urged her and her children to come into his office so that he could keep them a company since she had refused to stop crying and Dr. Anthony advised her to come around to ask her about what insinuated her eyes that filled up with tears. "Dr. This is just too much to bear. I can't stand it. It's just as if God had turned deaf ears to all that is happening around me" Ngozi tried to wipe off the tears that cascaded her eyes. "No. Don't say that again. God never turns deaf ears to anyone predicament. I believe this too shall pass. There is always a light at the end of a tunnel. You are just a stone throw to it" Dr. Anthony gave her some pieces of advise. "Doctor, I am not sure you understand what I'm saying. My sister in law told me that my mother inlaw and her uncle have sold almost all the properties that belongs to me and my family. And that's not even the problem. The problem now is how to find Gloria and Chioma. A lots of terrible things are just happening. Or is my sins the worst? Have I done something wrong and never knew about it?" She blurted "Stop saying negative things to yourself. God is aware of everything and He will surely make a way out Trust me" Dr. Anthony mentioned "You are just telling me to calm down. How do I pay my hospital bills? How do I move from here? How...." Dr. Anthony hushed her before she could press further "Never bother about that. What are friends for? Benard friends are my friends too. More so, you need a helping hand this time around. I have to contribute my token too" Dr. Anthony said, smiling at least to soothe Ngozi's heart if that alone could give her joy. "Thank you so much. May God rewards you bountifully" Ngozi declared appearing satisfactorily for the first time in a long time. Dr. Anthony was so much pleased with this development. "It's my pleasure. I am ready to help you more so far is at my disposal" His phone rang in the long run. It was Benard's call. He quickly picked it up and was so much in a hurry to know if Gloria and Chioma have been found and in a good state too. Ngozi adjusted to seat right and listen to Dr. Anthony's feedback from Benard. "This is Benard calling. Please, calm down, and let's hear from him. Hello. Benard, how are you doing? How is everything? You said! You don't mean it? No. I can believe this. Oh my gosh!" He dropped the call in disappointment. "What happened Doctor? What did he say? Is everything ok with him and the rest of them?" Ngozi watched Dr. Anthony's face with keen interest. His countenance made her understand that all was not well. But she needed to know what exactly at least. "Say, something doctor. What exactly is the problem? Ngozi asked again. "Benard has been arrested" Doctor released his words and it hit Ngozi hard on the chest. "What do you mean, doctor? Someone that's gone to report a case of two missing women was arrested again? What for? I think there's a miss conception somewhere. But why would the police get him arrested?" Ngozi query. "His wife and father-in-law got him arrested. He said he had been locked in the police cell and they have only given him he's the phone to pass some calls through and will have to return it to them in a short period" Dr. Anthony pressed further. "Oh my God! Why do I have to use my predicament to harm some innocent people around me? This is just too much to bear. What do we do now?" Ngozi's eyes swelled with so many tears and were about to gosh out in no time. "There must be a way out. Just calm down. You just have to be strong for yourself and the children. Please, your condition as a woman who just gave birth needs to be happy at the moment. Things will surely fall back into place, believe me" Dr. Anthony assured her. He glanced through the wall clock only to discover that it was six o clock already. He stood up abruptly "I need to go and check Benard at the police station. Please, take care of the children" Dr. Anthony urged. "Please, let me go with you" Ngozi pleaded but Dr. Anthony insisted that she should stay back but she refused and almost broke into tears again. Dr. Anthony couldn't afford to see her in so much pain again. He thought since if that's the only thing that can make her happy, then he's ready to give it in. He had promised to do anything at his disposal to make her a happy woman again. "Okay. Since you insist. Let's go. He demanded. Ngozi carefully pushed Anita afront and wrap her baby tight at her back. They both prepared to go to and see Benard in police custody. A nurse quickly ran to meet Dr. Benard. "Excuse me, sir. There's an emergency you need to attend to. A woman has been having prolonged labor for ten days and has yet to give birth. She needs to be attended to sir. She's experiencing so much pain and can't bear it anymore" The nurse buttress "I think Cs is the best solution now. Her husband can't implicate the issue. He had left her here for days without being attended to. I can't afford to watch her go through so much pain anymore. He sighed heavily. Here is a complicated issue that needs his attention and the Ngozi matter needed to be tackled too. He needs to think carefully about what next to do. This is a woman that is in-between life and death. If care is not taken, the pregnant woman can give up the ghost and this might lead to another problem. The government will never blame the runner-away husband for the doctor's nonchalant attitude. They will lock him up and even close down the hospital. "Ma'am, please, you have to bear with me. As you can see, I need to attend to the woman in question. I will get back to you very soon. Please, pardon me" Dr. Anthony said while he excused himself and follow the nurse to the ward where the pregnant woman has been groaning in excruciating pain. Ngozi was left alone with her fate again. Anita was there with her looking so moody. "Mom, why did they arrest Mr. Benard? What offense has he committed? Anita queried her mother. "That's what I am yet to know. I am confused. This is just beyond me" She forced back the tears in her eyes back to her source. She needs to stay strong as rightly said by Dr. Anthony. But at the same time, the issue is getting more complicated than she had expected. Darkness is covering the day already. Still, Dr. Anthony is yet to show up. He had been in the ward theater attending to the woman with prolonged labor. She prayed for a successful operation so that they could proceed to the police station and see Benard.
