finishesGloria and Chioma were tied with a rope and forced to sit on the floor. The man with the frail health who they saw not long ago had given up the ghost and his body had been taken to only God knows where. Probably, one of their customers who demands for dead bodies had requested for it for ritual purposes. Now, Gloria and Chioma's hearts pumped louder for fear of what might befall on them anytime soon Previously, they had gone to check on Barrister Rebecca to get the necessary documents which Alhaji had wanted but Barrister Rebecca was no where to be found. The only chance of Gloria and Chioma's lives being spared was if Barrister Rebecca was found and the deal, successful. Alhaji had to stay behind with the restroomkidnappers since they were yet to see the barrister. The underground building was an ideal haven from the scrutiny of the police. He was well aware of the gravity of his atrocities and the punishment that awaited him if justice eventually prevailed. According to Red snake, the Barrister's house was security tight. Having disguised as Nepa officials who had come to check on her electric meter, they discovered that Barrister Rebecca had been away from town for an official purpose. They gained access to her apartment using forged keys but were unable to see the documents they sought despite ransacking everywhere. "Wetin we go do now? if we no see this woman,my life don finish be that o" Alhaji lamented. He was already stricken with fear. "Alhaji calm down. I have told you earlier that we are going to get to the root of this matter. We are very...." Skipo assured him but Dragon cut in. "O boy this matter don dey long too much naw. I don tell you say make we free this man make he dey go. This work too tight for us" Dragon declared in an angry manner. "Dragon, no worry. We go surely reach the root of this matter. Abi no be me again. You no trust me again? Relax abeg." Skipo stated as he puffed his cigarette. Skipo dragged Dragon alongside to have some words with him. "Dragon, I no like wetin you dey do. As professionals wey we be, you no suppose talk like that for Alhaji presence. Skipo announced bitterly to Dragon. "But no be my fault na. This matter dey extort so much of our time. That's why I dey talk that way" Dragon explained. "No wahala. We will surely sort out this problem. so far the barrister is still on this earth,we are going to track her down in a short while. She no fit run pass bullet. Na me go catch am red handed" Skipo made it known with much confidence. "Come, those boys never come back from the operation? Skipo asked. "Not at all. But they are now on their way, almost here already. Dem jist me about something o. Those boys are really coming with something big o. Dragon announced with a huge smile. "I trust them. Those guys are my niggas. No be like you wey you go dey shiver like hen wey fall inside bucket of water." Skipo teased. "No be like that jare. Dragon tried to convince him. "O boy na to paint the town red today o. Na to finish the whole brewery dey hungry me so. Five plates of cat fish go do with one fine babe" he Soliloquized. Mama and her grandson, who had been sitting down helplessly on the floor stood up to excuse herself to go and pee "My son, please, I want to go and use the restroom" Mama pleaded. "Who be your son for here?! In your life, don't ever call me your son! I think you know that your days are numbered already? If your son refuse to send the ten million naira into our account today, consider yourself dead already! Get out from here and do whatever rubbish you care to do!" Dragon shouted. "Thank you so much, sir. Mama replied while she rushed to the rest room. In a short while, Kasala hastily ran into the building raising alarm of the police presence, surrounding the building already. "Dragon, Skipo, abeg, make una run. The police are here. They tracked us down here as we were trying to escape from the operation. They have killed Paschal and two among us. Please, run!" Kasala ran as fast as he could while Dragon and Skipo followed suit. It was too late for Alhaji to escape as he was caught before he could flee. Mama and her grandson were rescued and taken into the police van by one of the policemen. Another policeman untied the rope used in tying Gloria and Chioma's hands. All of a sudden, the kidnappers' hideout became a battle scene. Skipo brought out a pistol from his back pocket and fired two shots in the direction of the police van but unknown to him, a policeman was behind him who quickly took hold of his hands, disarming him in the process. None of the kidnappers could escape as the whole building had been surrounded by fully armed policemen. "God, I thank you o. Oh Chineke, imela". This was the song mama was singing inside the police van. She was happy that she and her grandson finally escaped from the kidnapper's den after so many days without good food and shelter and with so many threats from them. Chioma and Gloria's joy knew no bounds too. It was worth celebrating to be free from the kidnappers' wrath. Gloria couldn't wait to see her husband once again and declare how much she had missed him. Chioma on the other side was pleased to gain her freedom too. She was eager to see Ngozi and her children. They had to unite as a happy family once again.
