“Hello,” greeted Sean with a smile. “H-hye,” Kaien was stuttering. ‘Calm down, Kaien. Be smart. You got this. You got this.’ “So you are back,” said Sean. “Come closer.” Kaien did not say anything, but he obeyed and walked slowly toward Sean. He stood not too far, but not too close to Sean. Sean had his eyes fixed on Kaien all the time. He smiled again and asked “Do you wanna play?” “I thought the game had already started,” answered Kaien, but Sean just smiled and did not say anything. He took a deep breath and asked. “What do you want to play?” “Hmm. Let’s see,” said Sean, playful. “Tell me, Kaien. Tell me something I don’t know,” “I know who you are,” Kaien replied. “Hahaha! You think you know who I am? Did you read about me in the books in the library?” Sean laughed coldly. “And you think I don’t know who I am? Haha!” “You had forgotten who you really are,” Kaien uttered, and Sean stopped laughing. “Huh? What are you trying to say?” asked Sean, serious. “You had forgotten who you really are,” Kaien repeated. “You are an angel who pretends to be a devil, so you can be with your lover. But you had pretended for long enough that you had forgotten who you are.” “I. . . What?” muttered Sean. He looked at Kaien with anger and shouted, “Stop saying bullshit!” “You start to forget. . .” Kaien continued, ignoring Sean’s shouted. “. . . The thing you should remember. And you can’t stop remembering the thing you should forget.” “I was. . . Me,” said Sean, stuttering. Something inside him had been shaken off. “Please remember who you are, Sean,” convinced Kaien. “Remember who you are. Remember the ‘you’ that your lover love so much.” “. . . Ohh, right,” muttered Sean, lost in his thoughts. “I was looking for someone.” “The one that you are looking for. . .” Said Kaien. “. . . Is no longer here.” “Hurm? I guess you are right.” Sean continued, “But, you are wrong about me.” “W-what?” Kaien was shocked. “I’m both. I’m an angel and devil at the same time,” Sean answered. “If I kill one of them, another one would die as well. But, it doesn’t really matter now.” “Sean. . .” “Wait! Sean!” shouted Allen who suddenly appeared from behind the wall. He, Benji and Nathan were so worried about Kaien and had been following him since he left the library. They had been hiding and heard all the conversation between Kaien and Sean since the beginning. Allen said, stuttering, “You are. . . Fading.” “Hmm. . . My life, it seems. . . Will fade away. I have lost the will to live. I guess that’s how angels ‘die’,” said Sean, looking at his hands as it began to fade. “I simply got nothing more to give. I guess this is the end to setting me free.” “What about us?” asked Benji. “The gate is open. You can go. . .” Said Sean. “. . . If you can.” “Let’s go now!” shouted Benji and he dragged Nathan with him. But, Kaien did not move. Something was bothering his mind. Benji stopped and said, “Kaien? Let’s go!” “What do you mean ‘if we can’?” asked Kaien. “Hurm? You have no idea, don’t you?” said Sean. He talked really fast as he would completely fade any moment. “He will take your life, all of ‘you’, all you care for, and he will leave you with nothing but mist and fog. He'll take your joy. And one day you'll wake and your heart and soul will have gone. A wisp of smoke you'll be, and a thing, no more than a dream on waking, or a memory of something forgotten. . .” “Slow down! What are you saying?” snapped Kaien, but he was too late. Sean was gone. He was nowhere can be found. Allen looked at Kaien and shook his body, “Kaien! Kaien! He’s gone! We need to get out here!” Suddenly Kaien grabbed Allen’s hand and shouted, “Let’s get out of here now!” Kaien ran as fast as he could and dragged Allen with him. Allen wanted to ask more questions, but he decided it was best if he kept his pace and did not fall while being dragged by Kaien. Behind them was Benji and Nathan who were running and following them while holding hands. They ran as fast as they could and did not bother about their stuff in their room. All they really wanted now was to get out of the mansion as soon as they could. When they reached the main door, Kaien tried to open the door, but it was shut tight. He and Benji tried to break the door, but it did not budge. They needed the key to open the door and the only one who had the key was Dominique. “Damn it! Open the door!” shouted Benji and hit the door a few times. “Damn it!” “We need to find Dominique,” said Nathan in a lower tone. “No, we can’t. .” Before Kaien could finish his words, a sound of a piano being played could be heard from the nearest room.
