Chapter 10 From how she looked like a while ago, she did not know where the fire came from.
ASHER'S POINT OF VIEW I just ignored them and focused my eyes on the fire. I used my special abilities to see her. She was sitting down on the surface covered with bermuda grass, coughing. She was also with someone who was shouting at her while coughing, too. "Do something!" the girl said, but Scarlette just rolled her eyes in response. What an insane girl. She could still roll her eyes in the middle of danger. "Scarlette," I whispered. She stopped coughing and looked around them. Her forehead creased. Probably, she was thinking if she was hallucinating or what. "Scarlette," I whispered again. "Who is that?" she finally asked. "It is No One. Listen to me. Get yourself relaxed," I instructed. "Dumb! How am I supposed to relax in this situation?!" she screamed, causing the fire to grow even larger. "Get yourself relaxed and the fire will be gone. Trust me." She breathed deeply and slowly closed her eyes. I took a step backward when the fire slowly faded until it was gone. She did it. The teachers and students who were there were shocked by what happened but me, I was amazed. I was amazed by her power. The girl that she was with, fainted but, she was still there, sitting while her eyes closed. I thought that she would stand up and shout 'What the hell happened?!' but . . . what the hell?! She fainted, too! I sighed. Friend's duties again. SCARLETTE'S POINT OF VIEW When I woke up, white was the only one I could see. I felt my body lying on a soft bed comfortably. 'Where am I?' All I could see was white, all white. 'What the hell?! Am I in heaven?!' "You are awake. How are you?" I quickly sat and covered my face with the white blanket. Oh no! She was getting closer! "Do not get near me, you, Demon!" I shouted. Yes, a demon . . . in heaven. She was wearing a black sleeveless dress! "Come on, Dear. This is Tita Wart, Asher's mom, remember?" she said as she chuckled. I slowly pulled the blanket down and stared at her face. It was really her. I gave an awkward smile. "Sorry, Tita. I thought I was in heaven already." She laughed like it was the funniest thing she heard. "I am a beautiful demon then," she uttered. I looked around. The room was not so big and empty. All I could see was the air-conditioner near beside me and the bed where I was sitting. "What happened, Tita? How did I get here? Did I faint?" I continuously asked. "Calm down, Dear." She sat beside me. 'I completely remember what happened to me earlier! The fire! Rhode! The whisper! The fire slowly faded! But I do not remember that I fainted!' "Tita, the fire! It faded slowly but I did not see any burned marks on the grass around us!" I shouted. "There are, Scarlette. You might be mistaken. Calm down." Tita held my shoulders and pushed me to lay down again. I breathed to calm myself. I pressed my eyes closed. Yes, I was just mistaken. Of course, there would be burned marks if there was a fire. I heard the door open and footsteps walked toward us. "Is she awake?" It was Asher who asked. "Yes, and I think . . . she was hallucinating before she fainted," Tita said in a low voice, being careful for me not to hear it but she failed. I agreed to what she had said though. I opened my eyes and looked at them straightly. "How did I get here?" I asked for the second time. Asher frowned. "I lifted you. That is why my arms are aching until now." He massaged his arms gently. "Did you say that I am heavy?!" I forcefully sat and glared at him. "No . . . but that is what I meant," he answered while smiling sweetly. My forehead creased when I remembered something. "Hey. Tita told me that you are sick. How did you—" He cut me out, "My classmate called me so as a friend, I came here immediately," emphasizing the word 'friend'. The fire earlier came into my mind again. 'How the hell it appeared and faded just like that? And that whisper which called my name, how come I heard it in the middle of shouts and noises?' SOMEONE'S POINT OF VIEW After I got home from that hot disaster, I ran to Dad's room. "Dad!" I called, making him face me. Like always, he was wearing his black ugly cloak that I found so creepy when matched with his pale skin. "What is the result of your assignment?" he asked. I frowned. "Dad, will you please say 'hi'—at least—before asking?" He gave me a sharp look. "I am not in the mood to greet anybody so, answer my question now!" his voice echoed in the whole place as he stood up from his black throne. In a split of seconds, the chandelier that was in the ceiling fell exactly in front of me. It shattered into pieces. I pouted my lips before returning my sight to him. "Dad, it is antique and expensive! You did not know how it is hard for me to bring it here in the Underworld!" I said with sadness in my eyes. "And you did not know how—" "Answer my question now!" I frowned again. He is the worst father I have met in my whole life. Promise. "Alright. But, will you please say 'thank you' after?" He gritted his teeth even more. "Just answer my question now!" I raised my both hands in surrender. "Okay!" I secretly rolled my eyes. "Yes, you are right. She is a demigod. She created a ring of fire," I stated. "Is she aware of it?" I shook my head, "No. From how she looked like a while ago, she did not know where the fire came from."
