According to the dictionary, balance is defined as: a means of judging or deciding: a counterbalancing force, weight, or influence: mental and emotional steadiness. “Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.” – Thomas Merton Finding balance isn’t easy. And it isn’t always easy to live life being able to balance everything that is requiring your energy. It is hard, since everyday we are loaded with various tasks that we need to do. There are times when we don’t feel great and it affects our performance. Another reason is, procrastination. We tend to leave the task that we need to do due to the thought that we can do it later. Indulging ourselves with our favorite activities of the day. Then, end up forgetting the thing that we need to do. Some have it to extremes. Then ended up cramming a night before or even during the exact day the tasks is needed to be done. Another problem is not knowing what to do first. Thinking that there are lots of stuffs that he/she needs to do, feeling overwhelmed and anxious about it. Then, was caught up with the work that is needed to be done, exhausted and drained by the tasks. One must know the importance of living a balance life. Finding balance comes from giving time and energy to the things that build you up and give you life. And eliminating the things that bring you down and stress you out. The elements in life that requires your balance can be divided into two categories: internal and external. Oftentimes, people focus more on the other one more than the other category. For example, one may find himself/herself the focus in doing external things, like work and activities. And pay little attention to what is going inside of his/herself, the mind and the heart. On the other hand, one may find himself spending a lot of time doing self-reflection and too focus on his/her own self that he/she may sometimes miss out a lot of opportunities that can bring experiences of being be able to live life happily. Other people may fairly being able to balance himself between the two but there are still some specific elements within he category that is lacking of his/her attention. Be sure to take time to really look at your life, your current state of mind, and how you are feeling at that certain moment. And when you are able to point the areas of your life that is being neglected, be honest to yourself that you forgot to pay attention to it. It is helpful to check in with yourself to see if you feel balance or not. Notice the areas that is in need of your attention, and think on how you can be able to fix it. There are different ways that you can choose from if you really want to balance your life. It takes time and effort to overcome any habitual pattern and create a new ones. If you stay on track with the details and your intentional processes, then there is a good chance you will be able to create habits that you can enjoy or will help you to a more balanced life going forward.
