Getting a good amount of sleep
Sleep is an essential part of our lives. It is important for our body as eating, drinking, and breathing. And it is vital for maintaining our mental and physical health. Yet, many of us neglect the idea of giving importance to our sleeping routine. Given the fact that most of us have hectic schedules thus rarely getting the right amount of sleep and rest. Now, is the time to pay attention to your sleeping schedule and know the consequences of not having the right amount of sleep. I know it is hard to keep up with the tight schedules and deadlines but know that sleep should be a priority. Below are some of the health risks one can experience when he/she is lacking of a good sleep. These may help you change your sleeping habits into a much more healthier form.
• Poor sleep us linked to higher body weight. People with short sleep duration tend to weigh significantly more than those getting adequate sleep. In fact, short sleep duration is one of the strongest risks factors for obesity. If you are trying to lose weight, getting quality sleep is absolutely crucial.
• Poor sleep affects the hormones that regulate appetite. This includes higher level of ghrelin, the hormone that stimulates appetite, and reduced levels of leptin, the hormone that suppresses appetite.
• Another study found that short sleep can negatively impact some aspects of the brain function to a similar degree as alcohol intoxication.
• Less sleep duration has also been associated with poor exercise performance and functional limitation. A study has shown that poor sleep can lead to slower walking, lower grip strength, and greater difficulty performing independent activities.
• Sleeping less than 7-8 hours per night is linked to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
• Poor sleep habits are strongly linked to adverse effects on blood sugar in the general population.
Thu, it is important to have a good sleeping habits to avoid these health complications. Your body will be able to function efficiently when you get the right amount of sleep you needed. You will be able to build a strong stamina and a sharp mind, getting the desirable result from you day to day tasks.
Have a soothing bath
Sometimes just having to indulge in a relaxing bath at the end of a tiring day can help you regain your strength and power. When it’s your time to for you to relax you can make the most the most of your experience. Here are some of the ways you can do to prepare for your relaxing bath.
• Choose your time wisely. Ensure that you won’t be disturbed and you won’t be having pressures on your time. If you live with other people and want to be guaranteed that you won’t be interrupted while you are trying to relax, let them know ahead of time. And if you live with your pets, you may want to close the bathroom door shut during your bath.
• Shower first. You’ll find your bath more enjoyable if you feel utterly clean before getting in, and view your bath as pure indulgence.
• Add some bubble bath or bath bomb for some aromatherapy. You could make your own bubble bath or bath bombs or buy some from the store.
• You may want to use essential oils to relax your body or clear your sinuses. Eucalyptus and peppermint are great for stuffy nose. Lavender for a relaxing scent. Wile lemon and rosemary can help boost your mood.
• Relax your muscles with some Epsom salt. Your body will absorb the magnesium and sulfate from the salt, which can loosen your join and relax your muscles.
• Create a playlist filled with relaxing tunes to play during your bath.
• Clear away clutters so the space will look appealing.
• Dim the lights and light some candles for a relaxing aesthetic.
• Use a body scrub to soften and exfoliate your skin after a long day.
You can give these a try when you’re preparing for having a bath that can soothe your body. It will be worth it as it gives you a calm and relaxing effect.
Taking a walk
Walking is a great way to improve your overall health. It is said that just 30 minutes of waking a day can increase your cardiovascular fitness, boost your muscle power, strengthen bones, reduce body fat, and invigorate your endurance. Walking can also reduce the risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and other types of cancer. Unlike some other forms of exercise, walking is free and it doesn’t require the use of any special equipment. You can get out and walk without worrying about the risk of associating yourself into a vigorous exercise. It is a great form of exercise for people who are overweight or elderly, and for people who haven’t exercise for a long time. You can try to walk for at least 30 minutes everyday to get its health benefits. Or if it is too difficult for you to walk for 30 minutes a day, you can do regular small bouts and gradually build up longer sessions. You can also try wearing a pedometer while walking. A pedometer measures the number of steps you take. You can use it to measure your movement throughout the day and compare it to your other days. This may help you to feel motivated to do more. Try to make walking your routine. For example, you can try to walk at the same time each day. Remember that you should make your walk a pleasure. You can walk with your friends, your dog, varying where you walk or join a walking club. Be sure to explore what’s going on around you, notice the sky, the people you’ll see, and the sounds you’ll hear. Here are some of the health benefits walking may bring you.

Be with Mother Nature
Interacting with Nature can help nurture your mindfulness and bring clarity to yourself. One must spend some time with nature. Admire its wonder and take the chance to feel the relaxation while enjoying its beauty. You can choose your preference as to what certain place you want to spend your time at. It may be a walk in the park getting your fresh air. Or going to a place where there are lots of trees. Go to bodies of water to take your mind off into something that stresses you. It all depends on what place you can find your comfort. Choose what you think suits you. Even you are all alone and you want to go outside wanting to have a clear mind from all the circumstances that made you feel dismayed and disappointed, go to your preferred place. As for me, I will take this chance to share my fun times with nature. I love rain, whenever it rains I feel like it cleanses all of the negativity away. I have longed to go outside and enjoy the rain. When I was a child I always stopped myself from doing it since I am afraid to get sick but now, I am not afraid of the thought of getting sick anymore. I mean, why will I stop myself from doing the things I know will bring me joy within me. So, every time it rains I always watch it fall outside. I love to see the plants and trees in the garden being blessed by the downpour of the rain. The rain always makes the plants looks so green, so alive. And by looking at that simple things, always bring me tranquility. At other times I feel the need to walk in our garden barefooted. I love this idea so much. The softness of the morning dew left in the grass, walking on it always makes me feel better. The freshness of the breeze. The flowers that bloom. Beautiful butterflies soaring from flower to flower to take some nectar. The chirping of the birds. The sky looking peaceful. All of it seems too good, always make me happy. Those things are such wonderful gifts from above. Finding beauty from what’s around me will always bring such great joy inside of me. Embracing the goodness and wonder of nature. I wish you can also start doing it, too. I can guarantee that it is something that can make you a great feeling of euphoria and serenity.
Finding something new
Everyday, is a chance to find something new. It maybe in a place you didn’t expect finding it. A person you run into. An activity that captures your interest. An item the looks strikingly appealing to your eyes. A food that made you feel such intense craving. A song played in a radio, that made you dance. And the list goes on. There are lots of fun stuffs out there that is waiting to be discovered. If you only take the chance to look life in a better way, you will be able to find these things. Everyday life blesses us with lots of things that can help us feel better. If you can just able to change your perception about things and start your day with some gentleness and positivity, these nice things will appear to your senses naturally. It will always be possible for you to find something new everyday. By reading this, why don’t you give me a favor to start your day with a smile and look at things from a brighter perspective. Life will bring you a surprise.
Dancing to your favorite song
This is one of the things I know can make someone’s day better. We all have our own favorite songs that we love hearing all over again. It doesn’t matter what genre is it, as long as it is your favorite. Dance to your favorite song, feel the beat. You can sing along with it if you want. Don’t let others blocked you from listening to your favorite song. I know at certain times when we were so excited to share people our playlist and they be like disgusted by our taste. Most of them will say something horrible and may discourage you to stop listening to it. Don’t listen to them, don’t mind them. Enjoy your favorite song. You are free to dance to its rhythm. When someone is bothered by the happenings in life feeling stressed, his/her may find comfort when they’re listening to music. I know most people tend to do that. I too, love to hear my favorite songs. This is such a simple thing one can do, but the effect it gives people is always something that cheer them up. It doesn’t matter what time of the day you want to listen to your favorite songs, you can always find yourself listening and dancing to the music.
Doing something that is only for you
We all love something, right? No matter how big or small it is, do it. You want to go to your favourite café to enjoy sipping your espresso, do it. You want to change your hair style into something that is isn’t pretty common from those around you, go for it. You want to wear a certain type of clothing, wear it. Don’t be afraid on how those around you is gonna react to that. If that something you want, then go for it. Don’t let them stop you from doing the things you love. Don’t be afraid to show the world who you really are. Show them that you are your authentic self, regardless on how they be able to view you it doesn’t matter. What matters the most is you are living the life you want. Doing things you love without you being reprimanded from it. Live life your own way.
