CHAPTER 16: FRIENDS

Amelia's POV
"Do you think he'll like it?" I ask Lily, showing her my own dress
"Your ass looks amazing." She says smirking.
I flip her off and say, "I already know hoe."
"But for real, I'm sure he'll love whatever you wear." She says reassuringly.
"Do you think I'm trying too hard by curling my hair?" I ask.
"No, stop overthinking!" Lily shouts.
"What if he doesn't show up? I knew he was suspicious!" I say, glaring at my reflection.
"This is a negativity free zone. So I'm gonna need you to stop talking shit about yourself." Lily says seriously.
I hear someone banging on my door, and I stare at Lily. She smiles and says, "Go answer it! Your Prince Charming is waiting.
I end the FaceTime, and grab my purse. I open it to see Esmeralda standing outside. I knew that knocking wasn't polite. She looks me up and down and asks, "Where are you going looking like a slut?"
My shoulders sag when I realize it isn't Sylvester, and I frown. "There's this school club event I have to attend. I'm supposed to dress up..." I lie.
"And that's your best? No wonder your life is pathetic." She scoffs. Ouch. Not going to lie, that kind of hurt.
I see Sylvester from a distance, and I shoo him away. "Well before you leave, you have to clean up the mess in the kitchen. Cassy tried baking a cake from scratch. I'm off to go shopping with my friends." She says, turning around.
"Oh... You probably don't know what that's like." She adds. I roll my eyes, and watch her walk back into the house. Mom would have teased you for dressing up for a boy I said lowly to my self.
I glance back at Alex's direction, and see he's hiding near a bush. I laugh and motion him to stay there, Sylvester doesn't know, I saved his name as dick appointment lol.
Dick Appointment:
The wicked witch is leaving, so make sure she doesn't spot you
Will do
Once I hear her car leave, Sylvester walks towards me. "Hey... Um I have to clean the kitchen." I say quietly.
"You mean we have to clean the kitchen." Sylvester says, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know Cassy was baking." I frown and feel tears forming. What is wrong with me? I don't know.
"Hey, it's okay. I just want to spend time with you. I don't really care what we do." He says softly.
I hold in a sob and bury my face in his chest. "My parents don't even get to see that I'm on a date. And my dad doesn't get to threaten you like in the movies. I have to fucking clean again. And Esmeralda called me a slut." I say, feeling tired.
"And I ruined a date so there's that too." I add, feeling even worse.
Sylvester chuckles and he cups my chin. "First of all, you didn't ruin anything. I have you in my arms, and that's all I really needed." He says simply.
"Second of all, ignore Esmeralda. You always look beautiful, and there's nothing you could do to prove me wrong. She's just jealous she can't pull off the outfits you wear." He says.
I laugh and say, "That's true. One time I swear I caught her stealing my clothes. She said she got the laundry mixed up, but I'm the one in charge of the laundry."
Sylvester smiles and says, "Now, can I kiss my date?"
I feel my face heat up and I bite back a grin. "Um... I I mean-"
Sylvester brushes his lips against mine, and I relax in his arms. He pulls away and rests his forehead against mine. "You're cute when you get embarrassed." He whispers.
"Stop..." I whine, squeezing my eyes shut. Just because you can't see him, doesn't mean he can't see you.
He places a kiss on my forehead, and then says, "Let's clean the kitchen. Then I can whisk you away from this hell."
We walk into the kitchen, and I see the sink full of dirty pans and measuring cups. "This bitch." I mumble, knowing Cassy has no idea how to measure shit.
"This isn't bad. I'll wash and you dry." He says.
I glance at him and wonder how he could possibly like me. He catches me staring, and winks. I glare at him, and he pulls me towards the sink.
30 minutes later, we had the whole sink cleared. I finish sweeping the crumbs of ingredients, and Sylvester washes his hands. I wash my hands after, and grab my purse.
"Still have enough energy for our date?" He asks, scratching the back of his neck. I nod excitedly, and see him sigh with relief.
*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
"You have a good taste in restaurants." I say, looking at the menu.
"Thank you." He says smiling.
A few minutes later, a waitress comes to take our order. After I order, I notice she's eyeing Sylvester up and down.
"Is that all?" She asks, bending down to grab the menus. Is she trying to flash him...?
Sylvester glances at me, asking if I want anything else. Does he not notice her?
"Yes, thank you." I say politely. I glare at the back of her head, while she walks away. She's obviously swaying her hips on purpose!.
Sylvester grabs my hand and kisses each knuckle. "Why are you glaring at her?" He asks, hiding a grin.
"Nothing." I say, trying to pull away from him.
He traps me in the corner of the booth, and now I see why he chose this spot. "You can't possibly see her as a threat." He states.
I scoff and say, "Threat to me? No way."
He nods and says, "Good because I'll only have my eyes on you." Awwwww!
Before I could respond, he dips down for a kiss. I smile and nip at his lip. I pull away, and glance towards the other tables.
None of them seem to notice us, so I relax against him. He rests his head on my shoulder, and I softly smile.
"Sorry, I know I'm supposed to try and start a conversation, but I feel very content right now." Sylvester says.
"That's okay. Do you want me to talk? Actually a bad idea, I'll just annoy you." I say laughing.
"Amelia, you could never annoy me." He says.
"Uh-huh..." I say, definitely not believing him.
He laughs and wraps an arm around my waist. "Fine, if there's a time you annoy me, the feeling doesn't last long." He says. "I know I probably annoy you all the time though.
"Oh ya for sure." I say agreeing. "But you know I only pretend to hate you. Getting a date with me isn't easy."
"Trust me, I know you have standards. I'll do my best to meet them." He says cheekily.
Sylvester pulls away when he sees our food coming, and I say, "You aren't doing a horrible job, I guess." He smiles at my words, and pecks my cheek.
*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
"How do you feel about mini golfing?" He asks.
"Pretty confident that I'll kick your ass at it." I say grinning.
He moves closer to my face and asks, "Really?"
"Yep." I say, almost touching his lips.
"We'll see about that." He says, pressing his lips against mine.
We walk to the first part of the golf course, and Sylvester let's me go first. Soon, we're at the very end of the course.
"What happened to kicking my ass?" Sylvester asks.
"I can still shove my foot up there." I say, pretending to kick him.
He laughs and wraps his arms around me. I look up and he brushes his lips against mine. "You're very cute when you lose." He says.
"You're very ugly when you move in to kiss me." I say, mocking his tone.
"Sure." He says, peppering my face with kisses.
I laugh and pull him down for one more kiss. "Let's try the arcade." He says, grabbing my hand.
I look around at the games, and gasp when I see a claw machine. "I'm winning us some stuffed animals." I say excitedly.
I swipe my card, and aim to get Griff. Why? He's your least favorite out of the three... It's for Sylvester... That's his favorite character, after I forced him to watch it with me.
I get it on my first try, and jump with glee. When it drops, I grab it, and hand it to Sylvester. "Thank you, Amelia." He says, cradling the stuffed animal like a baby.
"Should I try my luck on the other two?" I ask him.
"We can't separate Griff from his brothers!" He claims, like it was an obvious choice.
I swipe my card two more times, and end up getting the other two, after 4 attempts. After that, I compete against Sylvester to shoot the most hoops.
Unfortunately, he wins, but I end up beating him in air hockey. By the end of the night, we have a total of 6,669 tickets.
"Should we get that huge llama stuffed animal?" He asks.
"That looks so comfortable to sleep on." I say.
Sylvester's head whips to the side, and he says, "I was just thinking that!"
"Wow, we're meant to be." I say without thinking.
"Awww Amelia, don't make me blush." He says, pulling me closer to the side.
After we grab our prize, Sylvester says he has to make a quick stop. I sit on one of the free patio tables, while he grabs something from a bakery.
He comes back with a box of macaroons, and I say, "Oooh, those look so pretty."
He paces around me, and says, "Uh, they're for you. I know how they're one of your favorite desserts.
"Really? Thank you!" I say, opening the box.
"Why aren't you sitting?" I ask, as he continues to fidget.
"I just wanted to get you dessert, in case this whole thing goes wrong." He says, laughing nervously. Is he okay? Oh no. Is he going to say we're better as friends?
I frown when I realize that's why he's acting weird. "No, it's alright. I completely understand." I say, faking a smile. "I still had fun though."
Sylvester stops moving and turns to face me. "What?" He asks confused.
"You want to be just friends... It's fine, obviously you can't h-handle all of me." I say, adding a fake laugh. Come on, hold it together!
I chew on a macaroon, to stop the tears from forming. I'm fine. I'm supposed to die alone, I got the message universe... I'm being so dramatic today...
Sylvester sits beside me and holds my hands. "Amelia I was actually going to ask you to be my girlfriend. For real." He says, unsure if he should continue.
"Really?" I ask.
His facial expression looks hopeful and he nods. "I mean I didn't know if it was too early, cause it's only our first date. But then I didn't want you thinking I'm not ready to be in a relationship. Actually I've never-"
I press my lips against his, to stop him from overthinking. "I would be honored to be Sylvester Black's girlfriend. Oh my gosh, can I have your autograph?" I tease.
He kisses me again, and I can literally feel him radiating with happiness. So cute... I can't believe he fell for me.
He pulls away, and I see him smiling the biggest smile ever. "I'm really happy you said yes." He says.
"I guess I have a boyfriend now." I say, pretending like it's not a big deal.
We both laugh, and he pulls me into his lap. "Moving back was the best decision I have ever made." He says.
"I agree." I say, kissing his jaw. Guess which bitch is taken! This motherfucker!
