Chapter 21: HONEYMOON

Amelia's POV
(6 months after the wedding!)
"Why can't you just tell me where we're going?" I ask, zipping up my suitcase.
"It's a surprise." Sylvester says grinning.
"You sure I packed everything I need?" I ask, as I exit Lily and I's apartment.
"Yes." He says, carrying my suitcase.
When we're outside, there's a car waiting for us. He places my suitcase in the trunk, and then opens my door for me. "How cold is this place supposed to be? Worse than New York?" I ask laughing.
"Maybe, maybe not..." He says shrugging.
Soon, we drive into a large lot, and I see a private jet. "No fucking way." I say, looking at Sylvester.
He grins and says, "Surprise?
"How much does this all cost? Let me pay half!" I say, feeling bad for the expenses. Holy shit are we going to go into debt for this?
The driver parks the car, and Sylvester cups my chin. "Awww, it's cute you think I'd let my wife pay."
"Sylvester-" He cuts me off with a kiss, and I roll my eyes with a small smile
He pulls away and asks, "Does saying my parents paid, make you feel better?"
"No!" I say, even more worried. Just because my relationship with his parents isn't as rocky, does not mean I'm going to be a gold digger.
"Relax, they won it at that auction we attended. They already had plans and was just going to let it go to waste. Being the amazing son I am, I asked if they'd give us the tickets." He says shrugging.
"Oh... That does make me feel a little better." I say laughing.
He presses his lips against mine, and I run my hands down his chest. The driver opens the side door, and we automatically separate. I feel my face heat up with embarrassment, but it doesn't seem like the driver noticed.
Sylvester smirks and grabs my hand. The driver escorts us towards the plane, and carries our luggage for us. He hands our luggage to the flight attendant, and I grab a couple of bucks to tip him.
His whole face brightens up and he says, "Thank you ma'am."
I smile and the pilot introduces himself to us. Then we board the plane and I admire the interior. The seats look comfy! There's so much room! "Have you ever been on an airplane?" He asks.
"Nope. I've never even left the country." I state, feeling the seats.
Sylvester and I sit beside each other, and he says, "I guess we'll be changing both of those today."
"Wait, we're leaving the country?" I ask, surprised. Why would he ask you to bring a passport, if you were staying in the states?... Sometimes I'm surprised at your lack of knowledge. Hey! I mumbled to myself.
"Any guesses?" He asks, while the plan is starting to move.
"Cold... Antarctica?" I ask jokingly.
"Ding ding ding! Correct." He says sarcastically.
The plane starts to speed up down the runway, and I automatically grab Sylvester's hand. I feel my heart start to race, and Sylvester asks, "Are you okay? Do you need to throw up?"
"I-I don't know what's h-happening." I mumble, starting to feel hot.
I start to hyperventilate, and Sylvester squeezes my hand. "Hey, listen to my voice." He says calmly. I try to focus on his face, and watch his lips move.
"I think maybe you're experiencing a panic attack over flying. But we're okay, flying is one of the safest modes of transportation." He says.
My ears start to pop and I remember to swallow. Soon the plane is back to being horizontal, and I start to relax.
"See, you did so well." He says, pecking my cheek. My ears start to pop and I remember to swallow.
"Thank you. I'm sorry, I don't know why I was being a baby..." I say, adding a fake laugh.
"Hey, don't do that. Having anxiety on flights is normal. Now that we know you have it, you can just take medicine before flights. It'll usually have you asleep before you even realize you're in the air." He says.
I nod, and when we're allowed to get out of our seats, Sylvester calls the flight attendant. She hands me a water bottle and a can of Pringles.
When she walks away, Sylvester says, "I might have told them to stick up on your favorite snacks."
"You're the best." I say, kissing him.
"I know you're probably tired from taking off, but make sure to drink some water. I'll even let you rest on my shoulder if you want." He says, winking.
I laugh and gulp the water bottle down. Sylvester reclines our seats, and I rest my body against his. "This is strictly because I'm tired." I whisper, before closing my eyes.
He chuckles and says, "Of course. Why else would my wife want to be beside me?"
*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
I feel someone peppering my face in kisses, and I slowly wake up. "Good evening beautiful." Sylvester says, pecking my nose.
"I feel like I was asleep for like a whole day." I say, stretching my neck.
"You drooled." He says, pointing with his finger. For fucks sake Amelia! Drooling on your boyfriend? Really? Are you trying to make him disgusted?" My subconscious says.
I feel like I was asleep for like a whole day." I say, stretching my neck.
I glance at the direction, but see nothing. "I'm kidding, but your face is red." He teases.
I glare at him, and he grins. "Here's the menu for early dinner." Sylvester says, handing me the paper.
"How long is this flight?" I ask.
"It's 8 hours and we have 3 more hours to go." He says.
"So you're forcing me to spend a whole week with you? Sounds like hell." I say, faking disappointment.
Sylvester pouts and I smile. "Just kidding, spending time with you isn't the worst." I say quietly.
"Amelia talking about affection out loud? Very rare." He says with a gasp.
"Stop. What are you getting?" I ask, changing the subject.
"I'm getting the grilled chicken, you?" He asks.
"Pasta." I say, handing him the menu.
Sylvester orders and a few minutes later, our food arrives. He grabs a remote and turns the tv on. "Fancy." I say smiling.
We decide to watch a random K-Drama, and I swear Sylvester tears up at the end. "Don't laugh at me Amelia! They deserved a better ending." He says frowning.
I bite back a laugh, and choose to kiss him instead. He wraps an arm around me and I whisper, "Thank you for inviting me on this trip. I know you had plenty of other options."
"None of them are more important than my wife. I lo- Amelia, you are not just an option to me. You mean so much more to me than you could possibly think." He states, changing his last sentence.
I grin and he presses his lips against mine. The captain announces that we're starting to descend, so Sylvester and I put our seat belts back on.
Sylvester holds my hand, in case I also don't like landing, but I feel okay. I rest my head on his shoulder, while I watch the window.
The flight attendant announces we're in Switzerland, and I turn to face Sylvester "Switzerland?" I gasp.
"Disappointed?" He asks, scratching the back of his neck.
"No way! This is awesome!" I say, squeezing his hand excitedly. He kisses my forehead, and I grin.
When we get off the plane, we thank the pilot and flight attendant, and then a driver takes us to our hotel.
When we get to our hotel room, I spot our window view. "It's beautiful." I say, admiring the nature.
"You sure are." Sylvester chimes in.
I smile and wrap my arms around him. "We're taking pictures later." I say.
"Of course. First trip out of the country with my wife. It must be documented." He says.
I unpack my luggage and say, "I'm taking a shower. I definitely need to change after that flight."
"Want some company? It'll save water." Sylvester says winking.
I playfully glare at him and he laughs. After my quick shower, I blow dry my hair, and change.
I step out and Sylvester slowly checks me out. "Your beauty amazes me each and every day. I can't believe you're mine."
I blush and thank him for the compliment. He smirks and quickly pecks my lips. "I'll be quick." He says, stepping into the bathroom.
When we're both ready to explore the city, we take an Uber. We don't plan on doing anything too extreme today, and decide today is just for leisure activities.
We visit small shops, and I buy a few gifts for my friends. Turns out making friends in college is a lot easier than it was in high school. But of course, Lily is still my best friend.
Sylvester and I decide to have a second dinner, and we order tartiflette and polenta with braised beef. We sit in one of the booths, and share the plates of food.
"This tastes amazing." I exclaim, with a full mouth.
"I agree." He says, adding more to his plate.
When we're finished, Sylvester wraps his arm around my waist, while we go back outside. "Are you cold?" I ask, wondering if he needs more layers.
"Stop worrying about me. This jacket is enough." He says, placing his other hand in his pocket.
"You sure you don't need your gloves?" I ask, pulling them out.
He quickly grabs them, and puts them on. "You're a lifesaver Amelia. I have the best Wife don't I?" He asks, placing his arm around my waist.
"I can't believe you forgot, when I told you to bring them." I say laughing.
"What would I do without you?" He asks, kissing my cheek.
"Freeze to death." I say sarcastically.
I spot a small pastry shop and ask, "Want dessert?"
"Amelia?!" He exclaims dramatically. "I didn't know you wanted me that badly." He teases.
I shove his arm and he chuckles. "Do you want to eat those linzer cookies while we watch the firework show?" He asks, guiding me across the street.
"Ooh those sound good." I say agreeing.
"I thought so. I know you like pastries with jams." He says smiling.
When he opens the door for me, I turn and ask, "Are you trying to impress me, Sylvester?"
"And I'll never stop." He says seriously. I still can't believe you guys have been together for 9 months. I thought he'd get tired of you by now my subconscious says.
The worker hands us a box of cookies, and we quickly return outside, when we hear the fireworks. We sit at a bench, and have a perfect view of the show.
Sylvester opens the box, and lets me choose first. I take a bite and then glance at Sylvester. He's enjoying the fireworks, and I randomly feel a rush of emotions. Oh shit, here we go again.
"I love you." I say, quickly looking away. You said that out loud?! I feel my heart pound in my chest, and hope maybe he didn't hear it. It's not that big of a deal anyway... Uh-huh...
Sylvester's head whips in my direction, and his lips curve upwards. "What was that?" He asks.
I slowly turn, but only look at his chest. "Huh? Oh uh... Well you see... I-I love you." I stutter.
He cups my cheek, forcing me to look in his eyes. "Um, y-you don't have to say it. 9 months could be too soon, which I totally understa-" My rambling gets cut off by his lips.
He smashes his lips against mine, and pulls me closer. I'm basically sitting on his lap, and he pulls away. "I love you so much, Amelia Black." He says, smiling like he won the lottery.
I grin and ask, "Really?"
"You're my dream girl, Amelia. You mean the world to me, and I don't know how I could live without you." He says seriously.
I lean down to kiss him again, and don't even notice the fireworks are done. "You've shown me I can still have a happy life, and I love everything about you. Even if you're still a dick." I say, feeling my face heat up, despite the weather.
"Wow, totally ruining the moment." He says jokingly. "Still love you though." He says, going back to kissing me.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing that from him. Who knew a bracelet could lead you to this? If you mean happiness, then I'd say I made a few choices about my fate on my own. Mom always taught me, moira means we get to choose our destiny.
