“Wakey, wake...i made you soup,” Eryna walked into the room. Ayden had woken up just a while ago, so Eryna decided to bring him her creation.
Ayden sat up slowly with an astonished expression.
“You made this? For me?” He asked in a daze,
“Yes, try it,” Eryna nodded energetically, Aydne picked up the bowl and lifted the spoon with his trembling hands, he almost spilled it over himself when Eryna grabbed onto it.
“Let me feed you,” Ayden’s eyes widened when he heard her words, “Don’t be surprised, I am used to feeding little kids, you know how messy kids can get once they are sick—well kids are always messy to be honest,” Eryna mumbled and blew onto the spoon filled with soup and slowly brought it closer to Ayden’s lips.
“Open your mouth, hurry up!” Eryna saw Ayden as Her son who had gotten sick,
Ayden opened his mouth and ate it.
“How was it?” She asked.
“It was great,” Ayden gave a weak answer while staring intently at her.
“You- you don’t remember me, Right?” Ayden mustered up the courage and asked away.
“Remember you? What do you me a by that?” Eryna asked while giving his the soup.
“We have met before- before you married my brother,” Ayden gulped down the soup and spoke.
“Before that? Hm...I don’t remember, could you tell me where it was exactly?” Eryna asked.
“It was-It was at a funeral,” he spoke with a reluctant voice, he didn’t want to make her feel sad again.
“Funeral...No, I don’t think I have attended any funeral in a while now,” Eryna replied.
“It was three years ago…” he replied.
Eryna stopped suddenly, her heart started beating rapidly, as the memories flashed before her eyes again, the horror of the day crept through her bones and a shiver moved all over her muscles making the bowl vibrate.
“I am sorry, did I make you feel uncomfortable?” Ayden felt like he had done something very wrong, he looked at her with an apologetic gaze.
“No, it’s okay...I was just— so what did you say? We met at the funeral?” Eryna brushed off the emotions and asked.
“Yes, I saw you beside the grave when everyone had left, your brother was there too, don’t you remember?” Ayden’s expression made it so clear that he wanted her to remember him, Eryna stared into his sincere eyes, she saw something in them that made her lips curl up into a smile. It was like she had understood something very deep, and she became happy.
Eryna’s lips parted and she spoke up softly.
“Why do you want me to remember that day? Would that change anything?” Eryna asked.
“I wanted to tell you something, It’s that I Lo—“
“No! You don’t, I am not the right person!” Eryna stopped him suddenly because she knew very well what he was about to say, she had seen it in his eyes and she had seen the same look in Simba’s eyes when he asked her to come back alive, but this time the emotion was for somebody else.
When Eryna stopped him suddenly and said that she wasn’t the right person, Ayden took her words in another way, he thought she meant that as she was already married, she wasn’t the right person for him anymore.
“Please wait for a little longer—just a little bit longer,” Eryna muttered and placed the bowl beside his bed, she walked out the room quickly.
Her face was formed into a huge grin.
“What are you so happy about?” Micah interrupted her happy walk. But Eryna didn’t frown nor she was angry,
“None of your business,” Eryna Chuckled and stepped over the first stair that led to the third storey.
“Where are you going?” He interrupted again,
“To my room!” Eryna replied.
“Your room? Wasn’t that down stairs?” Micah asked,
“It was, now I am living in my brand new beautiful room that is far away from yours...That way you won’t be able to see my face anymore,” Eryna spoke sarcastically and walked away,
“I already said sorry, why do you keep on dragging that back?” Micah was flustered so he walked behind her again.
“Hah! Look who's talking! Aren’t you the one who keeps on suspecting me for being a gold digger?” Eryna replied while holding the door to her room.
“But aren’t you one?” Micah made a point.
“Well at least I am not a cheater like you, first you cheat your wife with a hotel maid and then with that sweet beauty! Have some shame before accusing someone else,” Eryna grinned and closed the door.
“How dare you say those things to me, open the door and talk to me directly!” Micah banged the door when he heard Eryna’s provoking words.
“Why? Does that hurt?” Eryna suddenly opens the door, which caught Micha by surprise.
“...”
“See I feel the same when you call me a gold digger,” Eryna explained. “Okay, now I have no more strength left to fight with you, I want to have some rest, let’s continue tomorrow,” Eryna closed the door again, leaving Mocha to ponder over his words.
“Then why did you marry me?” Micha asked.
There was no response from the inside,
“Tell me why did you marry me If you aren’t after my money,” Micha added.
The door of the room clicked open, and Eryna peeked out,
“You want to know?” Eryna asked in a serious tone.
“Yes,”
“Will you believe me if I tell you?” Eryna asked another question,
“I don’t know,” Micha replied reluctantly.
“Then I am not telling you,” Eryna was about to close the door again, and Micah saw that happen so he quickly held onto the door, Eryna lifted an eyebrow and gave him a questioning look.
“I will try,” Micah replied in a small voice,
“Okay! Good enough, Come in and make yourself comfortable,” Eryna opens the door of her new room, Micah stepped in and was taken aback by the beauty of the place, the room had tall windows on every side. And the curtains weren’t drawn yet, the sky was visible through the window and beside the glass there was a cozy floor bedding. The room had a dim light that went well with the chocolate brown interior.
“I never knew there was a room like this in the mansion,” Micah didn’t hide his amazement.
“I know right! I was shocked too when I saw this the other day,” Eryna chuckled.
“So this is where you were when I was looking for you in the morning,” Micha didn’t realise but he said it.
“You were looking for me?” Eryna asked because she heard him mutter.
“No! I didn’t,” he looked away suddenly.
“Okay!” Eryna ignored him and sat in the bean bag beside the bedding.
“Have a seat, make yourself feel at home,” Eryna uttered.
“I will! It is my home so I will make myself comfortable,” Micha sat in the bedding, which was oddly soft.
“How is it? Soft right?” Eryna waited for his response but Micah managed to cover up his amazement.
“Nothing impressive,” Micah replied. “So tell me, why did you marry me?” Micha continued with the important topic.
“Hm...about that,” Eryna sat back in the bean bag and mumbled, “ I would have lost another dear one if I didn’t marry you,”
Eryna looked straight into Micah’s eyes, Micah listened to her with a serious expression. “ I didn’t have the strength to bury another corpse,” Eryna’s voice was serious, she saw her mother’s pale complexion, Simba’s painful death and Renya’s wilted smile before her eyes.
“So do you believe me now?” Eryna asked.
Micah didn’t answer, he only stared at her expression, and then looked out of the window.
“So, what would you do when I divorce you?” Micah questioned while still looking outside the window.
“I will continue my life where I left it off,” Eryna replied in an excited tone.Download Novelah App
