“You are here! Come have a seat,” Levi stood up and smiled at Renya, Ayden had his back towards the door, he heard the lady’s heels as she was walking towards them.
“You have a guest today?” Reyna spoke and this made Ayden’s ear stand up, he had heard a familiar voice. He looked up and was stunned. Levi Stared at his shocked expression and didn’t disturb him, Ayden blinked a few times at Rneya while she slightly smiled at him.
“Hi! Nice to meet you,” She added, but Ayden couldn’t utter a single word. Renya stared at him for a while and she suddenly remembered, “ I know you—you are from the-“ she paused, because she had suddenly remembered the rainy day at the graveyard many years ago, there was no way he would have remembered her.
“Come have a seat, Simba will be here any moment,”
“Yes,” Renya pulled the seat and sat on the chair. Ayden’s eyes were fille dirty disbelief, Levi decided to ease their conversation and spoke.
“Ayden!” But he didn’t budge he was frozen, Levi patted his back and brought him back to reality,
“Huh! What?” He spoke in a daze. And then looked at Renya, his lips parted and he uttered, “Renya?”
Renya’s eyebrows twitched and she glanced at Levi for a moment, “ How does he know my —“
“I told him your name, I hope you don’t mind,” Levi made an innocent expression.
Ayden was blank because the Renya in front of him didn’t recognize who he was, she acted like a stranger.
“Oh that’s okay, “ she replied softly, the waiter walked in with the breakfast and placed it in front of Ayden but his hunger was already gone.
“Mum! I washed my hand with soap,” Simba ran over to Renya.
“Oh! Really? That’s so great...let’s go home and I will treat you to something nice,” Reyna played with him.
“You can take Simba home, he must be tired after school,” Levi spoke to Renya.
“Are you sure you don’t want to play with him today?” She asked.
“Yeah! I have to accompany so I won’t be able to play with Simba,” Levi looked at him, “ let’s play tomorrow,” he gave Simba a high five to which Simba responded energetically and gave him a high five.
“Then we will be leaving,” Renya gave them a soft nod and glanced at Ayden with a deep gaze, and then slowly walked away.
They left the cafe leaving the two men in utter silence. Ayden's throat finally allowed him to speak.
“How? How did this happen? She has the same voice, the same face everything is the same so why was she acting like she doesn’t know me? Her gaze was so empty, it was as if I wasn’t talking to Renya,” Ayden asked.
“Do you have an explanation for this?” Levi picked up the cup from the tray and placed it neatly before him.
“No! My Brain has stopped responding to me! I mean how can someone have such a striking resemblance with someone else? Is that even possible?” Ayden looked up at Levi with a desperate look.
“It’s possible—if you have a twin,” Levi picked up the cup and took a sip out of it.
“No way! Renya doesn’t have a sister? I mean she has one but that is her step…” Ayden suddenly rejected.
“Are you sure?” He added. “Think a little bit more, Tell me where and how you met Renya?” Levi spoke in a mysterious tone.
“I saw her at a funeral,” Ayden replied,
“Good...whose funeral was it?” He asked.
“Her—her sister’s,” he replied.
“Exactly, her sister,” Levi victoriously clicked his tongue.
“But she died, what does she have to do with Renya?”
“She didn’t! That poor girl lost the love of her life on the happiest day of her life, She decided to end her life— that girl has seen many nights but she decided to smile—Eryna married Micah when she found out that Renya was being pushed into a loveless marriage-“ Levi looked away.
“How do you know this?” Ayden asked,
“Hunter- he is my friend, he asked me to let Simba stay with her, he told me he was the only reason she decided not to end her life, at first I couldn't agree with it, but when I heard about her story it made my heart stop. I would have never guessed that her happy face had so much suffering that she decided to bury inside her,” Levi’s voice was sorrowful.
Ayden blinked sadly a few times and then swiftly got up. He left the cafe in a hurry.
“He has to see it with his eyes,” Levi muttered under his breath and looked at the window.
Ayden wasn’t sure what he was doing but he walked through the pavement and thought deeply.
“What is going on! Is it-is it like that?” He muttered.
Renya’s face from a while ago moved before his eyes, he breathed out heavily and then pulled out his phone and searched through the numbers and found Ernya’s phone number that was saved by the name “Renya”.
He stopped walking and gave Eryna a call, he silently waited for her to pick.
“Hello,” a sleepy and tired voice spoke from the other side. Ayden’s heart was beating wildly because he wished that everything Levi had told him was true but it could be that everything was a lie so he was having a hard time speaking up.
“Ayden? Is everything okay?”
“I wanted—I wanted to ask you something,” he spoke up.
“Hm...ask away,” her voice was getting lower and lower with every word she said.
“You remember that day when you brought me the soup-“
“Yes—“
“I was about to tell you to do something but you stopped me,” Ayden breathed out. Eryna didn’t answer, “ when you said you were not the right person—what did you mean by that,” Ayden asked.
“Hah!!” Eryna chuckled, “Why? Did you find an answer for that?” She asked.
“Please tell me why you say that you were not the right person,” He asked again.
“Because I wasn’t the one who should have received that, the words were for someone else,” Eryna replied.
“You mean the words were for someone else, Someone like-“
“Renya-“ Eryna completed it for him.
“So you are not-“
“Yes! I am not Renya, I am Eryna...her sister!”
