It was 10 in the morning, Renya walked to and fro before Micah’s mansion waiting for him to drive out as she didn’t have enough guts to get inside, but after a long wait she saw no one come out, and that made her anxious. She slowly approached the gate and was quickly greeted by a guard at the gate.
“Miss!” He spoke with surprise.
“Hi!—“ she spoke awkwardly. “Is Your Master home?” She asked.
“Master? He is gone to work,” he replied.
“Gone? Already?” Renya asked.
“Miss, Master usually goes to work early, you know that,” he replied with a confused expression on his face.
“Oh! Yes—how silly of me,” Renya smiled, “I will meet him at work then,”
Renya took a step away towards her car.
“What if things don’t go the way I have planned?—“ Renya twisted her fingers as she was scared of talking to Micah, she didn’t know what kind of attitude he had or how he would react when he found out that he had been played.
“Please! Let it all go smoothly!!” Renya prayed inwardly and drove off.
…………………….
The sunlight seeped through the curtains as Micah sat with a serious expression on his face. Timely he picked up the cup of coffee and took a sip before continuing his work. The phone on the table rang, Micah looked at it before picking it up.
“What is it?” He asked as he knew it was his secretary at the other end.
“Master, there is a lady. She wants to talk to you,” She spoke.
“Does she have an appointment with me?” Micah asked.
“No! But she says it’s urgent,” the secretary replied.
“Send her away, I don’t have time,” Micah placed the phone back and continued with his work.
“What did he say?” Renya asked as she saw the secretary put the phone down.
“He said he isn’t free, you cannot meet him,” the secretary replied plainly.
“But it’s urgent!” Renya begged.
“I said he doesn’t allow it! I can’t let you meet him just like that! I will get fired!” The secretary replied.
“I am sorry but I will have to go!” Renya knew that the secretary had to walk around the table before she could stop her so Renya swiftly walked towards the door.
“No! You can’t just brag in there!” The secretary sure got furious and she quickly walked after Renya to stop her but it was too late as she had already opened the office door.
“Stop!” She held her air and tried to pull her back.
“I am sorry master! But she persistently walked in,” the secretary looked at Micah, who she was expecting to have an ugly expression. But she was surprised at his gaze. Micah got up from his chair and moved swiftly towards Renya. The secretary stepped back.
“You are back!” Micah held Renya’s shoulder and then pulled her into a hug.
Renya sucked in the air harshly and stood like a rock. This was too sudden as she wasn’t expecting such a greeting from Micah’s side, especially a person she had heard a lot of bad things about.
“Where did you go? Where were you?” He muttered.
“I—I was,” Renya didn’t know what to say.
“Wait, have you had breakfast?” Micah parted and asked with an enthusiastic tone.
“No! But that’s not what I am here for!” Renya protested.
“We will talk—“ he looked at his secretary, “bring her something to eat!” He ordered the secretary and pulled Renya towards the table. And sat her up on the couch.
Micah’s face was painted with a smile,
Renya looked at the table and pulled away a bit.
“What happened?” He asked.
“The flowers,” she looked at them with disgust.
“Flowers?” He looked at the vase on the table with an odd look.
“It’s nothing, I just wanted to tell you something,” Renya spoke. “It’s about our marriage,” she spoke. And suddenly Micah’s smile faded as he remembered that he had received the divorce papers from her side.
“Oh! How could I forget!” He retreated a bit and glanced away. “What about it?” He asked.
“Acho!!” Renya sneezed.
Micah reflectively reached out to the tissue box and pulled out a tissue and handed it over to Renya.
“Are you okay? Do you have a fever?” He touched her forehead to test the temperature.
“No it’s just I am allergic to flowers,” she replied breathlessly.
Micah creased his eyebrows. “You are?” Micah clearly remembered her carrying a bouquet around and she even kept it by her bedside.
“I thought you liked them!” He spoke.
“That’s what I am trying to tell you! I am Renya! But I am not that Renya!” She spoke out.
Micah sat with a puzzled expression.
Renya scratched her arms and her face started to redden, She started breathing heavily, “You have to come with me to the hospital!” She spoke.
“Why? Are you not feeling well?” He asked.

The door of the room opened once more and this time it was Ayden. He was puzzled to see Renya on the couch. And she was breathless.
“Renya?! What happened to her?” He ran closer to her and shook her shoulder.
“Tell him, tell him about Eryn—Eryna’s condition,” these were the last words before Renya fainted. Micah was worried but Ayden was the one whose face color had faded.
He picked her up and took a step towards the door.
“Let me take her! She is my wife!” Micah growled.
Ayden looked at him with a complicated expression.
“No, she is not!!” He replied and ran out of the room, Micah was burning up with anger so he followed Ayden.
“What are you talking about?” Micha asked in a hurry.
“She is not your wife—“ he replied and ran out of the building towards his car.
He laid Renya in the back seat and sat in the front to drive away, Micah too sat in the car but he took the seat at the back with Renya.
“What is all this?” Micah lifted Renya’s head and placed it on his thighs as he saw her breathing oddly. But suddenly his eyes flashed with realization.
“She—she is not,”
“She is not your Renya!” Ayden added while driving.
Micah stared at her sleepy face, “she is the same but—but she is not,” he muttered.
Slowly Renya breathed out harshly and opened her eyes.
“Where is Renya—My Renya?” Micah muttered as he saw her open up her eyes.
Renya lifted her head slowly and looked up at the front, she still scratched her arm lightly.
“She is at—the hospital,” Renya replied with a guilty tone.
“Why!?” Micah jumped.
“She is sick—very sick,” Renya’s tone got teary, “ She might not live through her sickness,” Renya mumbled in a teary tone.
“what did you say? Why are you talking like that?” Micah’s veins popped out of his forehead.
Ayden frowned as he saw Micah getting angry at Renya so he jumped into the fight. “Because she has cancer!” He spoke out.
“NO! THAT IS A LIE!” Micah growled, It was just then they reached the hospital.Download Novelah App
