Chapter 3 Him

"Hello there, it's nice to see you again."
Lucas, I exclaimed, dumbfounded. Seriously? After what he had done earlier, grabbing me by my collar and calling me a perverted stalker, No way I'm going to let him annoy me any longer. When he noticed I didn't reply to his greeting, he just continued to stand next to me.
"Do you need something?"
I sigh, finally giving up after he'd been standing next to me for quite some time. To my surprise, he was smiling. Which is weird, because why would he be smiling now?
"You are one weird nut. Say, what are you doing now? Can I take you out for dinner?"
Lucas, he said as he smiled. I never noticed this before, but his blonde hair shines brightly under the sun. His blue eyes were staring into mine. He looks so good in the sunlight. Wait, why does it sound so weird?
"No. Can't. Busy. Work."
I replied as he sighed, followed by a groan, saying that I'm no fun. Well, excuse him. We just met this morning, and now he wants to grab dinner? For what exactly? He's really weird. I wonder how he could get along with anyone so easily considering he's talking to me now, acting like we have known each other for so long.
"Hey, this may sound random, but do you believe in destiny?"
Lucas said as I stared at him in confusion. What is this now? I can't really say I do because I've never really experienced such things, so it was hard for me to say.
"Perhaps? Why?"
I am curious. Since that is really so random, I wonder why he asked that.
"Would you believe me if I told you we'd met before, in a previous life..."
He trailed off the last phrase as I was really amazed at how his imagination is so active. I can't help but laugh since this is the first time someone who's trying to strike up a conversation with me asked something like that. It was something new, really weird.
"Sure, whatever floats your boat."
I replied as I noticed that I have four more hours before I have to go to work, so I should probably go straight to my dorm and do my laundry. It's been a while and I don't want to be nagged by my junior roommate, who's a clean freak. It's really hard to live with someone who's totally different from me.
"You're so boring. I wonder how you live like that."
Lucas said before walking off to who knows where. Well, I can't blame him. I've always been like this since, middle school I think? That time, I was forced to move schools since my parents were getting a divorce. So I had to go with my mother since my so-called father is a drunkard bastard and doesn't want to take care of me. It was really hard to try to fit in at a new place when everyone else had already formed their own group of friends. But that never bothered me anyway, since I actually prefer it that way. Instead of forcing myself to be liked by others, I'd just enjoy my school life peacefully without any drama.
Or so I thought.
Back then, I was bullied for something silly that wasn't even my fault. Okay, just imagine this. One day, you were walking down the hallway carrying books that were heavy as fuck because your teacher told you so. And here comes the shitty part. A senior BUMPED into you and you ended up cursing since the books fell on your feet. Not only did your toes get hurt, but you also became the next victim to be bullied since that senior was pissed off that you were cursing at them. And that's how my middle school life goes by. Imagine every single day your bully waits for you at the school entrance just to push you around. To humiliate you in front of everyone.
I was terrified back then, even thinking of skipping school because I was afraid to meet that one senior. But now, I can't help but laugh at how stupid I was for not saying anything. I really wanted to pinch my old self to wake her up from that nightmare.
"Mia, can you help me print this when you're going out? Just tell me how much later. I'll transfer it to you."
Hayley, my junior, My roommate said as she gave me a pen-drive. To be honest, her demeanour irritates me greatly. Just because she's a junior doesn't mean she gets to ask me to do everything for her. Like, how come she could never find the copy centre until now? It's been months since she got here? It's really annoying, and the fact that she said she's going to transfer the money later is also bullshit. She never did it, not even once.
"Um, sorry, but I'm running late. I don't think I have time to stop by the copy centre."
I replied, hoping that she would actually do it on her own this time, but she just turned her gaze towards me.
"You could just print it anywhere. I could wait until you get back from work. No worries."
She said as is, it wasn't a big deal.
Oh fuck you.
"What?"
Huh? I was dumbfounded when she asked me that. Did she hear me? What the hell is with those ears of hers?
"I'll text you the cost later."
I replied as she gave me a giddy smile and hugged me. I seriously can't understand if she's just so lazy or if she just wants to trouble my life. I took my unwashed laundry and slammed the door. really hard. No regrets at all.
She's really an annoying bastard.
While I was waiting for my laundry to finish, I went to a nearby convenience store to grab something to eat. I never realised that I was starving until my stomach started to grumble.
"What would you like to do? Should we go watch the new movie together?"
I heard familiar voices that I don't want to admit since I feel like I have heard them today. And it does not make me feel good.
"I want to go back quickly. Let's grab some condo—"
I literally choked on my own saliva when I finally realised whose voice it was. Just what is going on in my life to cause me to meet them twice today?
Greaaaaaaaaaaat
