It's been two weeks since Andrew and I last talked. Since then I haven’t had any news of him yet, except that Michelle said he was abroad, with Belle and aunt Fely. I also heard that their wedding was on last week of October, which is next week. It was the wedding of Andrew and my cousin Belle. Well, I'm happy for them. It's okay for me because I am happy and contented with my daughter, Sunny. She's much better compared with anything else. Aunt Fely didn't bother me anymore, probably because I gave in to her wanting me to stay away from Andrew for Belle. Today is Sunny's sixth birthday! We were celebrating her birthday in Jollibee—at her favorite restaurant. "Momma!" She just came out of the room with Grace. She's wearing a barbie dress. I bought her dress three days ago at the mall. She loves barbie so much that's why she's happy wearing it. "Baby!" I greeted her back and then kissed her on her cheeks and nose. "Baby are you okay?" I asked her after I noticed another bruise on her skin. She has bruises almost every day. She also looks pale. She also seems to be weakening. "Yes momma, I'm okay." Her response was sweet. But I'm still worried, she doesn't look fine for me. Never mind, after we celebrate her birthday I will take her to the center for a checkup. Before we headed to Jollibee we first went through the cake I had customized for her, of course that's a barbie cake. When we sat down and I was able to order I started arranging her cake. I lit the candle along with the cake and poked it on top of Sunny’s cake. Then Grace and I sang to her. "Happy birthday baby! Happy birthday baby! Happy birthday, happy birthday! Happy birthday, Sunny!" Grace and I sang together. She's smiling big as we sang with her ate Grace. "Happy birthday baby!" I greeted her sweetly. "Thank you, momma!" "Happy birthday Sunny!" Grace greeted her too. "Thank you, ate!" "Wishing time!" I said excitedly. She was also excited there because of her inexplicable smile. She started closing her eyes and then says her wish. "First of all, before I say my wishes, I just wanted to thank you Papa God because you let me celebrate another year here on Earth! Thank you too, because I'm with my momma and my ate Grace... " She still clung to me as she said the words that penetrated my heart so much. "...Papa God this is my first wish. I wish I could have my next birthday... if ever you let me have my birthday again for another year ... I hope I'm with my Daddy also, because I really want to meet him. " Grace and I looked at each other because of Sunny's first wish. "...Second, Papa God, before you take me, I hope we have family bonding between Momma and Daddy!" I was hopeless of removing Andrew in my life. Sunny's longing for him and as a mother, I want her to have her Daddy. But, how can I do that? "Momma are you and Daddy already married?" She opened her eyes for a moment to ask me the question that widened my eyes. "Why did you asked that?" "Just answer me momma," she said poutily. "No," I replied to her delight. "Yes!" She said that almost out loud. She closed her eyes again before continuing her wish. "Papa God, I also hope to be the flower girl at Momma and Dadda's wedding—please? Thank you!" After she said that she smiled and opened her eyes. "Those are all my wishes momma!" She said and then blew her candle. I don’t know if I’ll be happy with the wishes I heard of my daughter or what. But since it's her day, I've decided to put aside for a moment the thoughts that bothered me now. "Let's eat now?" "Okay." I stopped because Sunny seemed to be out of breath. She can't breathe properly! "Baby, are you okay?" She smiled and just nodded at me. But at the same time as she nodded her gradual loss of consciousness caused me to be confused. "Sunny!" I screamed. — "How's my daughter Doc?" My whole body was shaking so even my voice was affected by it. I was shivering when I asked the doctor who take care of Sunny. This is the first time my daughter has gotten sick. That's why that's how scared I felt earlier while we were at Jollibee. My daughter could not even eat because of her sudden fainting. "Does your family have blood disease?" The Doctor asked calmly. I shuddered because I don't remember having a family with blood disease. "No Doc, why did you ask?" My voice was calm but still tinged with trembling. "I'm sorry to tell you this but your daughter is positive with cancer." My tears flowed one after another. I can't believe this! Why is it needs to be my daughter? "N-no...maybe you're just wrong Doc, aren't you? Please tell me that it's not true! You're just wrong!" I shouted at him. I almost shook his whole body so that he would take back what he said. Impossible! How did my daughter get cancer? "She's suffering Acute lymphocytic leukemia... it's a blood cancer." He added that it made me cry even louder. I almost slumped on the floor just to get him to take back the false news he told me but he really didn't want to take it back. "Miss Agustin calm down...her disease is curable. It can still be treated—" "In what way Doc? Chemo? Doc, my daughter is too young!" I cried and shouted at him. "That's the only way... I'm sorry." After the doctor left, I fainted sitting on the floor. Grace was just there at my side, to support me but that wasn’t enough for the soldering I feel right now. I don't know what sin I have committed to suffer this hardship. Of all the people in the world, why is it to be my daughter? I can do it, can't it? This news is very painful and very difficult for me. Why now? It's supposed to be her day, she's should be happy celebrating her day. But damn this bad news! I just hope so that it should be me instead of her. It should be me suffering that illness, not her! My daughter is too young to be tortured like this! She's too young for this kind of suffering! Fuck! Why does the world always deceive me? What did I do wrong to experience this all?
