Using the magic tools layla gave us, i managed to open the cage and brake the chain on his legs but i couldn't free his hands and face. "it's okay, let's, get out of here." he said telepathically and I shook my head in approval. we ran to the nearest window and started breaking it open. just one more pin and we are free. just then, two guards showed up and started coming towards us. "it's a jail break!" one of the guards said. "duck!" i heard max's voice say in my head. I bent quickly even though I was confused. that is when I saw that the guards tried to burn us alive. they had fire powers. they moved closer and I kept trying to unlock the window. Max pushed me lightly to the side while he took my place. he used his shoulder to hit the window severally, while I tried to hold the guards. i picked up random objects and threw it to their direction, but it was useless. they dodged everything perfectly. one of the guards created a huge fire ball in his hand and sent it right towards us. seeing how big it was, I knew we were dead meat! as if blocking with my hands will do any good, I raised my hand trying to block the fire. in the process of raising my hands to my face, the fire ball backfired and spread around the cell. this surprised me but I tried doing the same thing again, and the time the guards went flying across the room! That's my power? AIR?. I kept repeating the same move once they gain balance and get ready to attack. Hoping it will buy max time to break the lock. "We need back up!" One of the vampires said, his partner ran off to get help. . Max finally broke the window open and we jumped out. we landed in the castle's surrounding. it was still not safe because we were still in the castle walls. The vampires followed and we were surrounded. Max's hands were still locked up so he couldn't do anything. I tried to think of a way out because I knew my little Air tricks wouldn't work this time around. so I held max tightly I tried to teleport with him. even though I didn't know how to teleport with someone. After few failed attempts, I successfully teleported us to where we were supposed to meet nathan and Josh. nathan we did it! we did it we did it" I squealed. "you wouldn't believe what happ _ _" I Started but stopped right away. quietly staring at the horrible scene in front of me. "nathan! what happened?" I asked, slowly breaking down. he was bleeding non stop, there was a knife in his lower abdomen. and it looked exactly like the one mom was stabbed with. that means it's made of silver, the only weapon that can kill a vampire. "I'm sorry I couldn't get kendra. I'm sorry I let you down." nathan said shaking. he was on death bed and the only thing he was thinking about was letting me down? how selfless. "shh Nathan, you are bleeding. Josh we need to do something, we need to save Nathan please " I said dragging Josh's shirt. "first we need to get out of here. " Josh said coldy. his voice sounding as if he has lost hope already. "but we have to do something about his injury first." I said and then ran to where Nathan was laying. I removed the knife slowly, then, took of his shirt and used it to tie the injury, I wasn't a nurse or something, but I know that the first thing to do in situations like this, is to stop the bleeding. "Nathan, you have to be strong, we should teleport to the witches den." josh said trying his best to be tough. "If we teleport to such far distance, it'll be easy for them to track us. " nathan managed to voice out. "but it's the only way. and we need the witches help to cure you." Josh said. "I'm not going to let prince Ardelean's men to find the witches. we can't risk their lives to save mine. " Nathan protested. and they kept arguing. wasting both our time and nathan's energy. "Well we need to do something." I said, trying to bring an end to their useless argument. It was the last thing we needed right now. Nathan have lost a lot of blood, he was stabbed with a silver knife, which is a vampire's greatest weakness. even though it wasn't his heart, there is still a hard chance of survival. "Okay, why don't we do this, we split the journey. we can teleport to a place that's not too far from the witches den, the vampires will trace us and think we are there. then from there we can teleport to a closer destination and then, to the witches, that way they won't be able to tell our exact location." I said and they all agreed. "But first we need to leave this place before we start teleporting if not, they'll just follow our trail." Max said after removing the masks and locks on his hands and face. His face was red and swollen and his wrists had huge chain marks. It was obvious that he was trying to ignore the pain that was written all over his face. "Max is right" josh said. He had another horse, so he mounted it and we helped him lay Nathan in front of him. Max and I climbed the other horse and they started riding. They rode really fast that we were able to put a distance between us and the castle in no time. We went as far as we could before starting our teleporting journey. after cutting the journey by three stops, we finally got to witches den. we went straight to layla's tent.“
