Chapter 53

She wasn't in anyway rude not even did she reply him the way she does when strangers are absent but her sisters were still not cool with her words.
"Big sis that's so impertinent of you. Is it because he is imperturb, that's the reason you talk to him like that or have you forgotten he owns your meal ticket" Tyndall said irascible and made it show in her look.
Drew already regretted talking while Melissa felt reprimanded with the way her sister spoke in favour of Drew. She also knew that it was all because of Chris. She has spoken to him to in worse manner and they did nothing but laugh and now that she is more polite they are angry. She knew if she keep quiet, Chris is going to school her about training her sisters well.
"And how does that affect you girl?" She snapped with a frown.
"Let's call a spade a spade. If Drew is to be a very tyrannical boss will you talk to him that way? Even if you have to talk must it be in front of your boyfriend that is a guest here? That's what also gave him the effrontery to give him I'll mannered look and couldn't greet him properly. If not that he is your boyfriend, would he have meet him out there and not cower?" Somaria dinned crudely.
Both ladies where looking for the avenue to talk about Chris' rude attitude towards Drew to him and Melissa unconsciously opened one.
"Ria watch your tongue" Drew said firmly.
"You better be careful girl" Melissa bellowed. She knew what Chris did was wrong but scolding Chris will read another meaning. Even though her sisters were right, she was neither happy for them talking to Chris like that
"Let her speak. Thing that ain't right needs to be corrected. Drew is your boss and he deserves the highest level of respect from you and your guy. It is very st......"
Drew didn't allow her to finish her words because he knew it won't please Melissa at all. He doesn't want to be the reason those sisters that never quarrel will start a fight. He covered her mouth with his palm.
"Shut up and let's move" he asserted sternly.
Somaria and Tyndall knew they are already in for Drew's scolding but they don't seem to care because they want to set things straight between Drew and Chris. Be that it may, they never planned to rebuke his rude manners so openly but they never regret putting him in his level. They were frosty because Drew didn't let them let it all out and they gave a pouting expression glaring at Melissa and Chris.
Drew looked at Melissa. He had no business with Chris.
"Apologies for their manners. It's all my fault I shouldn't have said anything" he said and drew the ladies ears and they screamed in pain as they left. Drew didn't even wait for Melissa's acceptance or not.
Melissa didn't know what to say to Chris. She bit her lower lips that it almost bleed.
"Those girls" she snorted. "Drew has become their father" she said in ire. She was truely angry at them.
She knew they meant to embarrass Chris which they succeeded in doing. She intend to scold them when they are back. She also trust Drew, he would have done his own share of scolding them for their rude manners.
She saw pain in Chris' eyes. He wasn't near happy at all.
"Your sisters are just object of his manipulation and I don't blame them for anything they say. It is the guy that pretends to be apologising and scolding that is the real devil behind everything" he invect.
Melissa knew that's what he will say.
"Chris, Drew isn't someone that pretends. If he has any issues or business with you, he settles it all by himself not asking one to do it for him" she disagreed with his words.
"We can't have business" he said haughtily as if if he sees Drew outside he dares confront him.
"Don't be cross with my sisters. They are just been childish" she apologized with a sad look to show her sincerity.
"Who will I go ire for? My little ones or the guy I don't have business with? It is all gone dear" he replied smiling profusely at her.
"Thanks that's really nice of you".
"You're welcome honey".

Mayfield didn't inform Drew of his coming. He just went unannounced to his house. On getting close to his living room, he heard voices. Drew's house is always as silent as an empty drum, but now not only that voices were heard but laughter was ringing out like the Sunday hymns.
He walked quickly to see what lady he brought home. He was excited.
"Ria that's cheating" Tyndall shouted.
"No it's not. It is called smartness" she replied laughing.
Mayfield was surprised to see his over reserved son seated on the floor with two ladies playing game. One was with a frowning look while the other and Drew were laughing at her. Drew never showed his playful side to anyone aside him but seeing him like this was really a shock. He knew something must be special about those ladies. He silently watched them.
"This game sucks" Tyndall blurts out.
She took Drew's game pad but he collected it immediately giving her a poking face.
"Don't be silly" he tapped her hand.
"Don't mind her when she was winning me all the while she was jubilating and the game didn't suck" Somaria mocks.
"I've only won two out of eleven rounds" she complained.
"Let's just say you met your boss" Somaria cackled.
"He won again ahhhh" Tyndall said rolling on the floor like a child and they laughed at her.
"Drew" Mayfield called softly.
They all turned at the call.
"Dad" he called and stood up.
The ladies stood up as well and gesticulate politely.
"How are you ladies?" He asked even though he was giving Drew an inquisitive look.
Drew smiled at his look. "Dad this is Ria and Tin, Melly's sisters and ladies my dad" he introduced.
The ladies bowed again.
"I've always told you to say my name in full when introducing me so that they won't take my name for something else" Tyndall whispered quickly and Drew chuckled.
"I thought as much. I can see the resemblance" he gave them a fatherly smile. "Is Melly around?" He asked with interest.
"No she's not" Drew gave him a mocking look.
"Your sister is really hardworking and impressive. I really like her spirit. Hope you are her replica?"
"Dad! What sort of question is that?" Drew scoffed.
"I was only asking" he replied casually. "Young ladies, I'll be kidnapping this guy from you. Please bear with me" he said smiling at them.
"Yes sir" they bowed.
Drew was wondering what brought his father unannounced. He thought it seems urgent because it was unlike him to barge in on him.
"Dad, what's up with the sudden visit?" He asked curiously.
Mayfield gave home a queer look. "Why put Jim on the plane?"
Drew's curiosity died. The matter wasn't as hard as he took it. He gave his father a blank look.
"Jim's been gone for a time now. Why get angry on past issue?" He asked.
"So it is true" she said sternly. "Romeo called to tell me how disappointed he was when he got to find out that you were the one who put Jim on the plane to return home".
"Dad I only booked a flight, I didn't tell her to leave" he said as if he was ignorant of the reason they brought her here in the first place.
"Did she tell you the reason she's going back?" He was looking at him with an intense look to see if he was going to deny.
"Sort of" he said insipidly.
"Sort of?' He bawled.
"Dad, why go shirty on this issue. Jim is not a baby" he said.
"What sort of brother are you? That girl left the place because of a guy and you knowing you allowed it. Letting her abandon her schooling" he dinned.
"Come off it dad. You don't know the root of this issue" he said calmly.
"And who told you that?" He snapped.
"Dad, you claim she left because of a guy but are you also aware that she was brought here because of a guy also?"
