To him and Pius, their greatest nightmare was the family crisis, that had defied solution as a result of the insensitivity of the past and successive government who had the long list of dammed good politicians who had left in cold hand the political scene. The government that had dealt a big blow to the family’s property. The abortive attempt, they took at the head mouth to reform the political corruption was not totally dealt with. Since the last argument some years ago, Mr. President had concealed the weapon somewhere about his person and wanted to flush him out whole and entire from political field and physical universe and to have his name permanently erased from the list. Whosoever look at his eyes and torched the eyebrow had crossed the boundary or had stretched to the limit. It was sad though that such would happen to a bright hope of the entire continent at the time he was needed most. These events after him was a close set up, which would really last a lifetime if nothing was done. Sending him to his early grave would be the judgment opinion of the world in his performance and the country at large at his demise. He had long broken the rule, the sacred rule of Mr. President and boasted more of more attempt to speak against him. The history of his stay in office occupied a special and largest chapter in the history book of the country. His children were now in disarray.
* Mr. Zack’s family situation would continue and would remain so until Mrs. Zack and her children understood where Pius was channeling his complaint and grievances. He could not have been a fool from his childhood to his adult years. In all truth, the young man had not been fair to the family, but he could be right after all. He had tried his mother’s patience, but it would equally be discerned that those complaints were not for nothing. He was desperately itching to place his father’s family as equal partners in the nation’s project in order to regain at most the lost glory. With the new development on the commissions set up as watchdog to corruption, it was clear that Mr. President floated them for personal agenda. Time was making history to relay itself. While other family members could enjoy the wealth of their father which Ribadau and others secretly stole, he had been left to waste his productive years in poor stricken Adikari area. Like a region, he had been marginalized. Despite the look and poor condition of his residence, he lived a good life than the others. He smokes, womanized, danced and chatted to a measurable scale, but with the greatest courteousness. He consumed his conscious times thinking and drafting out plans for attack. He preferred keeping himself away from public glare, as anything by his name; his real name would expose him to death by court order. He was soft pedaling his plans with all sincerity of heart and mind, never harming others, yet firm and resolute. Compared to others around him, he lived a quiet life. He kept mostly a routine of reading old works by ancient Caribbean writers and rock music by the Orientals. Like his father, he was organized, conscious and mean, very addicted to and curious for learning and change wherever he is. With the times and years, he had spent from being a child to a young person, then to a young adult, he had made improvements and adjustment to cope with life offers, sending to blazes cold memories and good times they shared together as a family and many dreams that did not come true. Like a child abandoned in uncharted woodland, he learned to pick his way through life difficult terrain, alert in the realism that his beloved father was dead now and would not be around to take care of him anymore. With due respect to the learned judge, his interpretation of the constitution was not clear. But the fact that he was under a secret oath to keep late Mr. Zack on breach of code that renders corruption valueless, he would have granted expartee order and without prejudice to the substantive matter. It was known that to freeze the business account of a person of Mr. Zack character who did not enter politics money driven in a matter that was not morally urgent, reliable, and just, was wrong and antithetical to the doctrine of fair hearing and should therefore be deprecated in the course of time. This injustice was always with him, in his mind always, that he hoped something good could be achieved through a listening ear. He could at least be heard. That was a right.
