Chapter 106

Among the four legal children of Mr. Zack, he was one and only son that inherited one admirable trait of his father, which is self-confidence and pessimism. He was not the kind of mortal that could easily be initiated into the belief of adopting negotiation as the new game and to cover a big sin because of wealth that might be accrued.
On one of those nights, he had been informed through a telegram message that his younger brother would call at a so-so and so time and he was waiting. Someone he had been itching to see for a long time, who meant so much to him, who understand why, who would never be bought over, his immediate younger brother- Mosi. Suddenly his phone rang and it was Mosi.
“Man P how are you? This is me Mosi. It’s nice hearing from you again after a long time”.
Pius waited a little, guessed who the caller was and replied genially, tilting his cell-phone backward for better reception, having finally caught the drift. He replied.
“How are you Mosi? It’s good hearing from you again. How did you get the number? He asked.
“I tried many numbers mom said you used in calling her which she knew where public phone and unreliable numbers. I am fortunate to reach you with this after sending you the text”
“Oh yes I tried to keep time with you. So how are you?”
“Well am fine P. I want to see you. We need to talk, it’s been a long time and I am happy we have not seen.”
“Let talk over the phone here. I know that it would be hard for you to accept that, but please do.”
“No I want it in my own hotel room”
“That would be good, but promise me you are not going to link anyone up just for me.”
“I promise, I will not”
“Then listen for a guide to my hotel room. Standard Trend hotel Room 36. Opposite Olive … ”
“Do not mind I will be there. I have seen you severally going in and coming out. I will be there in a moment”
“Let fix it tomorrow”
“That would be fine” he replied.
The next day, the appointment came as planned. Pius got to the door and knocked quietly. It could not be anyone else but Pius. Mosi was not hoping to meet a visitor that day. He kept all appointment in their places the previous day and wanted it all and with Pius that day. He had been busy all morning drafting a case in point with the federal government over the ruling against his father and the sophistication of his account and property in an unjust manner and soon would sue them for proper attention. He was a well trained lawyer with few years experience in the British court. He was called to BAR with his first class result. His mission was different. He came to change what was considered the nation’ He was still bubbling forth with vigor and all tricks in the law to make his way out of the profession.
Mosi quietly opened the door and they looked at each other to the eyes and made a quick mental calculation of the day they parted some years ago as young children and now meeting as adult. Pius was the most young and attractive. He was still young and bachelorette in look. He had this body that could spark people to question his age. Time was faster these days that they grew to young adults in a short time, very heavy and strong with all characteristics of young men. It is good o be old as brothers and share common rules of living. After a bear-hug, they held hands and chatted excitedly like long lost comrades walking towards the reception.
“P. what is keeping you off from view all these years? I have been in different line with mother and Uka over abandoning you. I was not so keen to be bought by them. You know it was hard for me to be bought over in those years. Though I was younger, much younger for one to know what I would be good at, yet I was always firm for what is right. You are really my concern. I was in London when I heard that mom got married to Ribadau. Honestly, I took many days off from normal school activities to absorb the shock. I never concentrated in anything. Mother was always in my heart. I was thinking her and what could have made her degenerate to that level. She could have been better with another man, but not to father’s friend and enemy. The man pretended to be the most kind, but he is the worst man I have ever met in my entire life.
