Chapter 108

The ripe hour of his assassination came suddenly and Pius masterminded it on the influence of Gani from the opposing party. The shooting was not aimed at him, but on another person, but he had been on the list and it was the only opportunity he had to see him appear in public or looked stressed up.
However, all attempts to get a fact from the political engineers were replied with a resounding “No comment” and “comment reserved”. His sudden and painful exit was a serious matter that deserved serious attention.
There was no direct involvement of the newly elected president on this. He would not be allowed to suffer in a total silence as a custom over the sin he did not commit. He had been cleared of many faulty interpretations and told to continue till the real killers were called to book.
He had tactfully declined offers and monetary gifts in order for Mr. Ribadau to be replaced as soon as practicable to his vacant position as the vice president. Instead he advised, like his predecessor that he was mourning over his lost colleague and he has not been cleared and for so, so so and so reasons that he had to wash up his hands against future blackmailing or accused of his involvement over the assassination.
The party finally selected other persons to replace Mr. Ribadau in his disfavor days after these.

The next morning saw Mr. Ribadau, Ben and men of the ruling party at the national theater. Ben’s public appearance became fewer  in this few days before the election , despite the alarming tick of the clock. It was on a September. As the race to grab the seat by the ruling party, Ben and Ribadau stares down from many billboards scattered all around in every region . Then his banners and posters which were placed in all wall . Mr. President , the ordained lord of the ruling party gazed through the gloom at many cheering supporters of the ruling party whose sole aim were to squander any leftover of food. The venue had been chosing because of its large seating capacity and large park and expanse. It was the center were the largest gathering was always called and people were always comfortable with it tight security outfit and modern torch that could be found in most developed countries of the world.
Mr. Ribadau led the delegation to the public though it has not been officially known to the people that he would substitute Ben or that Ben should continue. It was on the crescendo of the campaign. Other parties were at their best, busily campaigning for their different candidates and pledging for recognition.  Mr. President was his follow-up who always sat alongside Ben and told him what he would do at every breathing space. To the outer space Mr. President and his party had presented him as the running mates while the plans to choose the most suitable lasts. People who mostly were from the ruling party crowded into that public arena, raising their voices and calling him names. Then outside were those who were unable to get a place in the throng, but because they could not have stayed without getting anything tangible, they climbed the nearby roof and walls.
In all political gatherings, media talks, personal interviews and courtesies, he had represented his interest and that of any that was solidly behind him. Endowed with dashing looks, sharp oratorical skills, complimented by a trenchant voice, he easily captured the imagination of the public and said what would naturally interest them - long and joined British English had become the traditional province of politicians in the republic because of their British educational ascent which he acquired. He was a shrewd politician who knew how to manipulate public opinion and buy them with the little thing available.  He was never a shy person when it comes to courting publicity. He at all times served and defended all his actions with zeal and eloquence.
In a short while, the national anthem over.
‘It is our humble wish to thank you all the good people of the Federal Republic of Kandala. On behalf of the ruling party and party representatives, we say welcome and thank you for honoring the invitation to come here despite your listless engagement, which you had left behind to listen to our manifesto. We trust in your honest conscience that you are all solidly behind this gesture. We trust and count in your support and care for a better tomorrow for our great rising nation under the sun. We all have many identities by the sound of our name, by the tone of our voice, by our tribes and ethnicity and religion and natural boundaries, but we are brothers.”
